@dogie

If your looking at the front of the miner with the fan facing you, which board from left to right is the first one?

I got an email back:
Quote
Please reconnect the cable to make sure of good connection to try or please switch the cable with a good hash board to test

However the cables only seem long enough to reach their assigned port

Here is another question that very remotely might be related to firmware or may be is a non-issue.
I will be very specific. Mining on f2pool, I noticed that my old S2' s GHS is closer to what shows up on workers page of account.
But for C1 (runs on 225MHz), the miner shows 900+ GH/S(5s) and f2pool shows less say 689 (20 min avg). It goes little up and down but stays way less than the one on miner. I watched on miner consistently and that number stays close to 900 on miner. This is a one time test and I didnot repeat and could be just a temp weird situation but did get my curiosity.

Anyone can please explain this or has anyone else noticed this ever.
Am afraid to upgrade S2 firmware to new version with cgminer 4.6  for that reason bcz C1 has 4.6 (latest firmware).

And what about ASIC 2 temperature? That looks wrong. Time to setup an RMA

Just a bad temp probe, not indicative of anything else.

Took off the case and moved power cables in and out. Unplugged and replugged. Changed frequency around a few times.

And now that board one is showing, ASIC # 16 but all "-------- --------"

What PSU are you running? What happens when you power only that board and the board with the fans + pumps? I doubt this is anything we can fix outside an RMA, but worth checking to minimize downtime.

Running the corsair 1000w that you had in your guide. Ill give it a try in the morning, about to head to bed. Thanks for the help. Email was just sent in.

Got mine all hooked up tonight, unfortunately 200GH/s away from a full T

Also, this is showing on the page:

Anything I can do about that?

Thanks

The first asic status is not right.  Try turning on/off.  Do the asics show back up?  At lower freq do they still disappear.

Restarted it a few times, same issue.

I just tried lowering the freq down to 218.75. still only get "oo"

Yea thats still the same:

Alright, I guess ill email em. Damn...what a bummer

Bitmain's support is great.  If you email pictures and whats happening to [email protected] they should help if there is anything else or if it does need to be RMA.

It's looking like it's a faulty board.

First board is very dead, sure its not had any coolant on it? Any visible defect? Its really rare that you get a lack of ships showing rather than XXXX chips.

Everything looks brand new, no strange smells, nothing setting off alarms to my eye that it would be defective. And not no coolant on it, also the setup was followed exactly as the instructions. Everything went fine until up to this part  Huh

Still willing to ship to you if you pay shipping Dogie or Syscooling.

Again I do not blame Bitmain they were very helpfull.  Syscooling not so much.  My RMA parts are still lost in mail.....  I bought new parts on my own to replace.

Just cut the sheath off and take a picture, it would take 30 seconds. You're making a claim that should be impossible (by the mechanism you've stated), so you should really provide some information.

I'm not sure how they are studying it without getting one of the bad V1 harness.

Because the reason for the harness upgrade was bad crimp connections - not something that could damage a board or cause a fire.

blah blah blah

First time I've heard a lack of cooling could never cause a fire. Dogie a paid employee knows something we don't?
It's got nothing to do with a lack of cooling - there appeared to have been some fan cables that had wires crossed in the first generation cooling kits.  Syscooling says they've completely changed the wiring.

Mine was bad enough to start fire on fan controller components....  this was in 40ish F degree ambient temperature so has nothing to do with heat.   It was faulty harness.   I have offered to ship it to anyone it would help.

Woke up pump/fans were not working.  Opened up and moved to another fan controller.  With the case off and turned on visible fire came from fan components.  I run without their harness.  I bought a molex to fan board I'm currently using to power.

I feel sure that it was harness.   One pump set died around 6 days, and other a day later.   They are now running with a new pump, and molex controller I bought my self.

I can only tell and explain how Syscooling handled situation with me and how painful it was.   I am not a harness genius  that is why I would still ship it to someone who is.   I am expressing my own personal opinions, and in no way are meant to be slander but to get syscooling to make the situation right.   Is it possible I am wrong.... sure.... I just highly don't think I am with seeing the flames with harness plugged in and stop when it's out.  I am just wanting syscooling to make my situation right.  Take this and all previous or future messages about situation to be my opinion.

*I'm not cutting it as I am afraid that would loose connection.  Something is touching in it that should not (I am guessing).  If you want shipped let me know.

Has anyone figured out the setting for best watt per GHs ratio.
I thought lowering the frequency would reduce watts/GHs but it doesnt so much in my case.
If I increase frequency to 250 which in my case was stock frequency, my power consumption shoots up to 950 W and output stays around 1040-1100.
I am afraid to run it at that frequency because then temperatures go in 50s.
So I am running it at 225 that gives me between 850-900 GHS  for consistent consumption of 786+ watts and that seems pretty inefficient.
Applying the new firmware from Bitmain support site also didn't make any difference.
Btw, above watts (with 80plus Gold Rosewill psu) also include the cooling kit consumption but taking out 25 watts from above numbers still doesn't match the specs.
