With the open style of the s5, can you have a push/push or pull/pull setup?  Or would that be to much?  I ended up ordering another Delta fan off of Ebay $20.  I unplugged the stock fan, and the temps went up to 58/63.  Still not bad, but I like to be under 60.  This is at stock setting, also.

Pull pull wouldn't work as its too open, push push would be interested but will likely have a large deadspot in the middle which might not come up on the temps. Stick with push pull if you can.

Write me please EU service center contact to speed up my defective blades problem resolving...

Thank you!

also, for the dead S5 or defective S5, turn around time via US/EU service center is as usual in just a few days.

Once the batch 5 is sold out, batch 6 in June 9th is the only S5...

Please wait for the official announcement for the next available miners.

i would love to buy it but i have a feeling it will consume too much electricity from where i am. i have tried an online calculator. will breakeven in 3months or something, making maybe another version of the product to come out. i guess i will stay on this thread and once the next one is out, kindly let me know . i dont know if you have a customer list or something

What's the minimum per fan CFM on a 2x fan setup?

I'm able to run at a frequency of 250M hashing almost 800GH/s with two old PSU fans. These fans can't be more than 20 CFM each. This thing seems stable just below 50 deg.

If you want to run it at default freq (350) you need minimum 200 cfm in my opinion.
Something like 2 120 cfm fan using a push pull setup should work.

Be sure to be below 60 on each blade.

I am running a 113 CFM fan (Delta AFB1212SH) in push at 350 with temp only 61/57 when ambient is at 30C. I am sure miner temp would be even lower at lower ambient. I might try push pull or leave it as is since I am very satisfied with much lower noise. See my detailed post a page or two above.
BTW, it is a legend that you need to be below 60C, stably below 65 is fine-I run S5 like this (at 58-62C) for months before using Noctua.
AFB1212SH is 40% of the Noctua price.

Would a Silverstone 1500W Power Supply be a good option to run 2x S5's?

I see that you guys have the "newer" heatsink. I was given the heatsink similar to the S3s.

I've done some research, made some measurements and experimented with some 2-wire 120mm fans from old PSUs.

I believe that two of the following fans will work in push/pull configuration to run at stock frequency (350M) or higher without going for gold in a banshee screeching contest.

http://www.cougargaming.com/products/fans/vortex_pwm.html

"Cougar Vortex" $11.89 USD each at the local shop.

Not enough CFM. These fans do max 70 cfm. ( I did try the same setup)

You need more cfm. Check the delta fans.  Wink

@Pekatete,

if your purcahse was within the last 90-days, please e-mail [email protected] and attach your Order Confirmation page in PDF with your shipping address information.  There is a service center in Serbia that may be able to service you closer than USA.

It is just inside 90 days, so I'll send an email to the above address and see what comes of it. Not sure what the wording should be in the email though (seeing it was [email protected] who told me to get one from the local market) .... I'd like to get a replacement fan as the shipped one was a DOA .... would that suffice?
