v1.01 :: 29/11 :: recommended update

Download:
https://mega.nz/#!noIikAzC!n1bHwuyg9aOJ6sBUWOq16ZMeILsGR3rh1zIyCEj3kac

Changes 29/11:
- seperated low hashrate and ASIC fail detection option in advanced configuration screen
- reboot on low hashrate or high ASIC fail rate only after 3 times consecutive detection (less sensitive now)
- further improved startup stability of all chains
- further cgminer binary optimizations

know issues:

- switching pools can sometimes cause the miner to wait for work for ~5 seconds. (improved from ~10 seconds)
- loosing network connection doesn't stop the mining boards properly (this is default bitmain behavior, but I don't like it, so it will be changed in the future)

happy mining!

Did you check why is one of the three chains if you reboot sometimes it gives you high temp or low temp chip?

Yes I hope this firmware helps you out as well

Yeah, i don't any abnormal chip temp after reboot anymore, do i have to check both "Reboot on low hash rates" and "Reboot on high ASIC fail rate"?

yo blissz,
Great work on the firmware. u make the antminer d3 cool again.
if other algoritms will happen u will get your own statue. Cool
And thanks to everyone who is helping. Grin

Lol, my defective board has gone crazy. Not updated yet to 29/11, it's 28/11.
Just check it's hashrate, and it keeps growing by minute. I rebooted to avoid it taking off, lolz!

Guys if it's true it can be Hugeeee !!! :

It's about a custom firmware to mine other algorithms :

https://www.inginer.xyz/

Be aware ... seems to be scam..

take a look at https://whois.icann.org/en/lookup?name=www.inginer.xyz

Take a look at the name, adress and Phone number (french polynesia)

I did a lookup before they changed the registrant info. it came back as https://www.facebook.com/stefan.schimbator as the owner now it's different

Damn, avoid it! Republic of Moldavia...

Running 28/11 on three D3's at the mining farm. So far so good. This is a great project, if there is anything I can do to help PM me. I'm really hoping you can get multialgo support working for the D3's.

Thanks,
  Stephen

5V was a failure. D3 is not booting anymore. Try to reset.

Sorry the info was not complete, set voltage to 5 and set frequency to ~450 (if that's stable you can later on try to increase it)

Hi @all,

as probably some of you have exchanged fans - what kind of model / type would you guys recommend? How many RPM fans are you using to get the D3 quiet?
Mine are currently running at 2500-3000rpm with original fans. Any recommendations?

And thanks Blissz, for starting this and still working on an even better custom FW. :-)

I run it with the 120mm 2000rpm Scythe Slip Stream fans, but that only works if you run it at the lowest voltage setting. A relative silent 2500 to 3000rpm would be better. Anybody got suggestions?

Yes, I think I found one:
http://noctua.at/en/products/product-line-industrial/nf-f12-industrialppc-3000-pwm

This one looks quite promising actually. I just ordered some (they are not cheap!) and I'll give them a try over the weekend...

I have installed the Noctua NF-F12

Ambient temp: 16°C
Fan: 3.000rpm = 65dB (AUTO Performance)
Clock: 500 MHz
Voltage: 9V
Max Chip-Temp: 86°C
18.730 MH/s
Accepted: 100%
Hardware errors: 0 (after 30min)
Usage: 1.020 Watt

Testing again

Thanks for this!

You're really on the maximum with that fan as the max chip temp is quite high. I would advice to lower the voltage to setting 5 and see how much hashrate you could get with that. Your max chip temp will stay below 80 deg then I guess

After I flushed 28/11 d3 did reboot but not showing up on the network, no communication between aisic and the network, I can't get back to the other firmware version... what to do?

Hi Bliss, the chip temperatures are wacky with this new update. It either shows very low or high temps on one chain, 14 or 125 degrees C. Every time I reboot the miner it will change between low or high temps.

version 26/11 was ok for you?
https://mega.nz/#!f5hhlKzQ!b9I4qRJfROD9trRuJ5IH-B3FZcPe_-FjZRJS7u_tWRE

I didn’t run that version. Do you recommend I should use it instead?

I do think the next version will solve your issue. My advice: leave 28/11 installed and set your fan to a manual speed for now. I am currently testing the next version.

Nice find! Thanks for trying these out. Let us know the results if you got them  Wink

I cannot post a link, but, I saw a guy on youtube, who put his antminer S9 inside of a Beer Cooler cut and inlet for a pipe, and an outlet w/ a pipe.

He takes the cool air from his basement and sends the hot out of his airco house basement window out the dryer hose outlet!

Now thats cool But I am going to one up it:

I am heating my house on the D3+ and its -4C outside.

I have not burned wood for four days. Now thats a Plus! I bet I spend 50 on wood a month...hmmm.

Dash 700? oh man , Life will be fine. Just gotta get rid of a wife...
