I think altcoin is not boycotted, it's just that right now we are in the bear market which makes the value of altcoin continue to decline. since 2018 until now there has been no increase for altcoin. up some and fall deeper. this makes investors afraid to invest in altcoin the risk is too great. while bitcoin even though it is also experiencing a downward trend but bitcoin is still experiencing a few percent increase. in July bitcoin rose to $ 13,000 and last October bitcoin also rose by a little $ 10,000. so investors think it's better to invest in bitcoin safer and less risk.

Not that boycotted as a whole but in some ways, yes many of them are being ignored because of the performance that the market showed last year. To be specific, bitcoin also didn't do good last year and this turned into the minds of every investor that investing into alt is riskier than bitcoin. I think we've seen bitcoin's dominance around 75% this year and that only means that investors are still there and still believing into bitcoin so no matter how many altcoins can be seen to be good, many are not willing to take higher risk.

Bitcoin dominance is above 65% which is something unusual ...

Bitcoin dominance over 65% is not unusual. It is total normal. I believe its place is between 55% and 75%.  Bitcoin dominance was for long time over 90%. Thinking that at 65% is unusual is a bit silly.

Agreed. I think just in comparison to altcoin seasons, it seems a bit odd.

What does seem unusual however is the almost complete lack of any real upwards movement for any alts (I'm not counting the little coins that do their pump thing). The entire market has been pretty stagnant or in decline. I remember years ago that even in bear markets, we'd at least see the occasional coin do the 10x thing once in a while. Nowadays 2x seems like a miracle.

Bitcoin dominance is above 65% which is something unusual since Altcoins started getting more interest from investors. It also seems that this percentage is increasing steadily for quite some time now. This is not surprising since Bitcoin was the most profitable coin in 2019 and people don't take the risk investing in altcoins anymore, they realized that Bitcoin is less risky as the price almost always eventually recover afterwards when it comes to BTC.

So what  to do you think? Are altcoin getting boycotted, giving Bitcoin an increasing dominance from now on?

Altcoins aren't getting ignored or boycotted rather people are looking for the best ways to be safe in this space since it is obvious that many altcoins aren't worth it. Also, why it looked like they are getting boycotted is that, only few altcoins such as ETH are performing well with a great number dieing off. Moreover, Bitcoin have a higher chance of recovery more than most altcoins which is also another reason for its increasing dominance and decreasing interest in most altcoins.

There is a gradual decline in the crave for altcoins. Imagine where investors are more exposed to losses through them, it means that such factor is strong enough to reduce their interests. Although, old coins doing greatly well in the market are still being invested in, except for the new ones.

No, I think that over time the situation will inevitably change in the direction of altcoins, and the dominance of bitcoin will fall. The cryptocurrency market does not stand still and it develops due to altcoins. Now, just many expect the restoration of bitcoin at the previous price and therefore the level of its dominance is high. This situation cannot last too long. Funds will inevitably be transferred from bitcoin to altcoins.

Boycotted?  I don't think so.  Boycotts are organized events, and I haven't seen anyone recruiting people to avoid altcoins, have you?

Everything in crypto is down right now, including bitcoin.  Remember, bitcoin's all time high was $20,000 and it's less than half that now.  When it crashed it took altcoins down with it, unfortunately.  However my prediction is that they'll find their way back into people's hearts and wallets.  It just takes time for these cycles to work themselves out, that's how markets work.  Investors fall in and out of love with investments, and altcoins are no different.

At the moment market is not stable, it is very risky to buy altcoin now.
I don't know if the market is unstable.  It's just that prices are very depressed.  I see that as a chance to buy low with the intention to sell high.  Why wait until the market is on fire to start buying?

they are getting REKT, and market is dying. Banks will put everything they have to deter people to continue supporting this market. And it's dying. YOu cannot deny that.

Better to hold strong altcoins now if you still have interest in them, I believe that the altcoins that will perform very well in future are strong altcoins with good useful cases, there is still chances of making big profits from altcoins but not shitcoins anymore
At the moment market is not stable, it is very risky to buy altcoin now. Even though the price went up, it was only a slight reflection, then dropped deeper. No matter how good altcoin is, you should never love it, even altcoin is as good as Matic, the price can drop -50% in a day.

Due to too much scams, investors are reluctant to put money in new coins. Altcoins market is getting restricted to just few coins like ethereum, XRP, Litecoin. I dont think there are any altcoins in the market that can challenge Bitcoin dominance.

Yes, of course, why not? Why people would invest in a shit altcoins when most of the new altcoins and 85% of altcoins are failing to give profit to its investors then why people would stick on those shits? Bitcoin is the best investment and of course it's risk-free. Even I also ignoring most of the altcoins nowadays.

Investor has less percent interest altcoins, even though altcoins is giving more profit. Yes! Bitcoin was profitable but year could be for Ethereum. We can use other coin which purpose we use Bitcoin. Eliminate of altcoins isn't good for us, wait in Bitcoin for altcoins time.

People are afraid to put money into the lottery, which altcoin market right now is.

My dear, its indeed a lottery. No matter how good you are with trading or chart reading, u can't always accurately catch the bottom of these altcoins before moon. And in some cases, it might be like catching a knive just like in the case of pundix. I am still averaging down. Buying dips but it seems to have an endless bottom. I don't blame those that rather keep their money to themselves till they can full understand the bizarre market conditions

That's true there are a lot of risk putting money in altcoins, but these are new coins and not coins that are on the top 5 coins in the market, even though Bitcoin dominance is very high, there are top coins in the market, that will narrow the gap between them and Bitcoin, but I'm talking about the top 5 altcoins, not new coins or coins that are not in the top standing.

As for me, people are just doubting and don't want to risk buying altcoins these days because we all know that it isn't the best season for altcoins. I guess investors aren't boycotting altcoins but they just stop buying and continued holding what they have. Let's not underestimate altcoins because there are still multifunctional coins with potential.

Bitcoin is surely overwhelming but it does not mean that the altcoin industry will end because of this situation. Anything can happen and there's still that bitcoin's influence in the industry that is almost impossible to erase. Even people who know the least about cryptocurrencies, are more likely to use the term "bitcoin" more than the term "crypto". Yet, I still do believe that altcoins can and will survive and would be part of the futuristic society I dream of.

Putting a lot of invesents in altcoins are more risky than grow throwing your investments bitcoins. Bitcoin has already been established, proven and more valuable assets than any other alts in the market even if some of the alts have produced something usable for the blockchain community.

This is a human factor when money flows into Bitcoin because not everyone can look at how small their portfolio is for a long time. Altcoins need good and high-quality projects, and most importantly, so that no one interferes with their development, I’m talking about higher authorities now.
