Everyone likes to go to a casino here and then. But unfortunately, there are those who cannot visit a casino simply for pure leisure. Gambling can turn from a hobby or a leisure activity into a serious addiction problem. Many compare the rush of gambling to the euphory of cocaine, as it can also become an addition.

Online gambling brought casinos closer than ever before, and the problem of addiction in the world of gambling is a serious social illness. There are a few signs to look for when starting to gamble online to avoid problems of addiction. So, do you know if you have a problem with gambling? Here's an interesting article about this subject.

I was once but after a serious loss in one of my sessions I was so mad that I didn't know what to do and just laid down and stayed like that for several hours maybe even 1 or 2 days just thinking what I have done and since then I just play a predetermined bankroll every week,if I win good for me and I keep playing and if I lose this bankroll I called it a day and quit.

Gambling addiction unfortunately for many people is devastating and they do not have that much of a will and self control to take themselves out of this so for these persons they need to seek professional help after talking to their family and friends first.

Maybe your wife has had enough. Most wives stick to their husbands until they don't like them anymore and there are reasons for it. If gambling already affects your life, you may not have given enough money to your wife to run the household. Not enough attention to her or to the kids too.
And I hate to say this. Just think of it like I'm your paranoid self. Does she have someone else?

Anyway, the truth is not all of us want to get out of gambling. One could be in denial but addiction is real.

Gambling is more rampant with single people. Any married person should be regulated by the wife and the family. Any responsible man should listen and catter for the family. If you are to gamble will it be good idea to let your wife know and also help you to stick to a certain budget. That is when you have an understanding wife. The problem will lie if it is a gambling family which I have seen the topic somewhere.

To self diagnose was never advised by the professional because there is a tendency for your restricting behavior to manifest and become official. One of the symptoms when it comes on addiction not only in gambling is having a hard time to be away from the target behavior or activity. In this case, you should be first aware of what may happen if things won't be handled properly. This won't boldly say that you are already a gambling addict. You may still cope with staying away from addictive activity. It is no longer the platform; either land based or online. What matters the most is what drives a gambler to its fullest financial capacity because this should be the start or reprimanding an unwantet habit.

If gambling used to require the physical presence of the gamblers, who had to commute or bring a car if you have one, now that is no longer the case. It has become even closer to gamblers especially to the addicts here online and is even downloaded on our mobile phones which often in this day and age is that other online casinos even pay influencers just to promote it.

And as for crypto gambling, you just need to have internet and we can do gambling on this matter. Although I'm not at the point of addiction yet I only play occasionally, to be honest.

If you would permit me, I would say it all depends on individuals based on personal interest might likely results to addiction for instance, me I don't give full attention to casino or even gambling.
Gambling starts whenever you start having interest in sports and gaming whereby constantly visiting or playing games leads to indicating interest to gamble. Anyone who can avoid gaming or stop watching sports can actually not indicate interest to gamble or being an addicted gambler.

I do gamble, but I gamble just for fun, I gamble whenever I want and I gamble just with little amount, I don't gamble with the amount I can't afford to lose and I don't take gambling as my source of income.
Whenever you start thinking you can make money from gambling, then you are already getting everything wrong because if you continue like that, you will definitely be addicted to gambling, whenever you lose money in gambling, you will continue gambling because you believe you will still win, which you might keep on losing till you finish all the money you are having with you, some people take loan, sell their properties just because they want to gamble which is very wrong, gambling should just be for fun and we shouldn't take it as our source of income.

You are doing the right thing by gambling only with the amount you can afford to lose. I follow the same approach and I can say that I am not addicted to gambling.
I gamble in moderate frequency mostly because I don't get the time to gamble a lot. My day job and side hustle consumes all my time in the weekdays.
The only time I have left for gambling is during the weekends and many times I get busy in other things so I don't gamble some weekends.
Whenever I gamble I make sure the amount I gamble with is affordable to lose so that I don't stress out on losing and have fun while gambling.

Gambling addictions come in all shapes and sizes. But if you really gamble so much that you get into financial problems, then you can speak of a serious addiction. You also have people who are addicted to gambling but who play with small amounts, so you could actually see it more as a pastime in a different way. Gambling addictions are serious, your whole life can suffer from it and you can also lose your environment (friends, family, work) because of it. There are also cases where people had to sell their house to solve the financial problems.

A few years ago when I started with Online Poker gambling, I was getting obsessed by it and without even noticing it I was getting addicted. I started gambling poker over at Pokerstarts and was pretty successful from the beginning. I could actually make some money but it wasn't enough for the time wasted in the game.

I would come home from work straight to the computer to play poker tournaments, which, as you know, is very time-consuming. I would stay hours on playing and wasn't getting any dinner or any sleep. And this for just a few coppers. Sometimes you would stay on the money, but other times I would simply waste a lot of time and get no prize. This went on and on, and even with some winnings my wife was getting worried because I wouldn't go out and on the weekends and stay home doing the same thing all over again.

This went on and on until it started to affect my personal life and my wife even threatened to leave me. This was when I saw I had a problem with gambling and was able to walk away: For me, it was simple to get away as I am a very active guy and do a lot of sports, so I took skate and surf and left gambling behind to fight for my family.

So, long story short, I was about to lose my family because of gambling but was able to recognise the signs before it actually happened. Today, I still play poker online but I know when to stop and how precious is my time, so I can actually live with it without having any negative impact.
Good thing that you were able to notice the problem that gambling has caused not only to your life but also to your loved ones. Just as I previously mentioned in your thread, Unfortunately, we aren't the first persons to see the problem that gambling addiction affects us but rather the people around us and it's a good thing that your wife was able to inform you about it and even made you recognize the issue it causes both of your lives.

Also, Kudos to you as well since you listened to your wife and did not hesitate to fix your gambling addiction and focus elsewhere such as sports. Hopefully, you will look out for future signs in case your gambling activities will cause you any issues again.

When I became an addict at slot, I knew it and was lucky to get out of it quickly. Gambling every day and continuing to lose, the curiosity in my brain triggers excess adrenaline, so the gambling that I do is only based on emotion, not calm and for fun. Addicted we can defeat it when we are at peace with ourselves, because of the problem of addiction if not handled properly quick it will become a serious problem for the family and your circle.

So, do you know if you have a problem with gambling? Here's an interesting article about this subject.
I have that symptoms of sleep deprivation but it's not due to gambling but because of the activities that I've been doing everyday of the week. Also there are a lot of changes on the color of my skin but this is all about stress in other things not in gambling.

About my weight, I've lost a lot of my weight and it's because of the lack of sleep that I'm having. Well, I'm not a gambling addict but some of the symptoms that have been said on this article could really be a result of the things we do.

Too much stress is never good, and basically, the source of stress can be anything or it can be a combination of different sources. And that can lead to other problems, as always, bad things never come alone.

I gamble almost every day, at least a few spins/throws, or some sports bet if there's something interesting. I don't wish to quit gambling, except for some losses here and there (what I can afford to lose) that can be annoying I don't have any problems with/from my gambling habit! So I am more like some degen, I simply enjoy gambling...

Luckily, I still know that I am not a gambling addict yet.
I can pass in one day and just be with my family not thinking about gambling. I think that is one of the indications that you are an addict, you cannot just stop it even when you are supposed to be talking to relatives or your own family if there is a gathering.
Now that it's more accessible, especially in android applications, we should be warier about the danger of becoming one.
It's still better just to play sports gambling rather than the nonstop dice or slots.

Most addicted gamblers will deny that they are addicted or they do not realize that they are addicted. I myself wont say that I am/was addicted, I did gamble a lot for few years but I do not say that I'm addicted because I can still control my self especially for the money I use to gamble. I cant deny that there were some time when I was out of control while I was gambling but I believe it is something normal and I believe most gamblers experienced the same thing.

That experience of gambling out of control is the start of your becoming addicted, but for now, I am sure that you are still aware and able to control yourself. The most difficult thing about addiction is that you can't control yourself. I can also say that I am not addicted to it, but still, there are times that I really want to play and play every day, and it is out of control, but it isn't affecting my life or my family. That is only when I discover new games that are very fun to gamble with.

In my opinion, not everyone who comes to gamble every day, both offline and at online casinos, is a person who is addicted to gambling. those who have control over their finances to gamble I'm sure they are still at a safe level. I don't mean financial freedom. because everyone who has a lot of money, when they go crazy in the casino under the influence of alcohol and drugs, can keep on betting indefinitely.
so playing gambling with common sense will keep you in good control. so when I walk into the casino, of course, I have a limit on how much money I can deposit to the casino. and when it runs out, then I can stop. but for some gamblers I'm sure, sometimes they find it hard to stop because of something like emotion.

It is not easy to evaluate this. In my opinion, I am not a gambling addict. But according to the people around me, I am a gambling addict. Fortunately, I don't take what people around me say about me too seriously. Because I gamble for some adrenaline and endorphins. That's all. My first priority is to have some fun. I even see winning as secondary. Of course I want to win. But I already know that I can't always win. That's why it's my first priority to enjoy betting. And I am not a gambling addict. Also, I can always control my financial management. I think this is a more important issue than taking more or less time to bet.

I think the article in the link you linked is good enough to read. although I do not agree with some of its contents. I myself have never experienced addiction in a severe level. but a little out of control in the game maybe everyone has experienced it and so have I. My gambling is more towards the thrill of pleasure. because financially I didn't expect gambling to be a source of income. but a game that can test my luck and get a bit of fun out of it. that's the fun stuff. although sometimes I get out of control and over-bet. but in general I've probably never had a really bad addiction.

What I feel when playing gambling before and after having a real job has many differences, and before having a real job I always play gambling because there are no other activities and gambling always fills my days.
and after I got a job my gambling activity changed drastically and no I don't gamble at all for some reason. I don't have time to gamble because my time is spent on work and rest, and time is spent on these forums.
and I also still gamble on weekends and just to fill my free time and also have fun with the small capital that I have prepared, winning or losing doesn't matter. Most importantly I feel happy and also enjoy the game, but sometimes I get lucky.

so what I mean is you can change your bad habits or addictions by doing other activities and the most effective way is to work because your days are spent working and resting which is likely to reduce gambling activities and even disappear if you do it seriously.
