I Think that blissz have the same hope that all D3's buyer have...... the best performance of this miner..... he is working hard to mod the firmware.... voltage... fan... algo... i think that now all people must support it but dont ask continuosly  "when you..."  " how many algos... " is possibile.... " the work is long.....

great thanks for this.

out of couriosity, have you done any mods for other miners, like ibelink 11g or baikal giant? ^_^

Cheers

You're welcome, I think you will like the low voltage better now Smiley Let me know how it works for you.
I don;t own other asics yet so I don't know how to do it. I am pretty sure some of the other Bitmain miners can be modded though.

There you go guys,

here is the first public beta

https://mega.nz/#!P05C3TJT!x8oA-j4myy4jxX83cMcmkPscpotU0oAvMHJEbZ5IfZg

It's really experimental so here are the terms:
- I am not responsible for any damage to your miner, flash at your own risk
- You're not going to complain about the 1.5% mining fee.

what you will get:
- no more high speed fan's during startup
- no more low fan warnings (the fan speed is fully unlocked)
- a first version of the unlocked voltage. It's possible to both undervolt and overvolt. I advice to set it to the lowest possible setting and increase the frequency until you get HW errors. Then you found the sweetspot of your miner.

Instructions:
set the miner frequency at 400mhz and set your fan speed at 25% before flashing. After flashing, check the advanced settings page and start at the lowest voltage setting. From there increase your frequency to see how high you can go at the lowest voltage setting.

Could you give link to hi res photos or make video how to hard undervolt it?

First milestone is reached: the first flashable firmware image is a fact.   Grin

Please give a reply in this thread if you're willing to test it. It's really experimental so here are the terms:

- I am not responsible for any damage to your miner, flash at your own risk
- You're not in panic when you see HW errors because of the low voltage Wink
- You do have a watt meter
- You're willing to test and give me feedback for improvement.
- You're not going to complain about the 1.5% mining fee.

what you will get:
- no more high speed fan's during startup
- no more low fan warnings (the fan speed is fully unlocked)
- a first version of the unlocked voltage.

If you do join this beta test, please test the following:
set the speed to 400Mhz on your bitmain firmware and measure the amount of watts needed.
flash the beta firmware and set fan speed to manual at 20%
set the speed to 400Mhz and try to get as low as you can on the voltage settings before you see hardware errors.

PM me then the following information:
- your batch
- the wattage at 400mhz on the bitmain firmware
- The voltage on the custom firmware so that you run at the same wattage as the bitmain firmware
- The lowest possible voltage setting for 400mhz on the custom firmware. (before getting HW errors)
- the wattage measured at the new voltage
- your fan RPM speed at 20% fan setting

ofcourse if you run in any other problems please PM me as well.  Wink

I want test too,I have the wattmeter.Thanks

I have good and less good news.
The good news: I solved the set voltage bug, so I will send out a new version soon.
The bad news: Because of the hard mod I was able to get to a lower voltage then you can go without the hardmod.
The lowest possible voltage setting is about 0.4v below the default voltage, which is still nice, but if you want to undervolt hardcore you still need a hardmod.

So I expect a sweetspot at around 450 - 475mhz at the lowest voltage setting.

@blissz
What do you think, do you can release the other algos?

I don't think this is even an option anymore..(see previous posts on here and the code posted)

looked like an ungodly mess indeed

probably would be quicker to start a gofundme for a NEW x11 coin we could pump...odds would be the same Sad

Yes, I saw. It is a bad news. The mod is very good, but the profit is so small.. -10 - +80USD/month...risible.

Please, would like to be a tester.
Also THANK YOU for doing this... This is a huge undertaking.

Have Wattmeter, a volt meter and know how to use both. Wink  I also understand & agree with your terms.

I could test too if you like.

edit oh n/m, I don't have a watt meter.

No problem I sent you the link though. Keep an eye on the temperatures as it will give some feedback as well. so run at 400mhz on the bitmain firmware at 20% fan speed and write down the temps. Flash the custom firmware and see at which voltage you get the same temps and then lower the voltage to see how low you can go before getting hardware errors.

I could test too

I haven't  a watt meter.

Thanks for the support guys. When I tackled the voltage setting issue I will send around the new firmware. to the four testers and the new ones with a wattmeter.
