Firstly I will say the market value at the time will determine how long to hold, an investor might not have to hold that long to make good profit.
Personally I'm just a beginner in crypto so I can't tell if I can hold for as long as 6-12 months or more

Yeah its very possible. But which coin to invest in that will give such mad profits, no one knows. Just keep researching and make sure you purchase coins that have viable use case.
Although not a year and the price has reached the target we expect maybe we will stop at the target. Because the time period is more effective to make a profit because it is easier to predict the price. Actually I think it does not have to be on time 1 year to get profit, time is only used as reference only

Most of the money that I have made in the cryptocurrency has been from holding bitcoin and ethereum for about a year, I got lucky I guess because the market went bullish by the ending of last year and the price mooned at the beginning of this year. I sold my bitcoins when the price was at about $15,000 and have only just gotten back into the market by buying the last dip.
Maybe it is not completely predictable. all of this depends on the State of the market the time too. lucky if since the 12-month price rise high. But if getting down to bad results thus obtained. holding sometimes indeed produce, however, the risk faced is also great.
Yes, anyone can earn money in 6-12 months. Some people may even earn a lot of money in 1-2 months. I understand that some people earn high profits through leveraged transactions on the stock exchange, but this is extremely risky. I don't think that this stage is always holding high profits unless you have bitcoins many years ago.
I have been investing in crypto currencies since August 2017. So far, in my 9 months of experience with crypto currencies, I have already preserved my capital and still investing for long term thru cost averaging method. I am taking profit from time to time upon reaching the goals I set but not selling all of it. I buy more than the average cost usually whenever there's a dip. Investment is like planting a seed, nourish it, take care of it, reap profit, then plant it again.
In fact, keeping a long-term coin or exchange for a short period of time depends on the potential of the coin and the market from time to time. Sometimes it's not going to be profitable for long periods of time ... I do not hold the long-term or short-term investment goal with the right change for the sake of making a lot of money.

I had a very cool profit last December. I sold 75% of Bitcoins when the cryptocurrency reached its maximum. 25% were left, and now, I am not going to sell BTC as I believe that it will grow again.
Of course you can make big profit with hold coin. But, I don't think that hold BTC, ETH, LTC, and strong Alt will make big profit in short time. At least you need more than years to earn big profit. I more prefer invest ICO but it's need to careful because many ICO are SCAM.
hi, to be honest i didnt for my own money but i have some Investors which bought Verge for example over me when it was 70-80 Sat or DGB when he was 60 Sat and holded really long... The DGB guy was out at 2000 Sats but the Verge guy is still holding because of confidence that Verge will explode sooner or later... Iam not holding STuff so long mostly i like to Swimm with the Hype for some small % except i see it will breakout like 'BCN yesterday then i keep as it makes no sense to sell something if you are 100% up and the thing still goes like Crazy... The question is not so specified. These people are and now they flaunt on the covers of Forbes. These are bitcoin holders. I think you would like to learn about the benefits of such retention with normal and appropriate coins. And not with bitcoin, which can enrich or drive into the pit. (Ethereum.....)

I always sold the earned altcoins right away, but my friend does not (he always kept them). In the totals he always got more profit than me. Now I never sell all altcoins at once. I try to hold.
In a bull market, as long as you don't buy the MLM, you can basically make some profit!

Mine isn't profit yet as I haven't sold but my value has increased pretty nicely over the last 12 months, its helps that I got into in while coins were relatively cheap but my plan is to continue holding for another 6 months or so and then reevaluate
