I doubt that there are truthful and promising projects.At the ICO stage, there are thousands of different ideas. But they are not implemented. People were disappointed. ICO is dead.

If they are not dead, they will soon die... all reports are pointing for a brutal scam/failure rate, higher than 80-90%...
so, with so many new projects launching that offer a ready product and don't ask for money in advance, why any serious investor wouls risk his money in something with such high risk when you have other similar profitable options with much less risk?

I am not sure whether ICO really died because until now many new projects have emerged. The lost money can never come back again and I think you can start investing again now. I recommend to you before you invest in your money, you should do some research first.
I will say no that ICOs are not really dead because a lot of them do reach soft cap and even hard cap in some cases. Once a project is very good, the ICO will surely move at a fast rate.
ICOs seems dead simply because there are only few genuine ICOs that have something solid to offer which can attract the investors attention. The problem is that they are not much and can be difficult to find, especially in this market trend.

After participating in several ICO project, which turned out to be scam projects. My hard earned money disappeared in to thin air, with no way to trace or recover my money back. I had to act like it never happened to get it off my mind and move on.

Rest assured, my friend. Just because of the downtrend of BTC, projects are more difficult to succeed. And because the IEO movement is quite strong, the ICO seems to look weak. I don't really know if ICO is dead but I do know that there is a lot of them that are just turning out to be a scam. I guess people are now awake within this ICO scam. They are now finding some other investments other than that including me.
I don't think ICO is dead. Perhaps ICO is on break which makes it seem that its dead but its not. However, people are now going for IEO than ICO

I do not feel that all ICOs have died. however, maybe you are right. nowadays people prefer to support the IEO compared to ICO. however, people will definitely choose a project with a system that is better than the current ICO.

Most of the investors consider IEOs as alternative to ICOs due to several properties which are also offered by IEOs but it has also construct features which have reconstruct the drawbacks of ICOs as successful ones. IEO on Binance Launchpad launched few months ago and shows that most of the investors have shown interest. But it does not mean that ICOs are dead or there are no legit ones left, there still exists but it will be great if you can find good one.

I agree with you completely. I also noticed this trend. And I think that in some cases this is the right decision. Because a lot of fraudulent projects.

There is such an unpleasant tendency that new technologies are first of all mastered by criminal persons in order to gain profit. Significantly this was demonstrated with ICOs. However, it is too early to say that the Initial coin offering will completely disappear, most likely it will take on a different look (IEO, STO, etc.)

Not all ICO relies on how much fund they get during their crowd funding, sometimes they adjust their soft cap. just to continue their project.
Also I know some project that does'nt need a public and yet successful because they are being backed by a certain investors or company.
If ever the ICO you have joined have'nt collected the right amount of fund to run or survive their project and decided just to stop
it, They should return all the collected fund on their respectful investors. Many Investors are leaving crypto market due to scam projects
