There were bounties that at the end paying out $1000 or even more but it was long time ago, around 2017. At that year, a lot cryptos had good prices and bounty hunters got benefits from it. But for now on, it seems to be lucky like that will be so hard to get.

You would need to rank up and be a Hero or Legendary member to be able to earn a good signature bounty.
Sadly, the wave of people that came into bitcointalk last year saw the rise of multiple accounts being created used to join just 1 bounty program.
The mods had to introduce merit system.
Try to go for other bounty forms as well if you have time - content creation, translation and moderation.
