Can anyone tell me what all these LEDs on the controller board and hash boards mean?

I know what the two main LEDs mean.

also, anyone tried Push&Pull with stock S5 fans on S5 to see any favorable result in reducing heat or noise?

I did and it's very loud but ran very cool for me but the noise was to much , so I went back to my two delta fans i will post screenies  if asked to . that was even putting heat sinks on the two chips still to much noise but nice and cool.

I tried it, just makes 2x the noise and not a lot of additional cooling Tongue The best configuraiton is 2x stock S3 fans as they're just the right strength to get the job done while not simultaneously sucking your face off.

That's funnily because i did that my temps dropped to the 40s push pulling two stack S5 fans but the noise if you want I'll put then back on and screen shot it i figured how to on the forums i think that was OC to 393 or close it held at 47 or so with those fan the noise was to much for me .

I would not be surprised that if we see a strong upsurge in price, miners would become very very hard to come by and sold at a primo price.

If, hypothetically speaking of course, we say BTC rise to $500, $600, or higher levels; manufacturers of mining equipment would adjust prices accordingly.

And in my opinion we see these manufacturers pulling items from the shelves - that might be a sign that the big players are anticipating a move upwards- knowing they could sell the unit on even a moderate correction back downwards in price yet seize the mining returns in the mean time.

Just my two cents.

Just got home after testing my push/pull configuration with the fans I bought.  Couldn't get them to run under 80 C at stock frequency with the two fans I put on them, so turned them down to 300 and they are able to stay around 70 to 75 C.  Kind of sucks not being able to run them at full strength, but still averaging around 1 TH/s this way and the fans are under 25 decibels, which makes my parents very happy.

Still haven't seen one of these suckers in Australia. I'm really wishing I could get one but the current exchange rate is brutal.

Oh yea, you Australians are getting clobbered on the exchange at about 75 cents to the USD. Ouch  Shocked

For anyone looking to put slightly quieter fans (that still get the job done) on their S5, here's a dang good deal on a pair of Delta AFB-1212SHE.  This seems to be a popular choice for reducing dBs while still keeping temps under the 60C target.

Two fans for 20 bucks shipped.  Not sure what's up with the 4-pin connecter, something looks off about it.  I just placed an order and will update when they come in.  Hope this helps someone.

yeah, that's the one phil found and many people were using.
the connector is NOT PWM, though, so you would have to cut it off, then cut off the default fan connector and splice it on a new fan wires.

there strange looking you many end up putting on new ends i bought two of them thinking what a deal . they don't fit the miners four pins to big even if you try to make it fit holes don't line up for the pins, plug is to big. and  they have very long wires.

Yeah, that's why I added the caveat that speeds might have to be slowed down quite a bit. It would be interesting to see how much, but based on cooling S1s with similar specced fans I would guess you'd probably be ok running at 600-800GH/s in a 20-25C room.

Lucky people mining at 20C Sad The heat removal of 20C air is nearly double that of 40C air for a 60C heatsink, no fair.

Also, nice on providing links with and without the affiliate and making it apparent that the one is an affiliate link.

Its a question I posted in my survey, with surprisingly indifferent results so far. When asked "If it was made clearer that links may contain affiliate tags (Amazon etc), would you be more or less likely to view / purchase through them?", 25% answered "Much more likely (to support)" and the other 75% "No change".

I read back a few pages looking for information about changing the fans on the S5's but was unable to find any information so I am starting the discussion over.

I received my 2 S5's yesterday and my parents promptly said "no" to the noise going on in the backroom from them.  So now I need to replace the fans and my thinking was just to put 2 of them on either end like the S3 and call it good.  I noticed on the controller for the S5, there are 2 4 pin slots so I figure this should be fine, but wanted to double check.  I am thinking of running out and getting these today...
http://www.microcenter.com/product/423765/Air_Series_AF120_LED_Red_Quiet_Edition_Twin_Pack
and putting one on either end of each S5, but they are 3 pin connectors, should that be fine or should I find ones with 4 pin connectors (I thought 3 pin can plug into 4 pin slots?)  Also the airflow is 52.19 CFM, should that be sufficient to cool an S5?

Thanks in advance, I appreciate all feedback
They should run fine with two of those fans using the 3 pin connector, but you won't have speed control. Depending on your ambient you might have to throttle down the speed quite a bit to keep the miner cool.

Don't use the quiet editions, they really are rather week and I doubt they'll be sufficient at any sort of ambient. The AF120 performance editions are much better suited as they're moderately high pressure but still at an acceptable noise level. I use them all the time to 'silence' various miners without trashing their cooling [Without affiliate] [With affiliate]. There are also PWM versions if you think you'll need it in the future [Without affiliate] [With affiliate].
