Every normal person is afraid of hackers as they may be initmidating to people's profit. One thing that I learned, however, is that hackers aren't pretty interested in ICO's, as they hold a lesser value than the BTC and the major altcoins (ETH, IOTA, ADA, etc.). Therefore, I've spent some time on investing on ICO's and can postulate that this is a very efficient method, disregarding the risk, of course.. You still need to read a lot, but at least hackers won't (hopefully) attack on your current porfolio. For example, I've invested in Cointed, Giftz, Monero, and Restart Energy and have received a satisfactory ROI, as a result. Therefore, I'll continue the same way.. Has anyone considered an investment in Omnitude? Thank you in advance!

I agree that hackers tend to target bigger coins more often than ICO tokens, but that doesn't mean you should not be careful. Whenever you can you should use a hardware wallet to try and prevent possible invasions. To answer your question, I think Omnitude is a good project, I also like the others you mentioned (specially giftz). Please try to be more careful with your tokens!

If you're using a hardware-wallet you should be safe.
If you're using MyEtherWallet you should read my thread about running it locally:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.28909433

In general store all your coins in cold-wallets and keep your PC free from malware.
That won't be safe enough, there is a lot of unknown things that anyone could put in that wallet easily.

Recently Bloomberg posted the information that it took hackers less than 10 years to steal over 14% of all existing Bitcoins and Ethereum from the wallets of their holders. The total sum they have stolen is more than $1,2 billion! How to protect yourself from hackers attacks? Are you afraid of this stuff?
To tell you the truth, yes, I'm wary of hackers stealing my hard earn money  that's why I took every precaution in the book. Its really up to us how to defend from they cyber punks who's intention to take away money from their unsuspecting victims in every way they can.

I always bookmark important trading sites like MEW. 2FA, used strong passwords in my wallet. But I guess they are really one step ahead of us. We need to be very careful not to click on anything we find interesting on the web as it might contain such Trojans or Malwares (keyloggers). If you are a long term bagholder, a hardware wallet is a must.

I'm not really scared. But I try to comply with safety rules. I'm not visiting any weird sites and doesn't download anything. I do not enter passwords. I have 4 years use Kaspersky Internet Security. I had no problems with him.

I think everyone is scared of hackers and the fact that it is a digital currency makes people worry more. I think it is a natural fear, you just have to be careful.
it is certain everyone will be afraid of hackers, because this digital or virtual currency certainly makes everyone more worried.
what's more cryptocurrency is only valid online would make people more afraid if their account hacked. to make us feel much more secure we can use blockchain and 2fa.s techniques

Yeah absolutely. I always double check every website address and always use the original software. we cannot trust every crack Softwares sometimes crack gots keyloggers (malware). we must pay attention all the time.

What about password managers? They seem safe to me but you never know.

Just about anything can be hacked. The best way - put the crypto on cold storage and lock it up at a secure location.
In this case, the usIng of cryptocurrencies would be extremely inconvenient. How do you plan to solve this problem?

I'm afraid, but unfortunately I will not be able to protect myself in any way. To hack is not a problem - it would be that hacking and there would be a desire. We now live in an era that, in principle, the issue of digital security is very relevant. And unfortunately I have a couple of friends who are well versed in computers so to speak. And they argue that with a huge desire, you can hack all
you cant hack a paper

All were afraid to use bank cards like visa when they just appeared. Now all are afraid to use these wallets. It just takes some time to get used to it

There is not a reason to be afraid but you need to be careful, if you have your money in an exchange then activate 2 factor authentication, this is critical if you want your money to be safe also do not use the same password for different services, use a password generator or create your own, if you hold your own coins then do not store them in a computer with pirated software do this and the chances of losing money are low.

Always it is worth being afraid of tricks of swindlers. But there are many ways of protection against it.... good passwords, two-factor protection of a purse, division of the capital between the exchanges and purses and attentiveness in everything. I do so
I completely agree with you. But I bought "Ledger nano s" for storage of funds. I think this is the most reliable way of storing.

look man, no one in the world would ever want to lose anything they possess. let alone things that they have really worked hard gaining. i mean, who wouldn't be afraid of something like this? specially those who have ignored the famous saying here that "only invest funds that you can afford to lose" and still proceeded to invest almost everything they had in real life into cryptos. now i ain't an expert with security strategies in protecting your possessions or any kind of that matter, but i sure am continuously searching for ways to make my bitcoins together with all my altcoins to be safer in my wallets. and i think everyone should also do the same too. that is, if they really do treasure all the cryptos that they own. although it may take a lot of time and effort, i think it is nothing compared to losing your hard earned bitcoins or altcoins. just sayin'

Yeah absolutely. I mean, then you have at the other end of the spectrum THIS:

"GUN WIELDING thugs in balaclavas broke into the home of a cybercurrency trader and forced him to transfer a fortune in bitcoin in what is reported to be the first ever UK cryptocurrency robbery. The masked robbers burst into the home in Moulsford, Oxfordshire, tied up the man’s wife, put the couple’s baby outside in a pram and forced the man to give them his bitcoin. It is reported that schoolchildren were locked inside as a police helicopter looked for suspects and quizzed local residents. A woman said: "I saw four young men in black tracksuits with the hoods pulled up, crossing the road to the property where it took place.’ She added: ‘They were aged 18 to 25, dark-skinned and super-fit. They jumped over the fence on the other side of the road. I didn’t see any gun, but that’s what people locally are saying – and that the men wore balaclavas which I didn’t see either, just the hoodies pulled up."

Depending on where you live, probably worth putting that hardware ledger in a hidden safe and have a dummy wallet somewhere with a token amount of crypto in it!

I am worried the more and more crypto I get, so I take a lot of precautions such as a hardware wallet.

Because the cryptocurrency is only valid online so everyone have a little tension about their account being hacked. But the best part is that we are using blockchain technique and 2fa which makes us feel much safer.
