Altcoins will grow and fall because it's a market. It can not be said that only growth is possible. But, the general trend for growth will continue. And of course some projects will die, in general there will be no so easy!

Bitcoin is a symbol, not only a mechanical correlation, yet rather an over the top faith in a brand. I don't know there's any crypto that will beat bitcoin, in any event in a similar biological community.
I think that Bitcoin is the most important because of influence on the price of altcoins too. But I wonder if will this end one day, if any altcoin (Ethereum) will take the lead and will rule the price of the others.
all altcoin is important, it's just the difference is how far are capable of developing such a coin. may not have been as important and yet have a fantastic value as does bitcoin. but know that bitcoin starting from nothing. into something so valuable and fantastic value.

In any ecosystem, be it in nature or business, there is always a competition. And most often than not, the best always rises to the top. And here in our crypto ecosystem, a competition do also exist. Between Bitcoin and Altcoin. We all very well known that bitcoin, being the first and most proven cryptocurrency already took the center stage in crypto market. Now that altcoins came into the picture, where does it really stands? What will be the selling point of altcoin that will eventually led the bitcoin enthusiasts to finally switch places?
The selling point for any altcoin to take the center stage and relegate Bitcoin slightly, lies in its use case and how wide the reach of its adoption is.The problem however is the over 1600 altcoins on CMC,its difficult to predict which of the coin will outshine the other in its performance. Needless to say it’s a very long shot for any altcoins to take the center stage on the crypto scene.
As an investment project, altcoin is now more likely to make a profit because bitcoin is very expensive and relatively stable, but if it is a long-term choice, then bitcoin is the most important!
Because the altcoins price now are affected by Bitcoin price so there are many people think that altcoin is not important as bitcoin. This is a wrong though. Bitcoin has many disadvantages and altcoin can help you solve these problem. Trust me! Bitcoin opens the crypto world but altcoin help it develop.
in my opinion, if Altcoin is very important because it can make competition with big coins and together they create a crypto ecosystem. Alts and Blockchain technologies are a very helpful startup or a new company to raise funds, let's investors and traders to generate huge profits and If all Altcoin will continue to decline, people will start losing confidence in bitcoin as well.
Yeah I think both, bitcoin and altcoin, are just as important. Both are equally important because they both affect the state of the market. Both are competing to get a place in the market and become the best coin. These two coins are competing to gain public confidence. They offer a variety of technological advantages in order to survive in the market and become the society's top choice. Although bitcoin still occupies the top spot but bitcoin is already threatened. Public confidence in bitcoin has come down and many people are turning to altcoin. Maybe the turning point for investors from bitcoin to altcoin because of technology. If bitcoin can not keep up with technological developments and renew its technology with a more innovative, bitcoin will be increasingly abandoned.
in the absence of altcoin then it will also not bitcoin can be great. so this I think is a good springboard to bitcoin also. so both of them are equally important. altcoin also thus be the attraction in crypto. many people choose to invest in altcoin also, in addition, choose bitcoin. This is because potential both as good.
Important, there is no bitcoin will have altcoins? Bitcoin must rely on altcoins for better survival, I personally think that the relationship between them is indispensable now.
Bitcoin is simply a safer bet. Altcoins do not have the same amount of security, brand recognition, liquidity, decentralization, and longevity as Bitcoin has. Sure some will be able to ride under the wings of Bitcoin when it starts to run again, but which ones that will be is largely a gamble. And if Bitcoin runs bad then alts will do even worse. The top 10 coins in 2013 have all done worse than BTC has, only Litecoin has been able to limit the damage relative to BTC and is still relevant today. It's your own choice what to invest in of course, but personally, I am playing it safe and not going to gamble with alts. I do have a few litecoins and some nano as well, but that's just a small percentage of my total portfolio.

You said it is great. In my opinion, some people who change direction may be because of the wide variety of Altcoin, which is a short-term profit, so many people have invested in Altcoin. Another aspect may be that the price of bitcoin is difficult for more people to buy and hold. This is my personal opinion, I hope not to mind!
Competition in the crypto ecosystem is overwhelming and this competition is the driving force for improving each other. Altcoins are very important for the market, the system is feeding each other. As long as it isn't coming to the market new money and new investors, for both bitcoin and altcoins are problem.
All are important. Since they exist, they naturally have their reasons for existence. Every currency has its purpose and value. Bitcoin is the cryptocurrency that has already been accepted. Other currencies want to continue to survive. I feel that they cannot do without Bitcoin.

Not all of altcoins mate are much important and also important than bitcoin. Some of them are nothing but a trash which not be entertain anymore but not all of them. Many altcoins yes that is important and can be rank in bitcoin as valuable
Of course, alternative currencies are no less important than bitcoins. Some of them even now win bitcoin in many ways. Therefore, it is worth looking more closely at the market of altcoins.
I generally think that if bitcoin will cease to exist, the altcoins will not survive, because they are all tied to bitcoin.
Bitcoin is more important than altcoins but it has higher cost. Altcoins are affordable and can also make higher profit if projects are successful. For me becs. I have low resources i would prefer altcoins.
