So, whats was the payout per share this dividend? Had some shares come in at the last second, wanted to verify everything went through.

Looks like ASICMINER sent the final initial investment dividend!

This does appear to be a resounding success.

I purchased my meagre 124 shares using all the BTC I could manage to get my hands on due to my location.

These shares cost me around 15 BTC ($180 at that time) as I purchased them off the market just after the IPO had finished.

Right now they're changing hands for around 0.8 BTC each on the passthrough giving them a value of 99.2 BTC or about $7100 and that's after I've been paid the 12.4 BTC principal in dividends (another $890) and the dividends continue to come in.

Not bad for $180. A good job all around.

Sure, if you go all in you can win big Wink

Congrats anyway

My question : is there any other place in web we can get news and updates on ASICMINER or Bitfountain, except this thread?

Nope, this is it.

Friedcat and his team have impressively proven their capability. Everything from IPO is payed back. This is incredibly awesome! Congratulations! It is time bitfountain shares set in and the people behind this highly successful undertaking get what they deserve: truck loads of bitcoin Smiley. Now, with bitfountain's and asicminer's aligned interests, shareholders can look into an even brighter future.

If they manage to deploy the 50 TH batch in April, profits will be bigger than ever before - even after dividend halving and competition catching up. If competitions keeps failing however, profits will not be big, they will be huge.

Its difficult to judge. But i think the possibility of power cost skyrocket or bitcoin drop so far is relatively low. But as i said... its an investment.
The former glbse-miners were somewhat strange. The dividend gots lower and lower and at the same time the shareprice dropped. At the end you had the same money than before with most investments. Asics are something different now, because they are new.

OK can someone point me in the direction or just give some kind of idea to answer this question?  I have shares in ASICMINER and am considering purchasing more... the question I have is has friedcat or anyone for that matter stated the projected life of the ASICMINER IPO?  Sooner or later friedcat will start losing money and it would make sense for him to stop paying shareholders and buyback or whatever is going to happen, even then maybe start selling off his hashing power.  So with gigavips and TERRAMINING (if BFL ever shipps) his is only going to last 9 months making me not care to purchase any more shares.  But if ASICMINER is as of right now opened with option to buyback... I am really considering some more shares.   Can anyone shed any light on subject because this is a long thread and I haven't found it yet.

Thanks friedcat keep up the good work and thanks to this awesome community!

IPO has ended long ago. Asicminer itself is created as a long term project. Its not only for mining but at a later time asics will be sold. I think asic-time only started and asics will dominate mining for a long time. So even though the profits will drop at some point when we have the maximum possible hashpower it will go on with selling asics. And that looks to me like the possibility to earn more money than invested will remain for years. Of course bitcoin-world is hard to predict for the future.

Thanks for the quick response SebastianJu, so your saying that buying more shares should, at the very least because of the long term plans of ASICMINER, pay themselves back with more payouts to come?  By my very rough estimates it would take about 30 weeks for the payouts to pay back on the cost of 1 share (with dividends at current payouts).. So 7.5 months to a year should be no problem for ASICMINER to pay out dividends hopefully with at least another year to come?

I dont say that the shares-price will be paid back back easily with dividends only. But i say that you can decide to invest in asicminer or to keep bitcoins only. If you invest in asicminer and the shareprice remains relatively stable or even goes up you will not only earn money fromt he rising bitcoinprice, you will earn from the rising shareprice and the dividends. And i doubt you know another investment that pays such dividends. At the end you have to calculate the price of your shares (check the last trades price), your dividends and if u wish the course of the bitcoin to find out what you won. I mean there are companies out there that doesnt even pay dividends, you only invest in hope of rising share price. Asicminer is even better.
But of course i wont say that you will win much money. I think you will have more than before but its still an investment and investments mean a risk somehow.

OH I fully understand that, I had shares in several Bitcoin mining operations at GLBSE and I must say I am extremely happy with ASICMINER I am just trying to find out if we are talking a year or 2 years or 3 or whatever and I realize that there are 100 different reasons ASICMINER might decide to stop mining.. BTC drops to $1, or electricity goes up by a factor of 10 or whatever just trying to figure out for myself and longevity on ASICMINER would play a big factor in my decision right now.
