First milestone is reached: the first flashable firmware image is a fact.   Grin

Please give a reply in this thread if you're willing to test it. It's really experimental so here are the terms:

- I am not responsible for any damage to your miner, flash at your own risk
- You're not in panic when you see HW errors because of the low voltage Wink
- You do have a watt meter
- You're willing to test and give me feedback for improvement.
- You're not going to complain about the 1.5% mining fee.

what you will get:
- no more high speed fan's during startup
- no more low fan warnings (the fan speed is fully unlocked)
- a first version of the unlocked voltage.

If you do join this beta test, please test the following:
set the speed to 400Mhz on your bitmain firmware and measure the amount of watts needed.
flash the beta firmware and set fan speed to manual at 20%
set the speed to 400Mhz and try to get as low as you can on the voltage settings before you see hardware errors.

PM me then the following information:
- your batch
- the wattage at 400mhz on the bitmain firmware
- The voltage on the custom firmware so that you run at the same wattage as the bitmain firmware
- The lowest possible voltage setting for 400mhz on the custom firmware. (before getting HW errors)
- the wattage measured at the new voltage
- your fan RPM speed at 20% fan setting

ofcourse if you run in any other problems please PM me as well.  Wink
I'm ready to test, I have a voltmeter.

Clueless!
@blissz
What do you think, do you can release the other algos?

I don't think this is even an option anymore..(see previous posts on here and the code posted)

looked like an ungodly mess indeed

probably would be quicker to start a gofundme for a NEW x11 coin we could pump...odds would be the same Sad

Thanks for the amazing job! Now I hope in a cgminer mod that allow to mine only one algo!

If you want to give me the beta firmware I will test them, I don't have a wattmeter but I have a corsair 1200W HX1200i PSU with usb, I can connect the usb in a pc and with corsair link software I can have all the PSU stats

I found a bug in setting the voltage, I need to do a bit more testing before releasing the next test version. If you already installed the custom firmware, please set the voltage fixed to 200 and don't touch it. Just wait for the next update

200 seems to be close to the original firmware then. Maybe slightly lower voltage, but that would be a good default.
I will make a new image as the range is not good now. It should be more like a 100 - 300 range I think

Important note to the testers: the default voltage on the new firmware is too high, please set it to 200 and wait for further information.

I will come back with a new version which has a valid range, sorry for the inconvenience

here mine with bitmain latest firmware:

https://pasteboard.co/GTUNZug.png

my board 2 has always been flaky.

Thanks now let's try to get roughly the same temperatures with my firmware as I'm curious what the default voltage is. After that test try to lower the voltage as low as you can go Smiley

ps. you're unlucky by the way: one of your boards is giving HW errors at default voltage....

I know, I have 2 other D3's still in the box so maybe I'll give those a try too.
After flashing but not adjusting the voltage yet:

https://pasteboard.co/GTUSfol.png

please adjust it down a lot Smiley the default is way too high I see. Try to get it at the same levels as before flashing

yup, temps went up pretty quick.

Here is voltage at lowest setting. Looks good, no errors and my xxxxx's are gone too ^_^

This is at 200? Seems that 200 is more near to the original setting.

yup 200.

do you think that these temps are sustainable  ?

of course not. see my next post with the lower voltage.

Flash OK...
look fine at the moment Smiley
what is the 'default asic voltage' Value?

good to hear. I don't know what the default value is to be honest as I modified my hardware and don't know the hardware defaults.
That's why I need your guys feedback about wattages Smiley

I mean in your modified interface you have the option asic voltage with range 200-460,  was is the default value, to know where to start and decrease it

the default should be 360, but that seems higher than the default voltage
