I am not addicted to gambling because I know my lines and boundaries even in fun times.
Addiction is usually developed when you are having great fun in doing particular activity and you forget your line in that and that can harm you . Addicted person doesn't care about his loss or harm he is soo much into this that he dates himself .

7-10 years ago. can be said, I am one of the gamblers who have a tendency to addiction which is quite severe. yes, I have played almost all types of gambling games, especially land casinos.addicted people, not easy to understand, like you said. at least everyone, has a case that doesn't always have to be the same. but the impact that is most felt for addicts is the social impact.  people who already have a tendency to be difficult to stop, including gambling activities.

So far, I'm still doing gambling activities, especially football. however, not as extreme as it used to be. I only do gambling three times a week according to the schedule of football competitions. for me now, gambling is part of the fun entertainment to fill entertainment after work activities. and if I get a win I just consider it a bonus of the nice things.

Teenagers are still in the process of learning how to control their emotions so they are also the ones who fall into gambling addiction easily. I've also fallen into gambling addiction when I was younger and during those times, I was using my parent's money. I've learned how to control myself from too much gambling when I was already using my hard-earned money. I admit that emotions are hard to control sometimes but we really have to discipline ourselves to avoid huge losses.
That's a good think that you recovered from gambling addiction. Gambling addiction is bad whether what your age bracket are but it is even worst when you are gambling other peoples money which mostly teens are doing since most of them don't have any source of income at the first place. Though I think it is better to realize that you are an addict early than becoming a uncontrollable fully growth adult that is badly dealing with finances because of gambling addiction. Teens who are becomes an addict will somehow realize how hard to earn money in real life and spending it on gambling will surely make them doubt if it is the right thing to do. But yeah gambling addiction overall is bad.

I haven't gambled in a long time, but the FTX bankruptcy brought me more losses than gambling.
So, that's fine, you only live once. Do sth make you happy.
Keeping the funds in an exchange is a really grave mistake from any crypto enthusiast and I believe all of us here in the forum are enthusiasts so we should keep all our crypto in wallets where we own the private keys and in exchanges or trading platforms leave only the balance meant to trade.

That is why I personally call trading the same as gambling. While many contradict my argument that you cannot predict the future both in gambling and in trading I am sure that both are the same if done at an addiction level and even if done occasionally.
It's quite understandable to think that way, but I feel like it depends on the exchange we are talking about. Like lets take coinbase for example, they are listed on nasdaq so they are a huge company, worth over 100+ billion dollars if I remember correctly, which means that do we really assume such a huge company in a stock market would collapse?

FTX was sort of big as well but we have seen plenty of hedge funds collapse too, which means the size doesn't matter, it's the regulations and control that does. So something such as coinbase, even if it was smaller than ftx, would not bankrupt as easy, because they are regulated a lot harder and would not have the chance to do silly and stupid moves FTX did.

Seriously?! You're that young to become addicted in gambling and the school has to kick you out from their institution. Luckily, on my part, I was able to hold still on that younger days of my life.
I'm able to gamble and at the same time it was just maintained. I guess what helped me is that because I was still young, got no money, got no source of money to gamble. That situation I have been in truly helped me at least to naturally control me with my finances and gambling activities, not that addicted but still a gambler.
I said seriously, I used to be very addicted to gambling games, every time there was a gambling that was excited, I would immediately put a lot of money there because at that time I thought big capital would get big profits

stupid me, I did something like that when I was in school, at that time I had no income and the fastest way I made money was by stealing and using school money, I used it in the hope that it would return many times over but in fact it was the other way around, I actually lost everything

I think almost all of us here can understand your situation in the past, I mean, I cannot really define if I was already addicted too when I was a teenager but I know that feeling of excitement every single time that I do hear gambling words or if my mates are gambling until I was drawn into those activities and used some other resources so that I would be playing everyday. Not a good thing of course but the important thing is that we already put those things in the past, now I'm still gambling but only to entertain myself and with some limit so that I won't be crossing some lines again.

It's okay what was said in the article dude, and everything mentioned is true. It's just that addiction only starts when a gambler experiences frequent wins by a player.

Of course, when we always experience winning, we will search for it, and we will no longer think about losing gambling, instead, we will not notice that the value of what we lose eventually increases until it becomes difficult to get out of it. a gambling addict in this regard.

In fact, addiction occurs when the player was close to winning, but lost. At this moment, the "pursuit" mechanism is activated and the player continues to play until he wins (or he runs out of money). The achieved win eventually brings positive emotions and the player becomes addicted for this reason also, but in fact, addiction occurs before the win itself. Perhaps this is inherent in us by nature, since biologically we are hunters.

Greed usually makes us have false hopes in gambling believing that we could always win and recover from our huge losses. False hope and having the wrong mindset toward gambling are the reasons why bettors always keep coming back to casinos to gamble. Gambling addiction is a serious matter and it usually starts as we chase our losses. The way we see gambling has a huge impact on our gambling journey. Our insight toward it will reflect on how we deal with it.

Everyone likes to go to a casino here and then. But unfortunately, there are those who cannot visit a casino simply for pure leisure. Gambling can turn from a hobby or a leisure activity into a serious addiction problem. Many compare the rush of gambling to the euphory of cocaine, as it can also become an addition.

Online gambling brought casinos closer than ever before, and the problem of addiction in the world of gambling is a serious social illness. There are a few signs to look for when starting to gamble online to avoid problems of addiction. So, do you know if you have a problem with gambling? Here's an interesting article about this subject.

That's right, but on the other hand, when we win or lose, it still has the same effect because we have a fairly high level of curiosity about gambling.
At present, when looking at this condition, it is very difficult to prevent it unless it comes from oneself. The problem is that when our curiosity to try and seek victory is still high, it also becomes a bit of a hassle to stop it and not a few people fail at this so they become addicts in gambling.

I'm not a gambler and in fact have never been in a offline Casino. But sometimes I meet with my friends and we play poker. We bet little money on the game. I play online casinos very rarely and allow myself to lose less than $1.

For those users who said "no one will know if his self is addicted to gambling" you can try visit this site and answer it honest [1], so you will know if you're an addict or not. Although I don't know how accurate this site to determine the user is addicted or not, but this can be a first step to know if you don't want to consult with a professional. I've test and get a result if I'm not an addict, of course it's not even though I'm a regular gambler.

Personally speaking, I am not a gambling addict nor I see myself being one in the future. This is simply because I am disciplined enough to know where to draw the line. I set my boundaries beforehand and I do not really adjust it in the outcome of a bet if I'll make any. It should be known and practiced by the gamblers to set up limitations regardless of ratio of winnings and losses to avoid being addicted in gambling.

I checked the link you provided and it definitely is a good read. Knowing the factors and different levels of being addicted can help someone prevent it from happening to them. Staying away from being a gambling addict could help you so much to stay away from trouble.

I'm little into addiction, because I spend what I've kept aside for some prime need. The article gives a big list of contents. Going through the entire article will give an overview on how to stay away from gambling addiction. In all means if the gambler himself doesn't have the control, there is no way to get out of addiction through meditation, medication, drugs and other measures.
We really need to make sure that we don't become an addict over night without we knowing it. I know some persons that can't still believe that they are real addict but still wants to argue it to any limit. It takes the mind and self consciousness for us to addict this that we are abtrue gambling addict and the moment we know what's wrong with us, that is when we will be able to look for a better solution to our problem.

Ending this would take everyone efforts around us, that is why we can't reduce the urge that is in us by our self.  We need the assistant from friends and people around us that will look after us to put us through the right things with consistent guidelines.

So, do you know if you have a problem with gambling? Here's an interesting article about this subject.

It's always harder to make a diagnosis on yourself than it is for others to interpret your behaviour. I would say that I am not addicted to gambling, but if you ask my ex girlfriend she would probably say yes. I started gambling more than 10 years ago and over the last few tears I have been doing it every week. So you can say that I am regular gambler and stopping gambling completely overnight would be difficult for me. But I still have control over myself. There are weeks where I don't gamble, like on vacation it's no problem take a break for 2 weeks. Another important factor that is part of my gambling routine is to have fixed limits on how much money I use each week for gambling. With such restrictions I limit my maximum loss per month. Once I lost all my balance for a week it's not a problem to stop and not play for the next several days. To me the main thing to not be addicted to gambling is being able to control your habits. As long as you are in control yourself and not driven by the casino it should be okay. Still important to reflect on ourselves though.

The question is, are you a gambling addict? Not exchange funds or keep funds on any centralized exchanges. You gambled actually by leaving your money on the FTX exchange because you trusted their judgement initially on their small developments but that doesnt make you an addict, you did that because you trust them being a non-custodial exchange is in form of gambling and not addiction. Whatever the outcomes, I hope you find a way to stay happy, if they reimburse you, find a personal wallet to save them and if they don't, believe there is always a second chance and that you don't just live once but live every day with hope to see another day, don't lose that hope.

I like online casino which I can win the money. But I don't like to much because in Gambling there is too much risky to lose my money. But if I win enough money from gambling it will addict to play more. That's why gambling is just like a drugs.

I had a gambling addiction before but was lucky enough to get out of gambling to cure it.
It was very hard but with the support of my friends (I didn't tell my family because I was afraid they would leave me).
I am happy and happy because my friends did not leave me after they found out I was addicted to gambling and instead, they tried to invite me to live with them to help me get out of my gambling addiction.
And now, I can say that I am free from gambling addiction and can gamble whenever I want and stop whenever I want too.
Indeed, telling the people closest to us about the addiction that we experience is not an easy thing, but if it is done it will really help us to get out of addiction even though there will still be people who are closest to us who will actually leave us because maybe they don't understand how to deal with it. people who are addicted, but if we have an environment that can support us to get out of addiction it is very happy.

But unfortunately there will be more people judging than trying to help, and gambling addiction should be handled by professionals because they have experience dealing with people like that, and have good treatment but this requires money and gambling addicts with minimal finances will find it difficult to access it
