Router and everything is definetly not the problem.
IP adresses work 100% and other miners than S5 have no issues at all.

Nicehash might be an option, i will switch 10 to another pool and see if it changes.
Any idea why nicehash crashes them?

Nope but when I moved mine to f2pool they were up for weeks instead of rebooting them daily.

Isn't this because of the lack of "extranonce" support? (dunno, just throwing the idea up there)

I have been on Nicehash for 24 hours and have had to reboot twice. I think the low difficulty of mining shitcoins sends an AntMiner into a circle jerk on the Interwebs. Am I right here? Smiley

Strange, my s5 working with nicehash for weeks and no problem at all.
About control board: try reflashing firmware without save settings. Sometimes that helps get rid of problems

I've heard this before but all I can say is that for me Nicehash doesn't work even with new firmware.

I have 20 S5 running since one week.
ALL of them freqently (within 12-24 hours) get "lost.
I cannot acces them through webinterface and not trhough putty.
They are mining (all lights show normal operation and they are hot), but NOT at my pools. No hashrate there.
I have restart them by pulling power, then they work again normal for a few hours.
Running different firmwares, happens with all of them. None of the other miners (S2s, S3s) is doing this.
Makes me think if i bought 20 pieces of crap or if somebody guilt in a backdoor to have them mining for somebody else frequently.

I cant watch the miners 24 hours a day and then drive over to trhe place to pull power twice a day.

No answer from bitmain.

Anybody with similar problems or a solution?

Try a different pool. This used to happen to me with Nicehash.

On your router make sure you have assigned those static IP’s (usually give them a name on the router: Ant_1, Ant_2….).  So the router knows not to change or re-assign those IP’s in the future.

Me, I also have MAC filtering on, so I have to assign them on the router too.

Set "static" lease for every miner mac address.

AFAIK there is no working solution to running S5 off SD card. There are instructions for recovery via SD but its not a full restore and will only work in some cases.
The recovery image has a reflash script in it that should fully re-image the emmc. It should work in all cases where the beaglebone hardware is undamaged.
It would appear it first zeros out the emmc then copies the firmware files from itself. You can look at /etc/init.d/initc_emmc_flash.sh to see the rest of how this seems to be done. Last I remember you could keep running it off of the SD card after this process but I haven't checked in a while. It would actually be fairly easy to remove part of this script so it just keeps running off of the SD card and doesn't flash the emmc in case you didn't want to touch the internal memory.

Hmm. When I tried it it didn't appear to do anything. Maybe my board was more than just a software brick.

No, it's just your usual waffle. If you do not know something, don't comment rather than confuse users with your ignorance.

Can someone that knows please tell me how to set voltage on an S5? I have tried setting it via the cgminer config file and restarting cgminer but the API still reports a voltage of 0725
String design, you must raise voltage on your psu. Simple formula vin/15=voltage per chip

May I ask what you mean by string design?  The ASICs are in series?  Then the S3+'s are also string design?  I have a dead S3+ beyond warranty I'm trying to fix.

Series exactly is a more pro term for it then "STRING".

could some of you guys put the price and roi estimated of this relation ships of this ant miner s4 and s5 it seems it takes like 8 months to roi and the watts my god sorry my mining skills are not that big

you will never ROI the S4+ or S5 unless you have other miners to help. unless you have completely free energy.. then it will take like 215+ days.

at this point it is best to buy BTC and hold it.

Two words for you:

might have figured out where that resistor went.. one of my hashing boards shut off earlier. no X's or anything, all o's.. it just stopped working.. the red light was off and the miner was running around 600 ghs and the board was only 28c.

i turned it off and back on and it started back up again. i guess ill keep an eye out on it.. maybe ill try the new firmware.

Actually my firmware  based only on official sources(cgminer) i only add some nice looking graphs and tweaked a bit cgminer code to better support nicehash(revert old patch, apply new patch). Bitmain testing my firmwares, but looks like they decided to use old cgminer(dunno why,  they don't told me Cheesy). In next release i plan to add crontab as many people asking me to do so.

nice to hear i hope it goes your stuff is nice . Smit1237 one of my S5 i have to use bitmains official firmware on or it does some really strange stuff if I use yours on it but my other S5 work better with your version then the official firmware, i never told you about sense it works fine with there firmware, i did not see a need to say anything. i just wish they would fix #xnsub so it worked every were like yours does and not just on a few sites.

bitmain it is out of warr so no bigie it still works fine, as long as i use your firmware on that one .

I see the S4 + is out not a bad price  wondering if well see a

ANTMINER S5+ with improved cooling and  maybe at 1.8 or 2 th maybe ,,, hoping hoping. at about the Same S5 price  Cool Cheesy ? .

Idc what power it uses at this point i have to start using a 240 line to many miners on my 110 lines time to start using the 240 line , i had put in  . Smiley .

Youre right, but now i must scream at all corners this firmware for advanced users and blah blah blah.
Sad, that people don't realize simple thing that this firmware not official, so no guarantee not to fry something Undecided
Btw that's the reason i think, why bitmain stay at cgminer 4.8.0 i should keep an eye on their github repo for updates

Luckily my 4 blades  all  working , but I got more, as 120 degrees Celsius , after syscooling pump failure.
This is the first time that I had to  replace the hoses after miner overheating.

I'm even pleasantly surprised, that all 4 blades  survived.  After remove the hoses,  came out only  hot steam and boiling water  Grin

The warranty is only 90 days , shipped  2015-01-13. So is warranty already over.

I have several S5 built to 4 blades. Water-cooled and also  the air-cooled models.

2,3 TH/s miner is better than the 1,15 TH/s, if I have a total of 35 Antminer S5.

The only problem is that You began to modify Bitmaintech first S5 software. The first  software does not support 4 blade.
All of the following Bitmaintech S5 software versions supporting  3 or 4 blades at one S5 controller.
