Well shit, who is getting coupons?  Is Bitmain keeping it a secret or something?  My last purchase was for a couple of S5s way the hell back in Dec. or Jan.

this^^

mining is literally dead for majority of world, where they can afford to invest over 2k USD (price + import tax + PSU), simply because electricity costs and power consumption is so high.

for those, which want to invest hard earned 2k US dollars and not living next to power grid in China, I recommend to buy BTC from some exchange - price is now quite low. at this price point, this fancy miner is for chinese farmers or investors in some developing countries.

sadly.

Who is getting coupons and how much are they for?  I'm just a small time home miner but I've been with Bitmain for the S1, S3, and S5 and I didn't get any coupons but I don't know what exactly qualifies you for one.  My rate is 0.13KWh and I'd be fine with the 270 day ROI.  The days of ROI in 3 months, constantly upgrading your hardware, and consistent huge leaps in difficulty are long behind us.  Plus winter will be upon us in a few short months so the cost will be offset because I'll hardly ever need my furnace to turn on with 1200-2400 watts of ASICs.  I would be willing to buy 1 or 2 at this price, but once I factor in shipping fees, the block halving on the visible horizon, AND the fact that we are guaranteed to see a rise in difficulty once these start hitting the market turns in into a no-go for me.

EDIT : I see the coupons are 100$.  I assume only for S5+ buyers?

I am new to coupons. Today I received 10 Coupon counts which says AntMiner S7 Coupon 100 USD. Does that mean I have 10x100 USD = 1000 USD Coupon? Can these coupons be used all at once or 10 orders separately?

They have never been stackable, assume they are sticking to the same model, that means you can buy 10 S7s at $100 off each.

Looks like coupons have been sent out.

Got two of em.  Looks like they paid attention at least a little to the price point being a bit scary for people.

how much is the coupon worth?

I could use one if anyone has one to offer.

now we are talkin'

The difference here is that the S7 has two fans and temperature control / cutoff, as well as much higher quality heatsinks.

How do the heatsinks on the other side of the board look like? Are they glued on also?

Very similar to S5+. I don't know how these will be attached but the early S5+ heatsinks were thermal taped and the later ones thermal glue'ed.

So are there pictures of the other side of the S5+ heatsink?

Mining still dead in the UK at $0.23, and shipping to a host is probably going to be a year to breakeven when the inevitable diff rises happen so no new machines for me Sad
Who are you with, I'm on 8p/KWh (0.12$/KWh).

My usual spreadsheet, people have said it's been useful in the past.

Price doesn't include shipping, import taxes if applicable or PSU's. Assumes static diff and BTC price, it's just to give a rough idea
