29 Antminers seems like a pain..

If you want, i can come up with a faster method for you to fix. Could just host the file somewhere so you just need to perform a wget and replace.

Note: Not to take sides, but this kind of error is somewhat understandable. Bitmain probably got all the functionality working and went back in and added some instructions to the file, but didn't think to test after adding the instructions.

Additional side note: This looks like the Antminer C1 firmware based on the fact it references 4x fans. Probably was pushed out ahead of the Antminer C1 to address the complaining about cgminer 4.6.1 not be present in the S3 firmware.

Watch out for the "Neg-Rep-Dogie-Police".....
I got it. Had to re-download & re-flash again, but I then found your line 67 & edited it accordingly - I can now edit the miner config  Grin

What a joke - if Bitmain think that I'm gonna do this with my other 29 S3's, they can forget it  Cheesy Cheesy

I grow weary of Bitmain uploading & selling untested & untried firmware & hardware - what kind of company does this? How can they NOT test something to make sure it actually works before releasing it to the public?

Unbelievable  Roll Eyes

many thanks for the heads up Ustler - nice one  Wink

I repeat:

USE THIS FIRMWARE AT YOUR PERIL

@Bitmain - really? I mean, REALLY?

It's bad enough waiting over 9 weeks for the promised S2 firmware, but uploading this obviously untested piece of garbage for everyone to brick their S3 with is just stunning. Spectacular even......

@PatMan;

Yes, pretty sure is cgminer.lua.

On the Status-->Overview page, does the date reflect 10/13 as firmware date (shown in screenshot below):

Yes, I'm in cgminer.lua - there are 64 lines of syntax, my line 64 says only "return m" (without the quotes)

EDIT: Typed in "/Save&" - not found. Are you sure it's in cgminer.lua?

My line 64 contains.. Total number of lines should be 67...

pb = conf:taboption("advanced", Value, "voltage", translate("voltage"),"Modify voltage and Save&Apply, then need to Power off and Restart")

Easiest way to find it is probably by typing in

"/Save&"

After Step 3.

Did you re-upgrade to new FW image?

Watch out for the "Neg-Rep-Dogie-Police".....
S3 firmware containing cgminer 4.6.1 has a issue with one of the config pages (preventing you from modifying the "Miner Configuration" page) in certain browsers (due to XML error)

To fix:

4) Locate the "Save&Apply" section

The resulting line should look like
pb = conf:taboption("advanced", Value, "voltage", translate("voltage"),"Modify voltage and Save&Apply, then need to Power off and Restart")

Do not attempt unless you know what you are doing.

Bitmain may simply fix this in the firmware so it may be worth the wait.

What line is the save&apply on? I can see 64 lines but no save&apply reference...... Wink

Thanks  Smiley

@PatMan:

Just went through all the config pages, not seeing any other issues.. If you run into one, just let me know.

Here is what the config page looks like with the fix:

(Note: In my case I just changed & to " and ". If you follow my original instructions it would show up as "Save&Apply").. Smiley

@PatMan

Can you list out the various errors you had on pages? I can probably provide fixes for them rather quickly.

I would note that after upgrading, my 2x antminers are hashing much faster.. Reduction in HW errors on one Ant Smiley

S3 firmware containing cgminer 4.6.1 has a issue with one of the config pages (preventing you from modifying the "Miner Configuration" page) in certain browsers (due to XML error)

To fix:

1) Putty to S3
2) Navigate to /usr/lib/lua/luci/model/cbi/cgminer/
3) vi cgminer.lua
4) Locate the "Save&Apply" section
5) Press i to insert
6) Navigate to right after the & and change this to "&"
7) Press escape and enter ":wq"

The resulting line should look like
pb = conf:taboption("advanced", Value, "voltage", translate("voltage"),"Modify voltage and Save&Apply, then need to Power off and Restart")

Well, I've tried four times to load this firmware & it failed every time. It just renders your Ant unusable, I had to reflash the older firmware again to get it usable again. I had various errors, not able to access the miner conf page was the worst one - all I got was this:

Tried reboots, cold reboots, keeping settings, not keeping settings & overwriting 3 times. The MD5 checked out too. This firmware sucks the big one.

I've updated literally 100's of these things without issue, so if anyone got this to work? I'd love to hear from you........ Wink

Just upgraded one of my miners, and get the following error at the top of the miner configuration tab.

+1

did u tell it not to import the old config?

and yes of course this will overwrite the 4.61 cgminer since this overwrites the whole operating system.

How can I know what batch I have? Stupid question but I can't find it nowhere.. I bought it second hand.

B8 and so on has a sticker on it that says S3+.  I'm really unsure prior to b8, it would be nice to know as well.

S3+, which means S3 B8 and the following batches, has a faster hashing speed, 453Gh/s than the one from the previous batches, which hash at rated 440Gh/s.

not exactly true. bitmain simply stated they SHOULD mine at X.
My older batches mine at 505gh/s and 495gh/s. me S3+'s mine at 505gh/s and 495gh/s

Hello,

I'm having trouble connecting to 1 AntMiner with ssh (I can't connect directly to the web interface because it is in a server room somewhere else).
Whenever I try to connect to the miner this error pops up:
Code:
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
@    WARNING: REMOTE HOST IDENTIFICATION HAS CHANGED!     @
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
IT IS POSSIBLE THAT SOMEONE IS DOING SOMETHING NASTY!
Someone could be eavesdropping on you right now (man-in-the-middle attack)!
It is also possible that a host key has just been changed.
The fingerprint for the RSA key sent by the remote host is
39:xx:xx.....
Please contact your system administrator.
Add correct host key in .ssh/known_hosts to get rid of this message.
Offending RSA key in .ssh/known_hosts:1
RSA host key for [xx.xx.xx.xx]:xxxx has changed and you have requested strict checking.
Host key verification failed.

I've tried to delete the .ssh/known_hosts file several times now. But the error keeps coming back. Also I noticed that my hashrate dropped on the pool I'm mining on. Anyone else had this issue before?

I've managed to reset the firmware on the antminer, but now it constantly says the password is incorrect. Used both my custom pw and default password

There's another computer on that network with the same IP address. Did you set it to a static IP address or dhcp? You'll have to either contact your host and give them your MAC address and IP, and ask them to find the conflict, or do your best to change your IP to something else that's not in use. If you're using dhcp, then release/renewing your lease may fix it, but ideally you shouldn't have IP conflicts on your network.

ALSO...
When you are setting up a few different machines, if you SSH to the 192.168.0.99 ip before changing it, your SSH client stored a KEY for the first one, now when u set up a 2nd one, and connect to that IP u will get this message because now you have connected to 2 machines of the same IP but a different KEY...
You need to delete the key for that ip out of the SSH cache...
There is no reason to SSH to the device at the default IP, you should go to the GUI first and change the IP then ssh to the new IP.

if anyone wants to use the new firmware just change the view till its fixed go to

The System page then look under Language and Style, change design from Open writ to bootstrap, if you don't like that look you can change it back after you make any adjustments till they fix it .

SO far so good the new firmware seems to run the ants way better no HW errors at all if i stay at defaults with the old firmware even at defaults i was getting HW errors. Now so far i only start seeing them when i try to do any Over clocking. it even look  like now by the UI we might just be able to over clock like we can with  video cards either tweak the firmware /bios or use the UI like we do with MSI  afterburner if you game or use video cards to mine.)"!.  no more need to pencil it, if you like to under volt to keep the  heat down and then over clock.

Tried it on one S3, I'm getting the following message when I get into the configuration tab:
Code:
XML Parsing Error: not well-formed Location: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/cgi-bin/luci/;stok=790c91407384aced396168d58731120d/admin/status/miner/ Line Number 348, Column 34:	Modify voltage and Save&Apply, then need to Power off and Restart -------------------------------------------------------------^

Any ideas?

Cheers
Went back to antMiner_S320140826.bin, seems to be back to normal (needed to reinstall CK's 461 cgminer, which was 'nuked' by reverting to this earlier f/w)
