Where did you get that info from? It would be cool to see chart to see how much coins were in POS at any given time* ...

People can enable POS minting whenever they want, so the n-change could have reminded/motivated them to unlock their wallets. The n-change itself doesn't effect POS.

I never paid attention to that number but I don't think it relates to POS. Most likely it's POW hashing which you aren't doing with the client.

Thanks guys for the responses, I have another question, how long do coins stay in stake? I obviously started PoS, so I'm glad for that. Have had the coins for over 350 confirmations, and still in stake. Also has anyone notice the huge number of PoS on the Blockchain? I', sure that is all related to N change. Does that also mean that for the next n change, we will all be PoS, also the number of new coins being generated due to PoW, has gone significantly down. Thanks everyone.

At this point, it appears there is almost no difference in the processing power of the GPU's - performance is going to be dictated by available memory. I have been out of town so I haven't been able to try N=13 on my 5770,5870 & 7850, but they were all comparable in hash rate for N=12 - they are also all 1 GB cards. My laptop (core i7 3610 w AMD 7850M gpu) gets 2.8KH/sec on the GPU and 1.2KH/sec on the CPU now. The GPU was never terribly strong to begin with and always performed below the 5770, but the hash rate was around 9KH/sec at N=12.

The older N changes more or less cut my 7950 hashrate in half. However, for the recent two N changes, my hashrate roughly went from 100k->30k->7.5k. So, down to 30% and then 25%.

I don't have a benchmark for your card, but I assume it will behave alike the one from the yacexplorer benchmade previously. It seems that the hashrate decrease is accelerating, while CPU always looses less than GPU. The next step for the CPU there was a 75% decrease for CPU so it's not so unlikely YAC will be a CPU coin in the future.

Can someone run a new benchmark for me on GPU? The 0 hash/s for n=12 on yacexplorer seem to be a bit off ...

As posted above, my 7950's hit appx. 9kh/s currently... prior to the change it was appx 35 kh/s

If it's some consolation to you guys, I only get 7.5kh/s now with a 7950 and was getting 30kh/s before the latest N change. Your cards and settings aren't bad.

A nice thing about mining YACoin is the GPU is not as hot as mining normal scrypt coins. It doesn't heat up my room as much and consumes less electricity.

It's understandable that a change of hash rate is frustrating for everyone that is accustomed to hashing away on other coins. However, YAC is NOT like other coins, and that's the way we like it Cool

A better way in my opinion to think about the Nfactor changes is akin to a reverse stock split: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reverse_stock_split

While your hash rate has dropped, so has everyone else's. You're essentially mining at the same rate as before, at least if you're using a CPU, which after all was the original intent of YACoin.

indeed, that's because the cpu has a much faster access to ram and also L1/L2/L3 caches

Yeah, interesting as in it sucked.... hashrate is appx. 25% what it was and it was horrible before... hitting just under 9k/sec on a 7950... maybe once the difficulty drops quite a bit we can get somewhere like after the last drop... it's gonna take a couple weeks though and network hashrate is under 1 meg...
