.05 per day per antminer is very good. I wouldnt change a thing. I am making about .039 I think

He is making 0.05 per day for both. That is about 32 usd per day. Assuming he's using 900 W (overclocked, otherwise daily earnings would be a bit lower), that's 21 kwh/day. At 0.15/kwh that is 3 usd per day in electricity, for a net profit of about 29 usd per day. Over a three month period that translates to spending a bit under $300 for electricity and around $1400 hardware cost.

The point I am trying to make is that if this a profitable business model, with difficulty going up every 10-12 days it will take long time to break even.

He will break even on hardware in probably 50 days (after factoring in electricity) and from that point on be making a profit. Will he get rich? No. Will he make some money? Sure. If you could make enough per month to cover a car payment after 50 days why not?

My goal is to make enough each month to cover child care for my new and first baby coming up.

It all depends how fast you think the difficulty is going to go up and what you think the bitcoin price is going to do. No one can answer that for you.

Bitcoin is a volatile market because price and difficulty level, also your costs are important I do mining and I sold 1000s Antminers S1 and other miners I saw many customers of all sizes making profit. But is risky if you can't afford to loose money avoid Bitcoin mining.

Is my personal opinion.

Could you guys tell me how much in BTC your machine is making?

I don't overclock so I get about .03 day. My stats are here:

http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/17PHEZaiJqARt7GkBC8MLRijUDSgAgpH9P

The gaps are when I mine alt coins. But I've mostly been doing BTC all this week.

I have been mining with 2 units for about 3 days now on Eligius Pool, it appears that both units are making about .05 BTC per day with the current difficulty, I spent about 2.85 BTC plus 2 PSU for about $225, this is a test for me, thinking about buying about 20 units but wonder if it makes any business sense.

Could you guys tell me how much in BTC your machine is making?

Any input would be appreciated.

The real factor is electricity cost and required cooling.  Antminers generally make sense for anyone <0.15/kwh in a cooler climate or <$0.10/kwh in a warmer climate where airconditioning is a necessity.

Summer is coming, and there are going to be some very hot datacenters

Ant miners work wonderfully well with p2pool, which helps the bitcoin network stay decentralized, and there are never payout issues since p2pool always mines coins directly to your wallet.

P2pool has been struggling to maintain and grow its hash rate to keep up with the network and needs your help to grow. If we can get to say 20-30% of the network (an ambitious target), we can help prevent any future 51% attacks.

What is the best pool right now for someone new coming out of the gate?

eligius.st

Even though I am currently on BTCGuild I am also considering moving my miners to eligius as BTCGuild has increased their hashrate and my total shares has dropped.

So yeah, at the time eligius is your best bet.

Eligius is having payout issues, twice in a week I've had to wait up to 3 days for a payout  Angry  You don't lose any shares or BTC,it keeps adding up but it goes into failover or whatever & the payouts are delayed  Roll Eyes

I'm back at BTCGuild until Eligius fixes their pool......................................

Cryptocurrency Rules man!
How do you get a coupon?  Huh

Buy right before a price drop and they'll give you a coupon for the price drop you can use on your next order.

okay. nice.
