Online casinos increased the number of gambling addicts because gamblers always have access to their mobile phones where the carry out their bets without restrictions and supervisions. Compared to when offline gambling was the order of the day, been with my phones gives me that urge to play some games even when my budget is exhausted. This is a serious problem in this era with online casinos

I'm also a gambler but still fine and isn't on the verge of being addicted. As for the addicted gamblers, even they're aware that it's not their money. If they had it, they'll gamble with it even without the permission of the owner of the money that they handle.
This is what happens mostly for addicted gamblers and they're getting into a situation that's hard to get out of. It's hard to deal with it when they're guilty that they shouldn't spend the money that they don't own.
Gambling addicts cannot handle finances because they will spend money to indulge their desires without limits on the use of finances and there is no self-control from the risk of losing gambling, even if using money that is not their own or even obtained from loans. So it will be difficult to change the mindset of a gambling addict to recover unless they have the determination to change their life for the better in the future.

I still play gambling but I'm not addicted to gambling because I'm still trying to control myself by not gambling for too long. I realize the risks of gambling are that we can become addicted to gambling and when this happens, it will be difficult for us to cure it. And when we experience gambling addiction, it will have another impact because, in our minds, we only want to play gambling. Only having the willpower to recover from gambling and trying to avoid gambling addiction can heal us.

I'm a regular gambler but I'm not an addict, this depend on how good you control your own emotion and money management. A gambling addict usually bet what they have, so when he have money that he need to use it for a month to survive, he use it all and didn't think twice how he can get money to buy foods, pay bills etc. Just gamble what you can afford to lose, even it's just $5 per day, no need to be greedy achieve more.

Daily gambling will not lead to anything good, even if you spend no more than $5 a day. It is better to spend $100 per gambling session, but play much less frequently, for example once every 2-3 weeks. In my opinion, this approach greatly reduces the likelihood of gambling addiction compared to gambling every day.

If you are drawn to play gambling every day, it is most likely a gambling addiction, which must be dealt with.

Depends how a person can carry his self unto certain situation and if the case that $5 bets everyday will not cause any harm from him then maybe that's good since sometimes we seek for place to get entertained and who knows maybe he only got entertained on something challenging for him. But also if that case he exceed that much and all things became uncontrollable then that's how addiction started and it could turn all into worst situation.

Personally, I do not think I am an gambling addict. I know a lot of addicts say that but you cannot really call everyone who denies gambling addiction an addict in denial. I go by facts. And fact is that I gamble maybe once or at most twice a week and never large sums of money. So does that constitute an addiction? I do not think so.

Realistically, how many of gamblers become addicted? I do not think its a very large or even significant number. Maybe 10% at most. If anyone knows a good source for statistics of gambling addiction then I would love to learn more. Feel free to provide a link to the source (as long as it is scientifically sound and not just some random website with statistics with no references)

Always important topic but it gets repetitive, use the search engine, I think there is addiction to this topic here on the Gambling board.

This is the best thing because indeed when we say we are addicts or not we actually will not be able to make this appear to be true because indeed an assessment like this still has to have a third person and looking for an expert is the right thing.
there is no need for an expert to justify addiction , if you can spend too much money in gambling , too much time , and too much risk then you are already an addict .
Quote
Because in this case we will not be able to judge ourselves because it is clear that we will not say ourselves as someone who is bad, of course.
lol , there are several person that I knew that they admitted being addict and yes that time they seek for professional advice and help , but not to know that they are addict but how they can leave addiction.

Online gambling brought casinos closer than ever before, and the problem of addiction in the world of gambling is a serious social illness. There are a few signs to look for when starting to gamble online to avoid problems of addiction. So, do you know if you have a problem with gambling? Here's an interesting article about this subject.
Gambling only becomes an addiction if the gambler has made enough money from it.
Many people join gambling and leave after a short period of time; some leave due to a lack of winning, while others meet their desired target and leave to avoid becoming addicted to gambling; however, some people take gambling as their own personal source of income, and that is why they stick to gambling regardless of their game condition, whether win or lose.

Why they will cure themselves if they understand the risk? What if they are still responsible despite being addicted?

It's fine to be a gambling addict as long as we are still on our usual behavior.

If serious problems now occur, that's the time to do some action.
Point of correction, it is not fine to be an addict to anything, gambling addiction is worse.

Point if correction, gambling addiction is a serious problem that can lead to more problem.

Many that are addicted do not really understand the risky until it happened, they could think they are special, have different strategies and able to be lucky. They will not think of what can happen if they lose and the consequences until they lose. After they are losing, they will think there can be corrections in a way they will bet and get back their losses, but they will find themselves losing more and getting more addicted to it.

Well, obviously not. I spend about 10 hours a week playing poker, so not too much, and, above all, it gives me profits, contrary to what usually happens with people addicted to gambling. I think it's more like a part-time job, in that I'm guided mainly by rational decisions rather than emotions, as gamblign addicts tend to be.

People will deny that they are addicted to gambling until they are cured, they are aware of their addiction, and yet they cannot take the right action to cure themselves because they have an urge that they cannot stop, I will deny I'm addicted to gambling because people will see that I'm sick and need help from professional something that my ego cannot accept.

Why they will cure themselves if they understand the risk? What if they are still responsible despite being addicted?

fortunately I was cured of my gambling addiction when I was young. remembering the past, before I almost got fired from the school for using school money for gambling and selling my mother's necklace gold for gambling, that was my worst period

Gambling is addictive, so if you feel you have a tendency to become a gambling addict, you should immediately consult a psychiatrist so that it doesn't get worse
Seriously?! You're that young to become addicted in gambling and the school has to kick you out from their institution. Luckily, on my part, I was able to hold still on that younger days of my life.
I'm able to gamble and at the same time it was just maintained. I guess what helped me is that because I was still young, got no money, got no source of money to gamble. That situation I have been in truly helped me at least to naturally control me with my finances and gambling activities, not that addicted but still a gambler.

Well it's not surprising that the young ones are engaging in gambling activities, especially if they have company that are not really upstanding and not really watched by their parents as they grow up. I have had a couple of friends way back that does a lot of gambling and made good money while everyone was still in high school. I envy that they have money but I don't envy the way on how they acquire it. Even though I develop some liking to gambling, it never resulted in me being an addict. I still handle my finances well and I never exceed way beyond my set limit for my bets.

This is indeed an extreme condition for a young person to achieve or commit out these things on early period or age which does indicate extreme addiction towards gambling.
This is why parenting and guidance do really plays a big role when raising up our children.Nowadays, youth is really that exposed into different things which it would really be that
cant be avoided for them to see up  these things but with proper guidance and awareness on where their parents been teaching into them then possibilities
that they would be simply be able to avoid those things earlier and would be able to avoid possible problems ahead.
I've got schoolmates that have been kicked out from our alma matter but it hasn't came to that point where they've been addicted to gambling. I've been also a gambler since I was young but not to that point that even my schooling has been affected.
That's just really too much and he has experienced that since he's too young. And addiction really can lead to other activities like committing a crime like stealing. Well, even it's her mother's necklace, that's still stealing.

Everyone likes to go to a casino here and then. But unfortunately, there are those who cannot visit a casino simply for pure leisure. Gambling can turn from a hobby or a leisure activity into a serious addiction problem. Many compare the rush of gambling to the euphory of cocaine, as it can also become an addition.

Online gambling brought casinos closer than ever before, and the problem of addiction in the world of gambling is a serious social illness. There are a few signs to look for when starting to gamble online to avoid problems of addiction. So, do you know if you have a problem with gambling? Here's an interesting article about this subject.

Why you guys are taking addiction as purely a negative traits of a gambler?

I've know some gamblers that really loses that much in gambling but even if they can be considered addicted, they are still on their normal self.

As long as the gambler is responsible on his non-gambling activities, there is no problem being an addicted gambler.

If a gambler can still control themselves, of course it may not be considered an addiction.
But the point of serious social disease from OP is where addiction is already destructive for a gambler.
Of course gambling addiction is a negative thing that befalls a gambler.
Gamblers who experience addiction or often called gambling disorder, of course, will slowly change into a different person from before and that leads to negative things.
They will experience problems in terms of emotional, psychological, physical and can even cause mental health problems for a gambler.

It's very addictive to be honest, i have been in many addictions but gambling can be in top dangerous addictions these days especially It's very easy to access and play anywhere in the world. You will start with a small amount and once you like it and the first feeling you get of it you will give it more. If you start with winning you will feel that euphoric feeling of wanting more and thinking it's your lucky day. And if you started with a lose you will agree to play more until you get back your money or lose everything. And it's so easy to be addicted to it than to be a normal gambler that plays for fun
