How do you think, guys, should I send defective chain to Bitmain for repair?
make a photos with guarantee labels and serial (both side).
disassemble and look inside.
may be piece of paper, leaf, dead bug or something else that close air flow for one blade.
Once I found a stucco while unpack new DLINK router.
If all clear inside, then make ticket at bitmain for repair (and they request photo about I talk at begin)

Hi Blissz..

How do I know which version of firmware that I am running now? Sounds silly as I did not write it down as a note..LOL..
I tried using Bitmain Miner Tool, it only shows "unknown". With officical Bitmain's firmare, it will show..

Noob here. Installed 29/11.  Temp(Chip) 46,73,78.  Fan2:4440  Fan1:3390
Any advice?  Should the temp and rpm be more balanced?
Thanks

How are you guys monitoring energy usage?  I have a kill-a-watt on my D3 (120v) currently, but I'm adding a 240v circuit and will be using a PDU when my 2nd D3 gets in, but I'm not sure if there is an energy monitor I can get that plugs into the PDU.

So, are all of you that are quoting your wattage using 120v and using a kill-a-watt, or is anyone on 240v?  If so, how are you monitoring the wattage?
thanks

Just ordered this, says it's good to 240v for $17. I'll use them for timers after checking out the D3 usage. My kill a watt says only 120v, not trying that Smiley

I'm not sure how you're going to plug that into a 6-anything outlet... must have adapters or something?

I can confirm those Zettaguard units (and the HomeMate App) also work great on 220-240v@60hz (US).  The packaging says nothing about 240v, so it was a bit scary the first time I powered on.  But yes, adapters may be required if you order the US versions.  I think their internals don't vary for the international versions... hence why they work across standards.  Not sure about 50hz countries though.

I preferred all my 240v stuff be L6-20 or L6-30, but these guys made me build an inline adapter to Edison so I can selectively monitor 240v.

Do note that they are still rated for 15A, which may be below what your 240v PDU outputs are rated for.   Max 2 D3s per Zettaguard at 240v, 1 each would probably be safer unless you are using 2400+w server supplies and have no choice.

Hi @all,

as probably some of you have exchanged fans - what kind of model / type would you guys recommend? How many RPM fans are you using to get the D3 quiet?
Mine are currently running at 2500-3000rpm with original fans. Any recommendations?

And thanks Blissz, for starting this and still working on an even better custom FW. :-)

I run it with the 120mm 2000rpm Scythe Slip Stream fans, but that only works if you run it at the lowest voltage setting. A relative silent 2500 to 3000rpm would be better. Anybody got suggestions?

Yes, I think I found one:
http://noctua.at/en/products/product-line-industrial/nf-f12-industrialppc-3000-pwm

This one looks quite promising actually. I just ordered some (they are not cheap!) and I'll give them a try over the weekend...

I have installed the Noctua NF-F12 (3.000rpm = 65dB)

Ambient temp: 16°C
Fan: (AUTO Performance) ~75%
Clock: 500 MHz
Voltage: 9V
Max Chip-Temp: 86°C
18.730 MH/s
Accepted: 100%
Hardware errors: 0 (after 30min)
Usage: 1.020 Watt

Testing again

Fan loudness curve:
10 %   44 dB   750 rpm
15 %   45 dB   875 rpm
20 %   47 dB   1.000 rpm
25 %   48 dB   1.125 rpm
30 %   49 dB   1.250 rpm
35 %   50 dB   1.375 rpm
40 %   51 dB   1.500 rpm
45 %   52 dB   1.625 rpm
50 %   54 dB   1.750 rpm
55 %   55 dB   1.875 rpm
60 %   56 dB   2.000 rpm
65 %   57 dB   2.125 rpm
70 %   58 dB   2.250 rpm
75 %   59 dB   2.375 rpm
80 %   60 dB   2.500 rpm
85 %   62 dB   2.625 rpm
90 %   63 dB   2.750 rpm
95 %   64 dB   2.875 rpm
100 %   65 dB   3.000 rpm

Did I read the thread correctly that you opted against these after testing?  I was also curious why their website advertises 43db when you were measuring 60ish.   There must be some rule about the distance of the measurement that is standard?   43db would have been a win over the stock fans for sure (but lower RPM/flow of course).

(Edit: if so too bad, the 6 year warranty is hella-appealling!  You could migrate your fans to the next gen of 120mm ASIC miners).

Hi blissz, I'm using your firmware for my 2 d3s. One of them run smoothly but the other one has noise ramping up at the beginning (about 1-2 seconds). The smooth one always has the same fan speed and produce less noise than the second one which always has different fan speed. Now, the second one has 1,590   2,460 with 17% setting.
Can you fix it? Thanks
