No one help me?  Roll Eyes
Download this IP scanner and see if it can find your miner:
http://www.advanced-ip-scanner.com/

I used it to find one of my S3s when I made a typo on the IP address.  (Ok, ok...it was more than one typo... Wink )

I'm not sure how they are studying it without getting one of the bad V1 harness.

Because the reason for the harness upgrade was bad crimp connections - not something that could damage a board or cause a fire.

I'm interested in this, if someone still has a v1 harness that fried boards, can you cut off the insulation and take me some pictures? I can only imagine that a +ve and -ve were reversed and soldered to the wrong group, else I'm stumped.

I have 2 I'm not sure which one is the firestarter. (Put them away in a box after the incidents). One had a dead pump around 6 days in (could have been from dry testing syscooling did or could be harness).  Other actually killed pump and burned a fire on components of fan controller on 2 boards about a day after.

My worry about cutting insulation is if something is touching doing it by cutting insulation I could lose the two parts touching.

I was hoping eventually syscooling would pay compensation and want harness sent to them.   But it appears syscooling did not get report of fires or burning..... I'm not sure how they are studying it without getting one of the bad V1 harness.     Then again maybe like I thought they just don't care.

If  you can get syscooling to pay shipping I'm willing to send both dead pumps and both bad harness to you dogie.

I had 2 boards fry aswell.  Can you confirm your's was done by syscooling v1 harness?

I paid for 2 C1's. Just waiting for them to get shipped to me. I'm in the US. Already have the power supply and extra coolant. I've used the Corsair RM1000 on my KNC and it is a flawless power supply. I'll be using that power supply. If there is no electrical issue of using the supplied harness then I'll just use it. I assume it just plugs into one of the plugs on the top of the C1. This is my first antminer, so I don't know much about them or where power connections are, etc....I actually see 4 PCI-E connectors on the C1, but only 2 are needed to power it I guess? And I'm surprised you found that 4pin block. I searched that site and couldn't find it! You must have better search capabilities then me. I'm just getting impatient, because I want to be up and running ASAP.

If unsure, see excessively excessive guide: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/guide-dogies-comprehensive-bitmain-antminer-c1-setup-hd-846095

2:  Check out the harness carefully, I cooked at least two resistors on a board and killed a fan header because one of my two harnesses was bad.  I may do some reflow work to replace the resistors, but in the interim have replaced the harness with a few 4 pin fan splitters from the working headers.

Or...we could just answer the questions:

1:  4 PCI-e connections (6 pin) are required -- one for each of the four mining boards.  There are a total of 8 PCI-e connectors (two on each mining board)...you just need to use one on each board to run at stock speed....so fill up one "slot" of 4 PCI-e connectors on top of the miner.

2:  Check out the harness carefully, I cooked at least two resistors on a board and killed a fan header because one of my two harnesses was bad.  I may do some reflow work to replace the resistors, but in the interim have replaced the harness with a few 4 pin fan splitters from the working headers.

3:  No, you have to remove the miner's cover to plug the provided wiring harness (or a replacement splitters / harness) into the 4 pin fan headers on the mining boards...I have already suggested that this sucks and should be an easy improvement for BitMainTech for future C1s.  That said, it's just 10 standard phillips head screws to undo and pull the cover off to get to the fan headers.

4: The RM1000 is recommended, but I assume you mean one RM1000 for EACH miner...right?

No worries i can understand getting impatient.  My RMA pumps are somewhere in China... and may go back on the grid one day and make it here.   I got impatient and I'm sure it showed.  If I let any excess madness go twords anyone I appolgize, it was all meant twords syscooling.

Is Corsair RM850 80+ Gold PSU enough for running one Antminer C1?

Yes, although I still prefer the 1000 as an investment if you're buying a new one.

I can confirm the rm1000 is great with theses.  I had a cold ambient temps and PSU was in its "quiet" mode.

I have got conformation I am being sent 2 pumps as replacement's.   I bought a molex to fan connector so I don't have to worry about my wire frying boards.

All said it looks like I am losing around 2 weeks mining on 2 C1 machines.  Down 2 board fan controller's on 2 separate boards.  Lost higher priced coolant.  Paranoid and bought 2 extra pumps, and molex to fan boards.  With extra parts I ordered I am hoping to lose only around a week, but it came at a premium.

I will know more when I get all the parts from RMA.

I highly suggest 2 things after all of this so you don't lose mining time.

i really like that molex to fan power board.
those would work great in my pc builds.
this is part reasons why i always read these threads.

It's working great with it.  And no chance of fried boards like with sysgear harness (version 1).

One thing to mention is I replaced pump with a 3 pin fan so I was able to do a molex to fan pin board with all 3 pins.  If you are using the syscooling pump you for optimum power need one 4 pin for their pump.  They do make some with a mix so it's possible to get one that does this.

Why would you change the 4pin connection to a 3? There is a reason why it is a 4 pin. The most obvious is for some kind of control. That 4th pin controls the speed and I'm guessing if it senses a higher temp runs the pump a little quicker. Unless there is no logic in the circuitry of the pump at all. It actually would have been easier for syscooling to keep everything 3pin, but I think the 4pin is there for a reason.
That's why you can't find any molex power boards with 4 pin connectors on them.

Well I choose one that shipped close on ebay.  It actually runs faster the original pump.

Original pump harness does not use 4 they cut off the side of plastic to rig it.....  so you didn't get 4 with it.

And yes... you can find molex with 4 pin. http://www.frozencpu.com/products/25650/ele-1333/Phobya_PWM_8x_4-Pin_Splitter_81136.html#blank

I have 10 AntMiner C1 Coupon 50 USD off that expire 11/30/14.   I am happy to get rid off them for .01 donation.  (Set a price as people are bad about donations Smiley and I'm not here to make money just pay for time my C1's were down because of syscooling)

PM me if you are interested.  After the .01 is donated per coupon you want I will send coupon or coupons.  Currently that is around 3.25 for 50 off.

In the harness the 4 pin pump goes to 3 pin anyway, there isn't any PWM control being used. You 'need' a 4 pin otherwise the plastic gets in the way.

Hi guys, i'm be interested for the cooling system of C1.
Can i buy the cooling system in Germany?

For a C1? If so, C1s now come with the cooling kits. If not for a C1, you can buy it from syscooling's website still. Links in my #2 post.

I know that i can buy C1 with cooling system. But i want to buy it in Germany.

Thanks for your support.

You won't get the same, but I've discussed the issue already with aquatuning.de - they basically have the right gear in stock, however, more expensive...

What constitutes "specialist coolant"... anything with corrosion inhibitors? I was under the impression that using automotive fluids (like anti-freeze) in a loop was harmful to plastic parts inside a pump. I’m wondering if something like Feser Base would suffice. I have some copper radiators on-hand that I’d like to use but mixing metals just sounds like it's asking for trouble.

ok cheers for replies!

yeah i can get some great coolant locally through these blokes - http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=207_160_301&zenid=a4d940bbc49b2e11ffb4c6443805eb53

is the tubing length supplied with the C1 adequate or is it beneficial to have a longer length?

Also how is the assembly of the cooling fans/hoses/attachments with the supplied gear, any extra things that makes install a breeze needed or is it all pretty adequate?

Any coolant designed for 'PC' watercooling will be fine. Plenty of barbs and tubing, you won't need more.
