here mine with bitmain latest firmware:

https://pasteboard.co/GTUNZug.png

my board 2 has always been flaky.

Thanks now let's try to get roughly the same temperatures with my firmware as I'm curious what the default voltage is. After that test try to lower the voltage as low as you can go Smiley

ps. you're unlucky by the way: one of your boards is giving HW errors at default voltage....

Flash OK...
look fine at the moment Smiley
what is the 'default asic voltage' Value?

good to hear. I don't know what the default value is to be honest as I modified my hardware and don't know the hardware defaults.
That's why I need your guys feedback about wattages Smiley

as I have enough feedback from people that own a watt meter I will make a version available for everybody (with the correct defaults / limits). Thank you for your patience

First milestone is reached: the first flashable firmware image is a fact.   Grin

Please give a reply in this thread if you're willing to test it. It's really experimental so here are the terms:

- I am not responsible for any damage to your miner, flash at your own risk
- You're not in panic when you see HW errors because of the low voltage Wink
- You do have a watt meter
- You're willing to test and give me feedback for improvement.
- You're not going to complain about the 1.5% mining fee.

what you will get:
- no more high speed fan's during startup
- no more low fan warnings (the fan speed is fully unlocked)
- a first version of the unlocked voltage.

If you do join this beta test, please test the following:
set the speed to 400Mhz on your bitmain firmware and measure the amount of watts needed.
flash the beta firmware and set fan speed to manual at 20%
set the speed to 400Mhz and try to get as low as you can on the voltage settings before you see hardware errors.

PM me then the following information:
- your batch
- the wattage at 400mhz on the bitmain firmware
- The voltage on the custom firmware so that you run at the same wattage as the bitmain firmware
- The lowest possible voltage setting for 400mhz on the custom firmware. (before getting HW errors)
- the wattage measured at the new voltage
- your fan RPM speed at 20% fan setting

ofcourse if you run in any other problems please PM me as well.  Wink

I want to test but I dont have a watt meter:(

I could test too if you like.

edit oh n/m, I don't have a watt meter.

No problem I sent you the link though. Keep an eye on the temperatures as it will give some feedback as well. so run at 400mhz on the bitmain firmware at 20% fan speed and write down the temps. Flash the custom firmware and see at which voltage you get the same temps and then lower the voltage to see how low you can go before getting hardware errors.

ok, will let you know. how long of a sample do you want? Run for 30 mins and record the values?

5 minutes per run is fine, as it will heat up enough already.
if you don't see HW errors in 5 minutes it's fine as well. A few Hw errors every hour is the optimal setting as you're just on the limit Smiley

Of course I agree with all your condition, I'm ready to test Smiley
thanks man!

You got a pm. Please let us know soon if flashing was ok, so I have the confidence to send it to others  Cool

Too Many Miners Not Enough Electricity
You tried to unbrick with sd card slot? I think its accepts firmware from it.

That's what I am going to do now.

Good news: the unbrick method for the s7 works for the d3 Smiley

let's try again now haha  Grin
