44 minutes later, with fan 10% and voltage -1 .  same situation

i will switch to raspb3 now

Update:  no change.
Checked both PSU  (all 4 braker boards). Voltage ok: 12.4 V

Can somebody please post a CGMINER API Log from the interface?

once again  you don't wait 2 hours  it takes time to show.

so what  do you have after 44 minutes?

which is not long enoguh  to test.

at -1  you should go over 14th  but it takes more then 44 minutes.

although  I don't like that row of zeroes you have.

at the moment I can not access my 721's or 741's

but I can tell you   44 minutes 7 minute is too low. 144 minutes and you got to 11.9 th


just run a long test  stop looking at the logs.

the fans can be at 30%

they auto set  and won't go lower then the number you  set to

so 10%  setting means they do not go under 10%
and 20% setting means they do not go under 20%
and 30% setting means they do not go under 30%

other questions  you are doing rasp pi 1
what is your internet hook up?

and do a long test  with kano not 44 minutes

just set it and look at it in 10 hours.

From the logs, seems you have an issue I have seen before, one hash board isn't working.
#2 or #02 in all of them have empty of 0 values.

this is my guess also... but on both avalons?

fan was set to minimum 20%, now it's 10% and -1 voltage offset

it's set on 0.

i will set now on -1 and wait to see what happends.

wrong firmware?

I'm using latest downloads on a raspberry PI 1.

i will try with an 3, but i don't think that it counts.

Asics:  still 66 on each avalon (sounds stupid, but they are selling 721 as 741?)

Some hw errors on both.
MW still 0 on one line for each miner.
ECHU:  some error, but i don't know the error_codes    
                                                   (taken from source:

ECHU error on same module (i think it's a module) that has MW filled with 0.

Either some hardware boards errors, either it's a 66 chips instead of 88, either cgminer only see 66 asics.

With RED things that are strange (not sure if they are bad or not).

Will swap PSU and PCIE Power cables later.

Update:  but what are the odds that i got 2 avalons with the same problem (different location(module,board,etc) though)?

Alright friends...I brought this over from Kano's thread so hopefully someone can give me some direction on this...went out to shut down my 6 741s as I was going to move them around to get ready for a couple L3's coming in.  When I turned powered them back on, one of them went through the normal power up cycle, looking at the white lite, turns yellow, then instead turning blue  ..I got a red light.  On the sides where you normally get the 4 green lights (two on each side), I only got 2 green on the right side, the left side was not lit up at all.  So .... did I lose the boards on that side...??  I power cycled several times, and still no change....Now this particular unit I never did move, so I never messed with it except to power it down, then power it back up about 10 min later...........I'm using the 2400 watt Parellel PSU's, and the other unit that I have on the other side of it is working fine.

I've had these about a month now.....  

Sounds like a psu issue not the Avalon, do you have a different power supply to test with

do you have 6 on one rasp pi ?

with two chains of 3 and 2 little auc converters .

go to this screen and do a restart



Actually Phil....yes....I'm running 6 on one controller that I got from Canann.  I do have another I ordered from Parellel miner when I ordered my PSU's, but didn't know if I had to clone the card or what not....so I havne't used it yet...

I do....but with the other unit working ok on the 2400, I figured the PSU was good.....

I think you are not waiting long enough.  I know  you do not have 1 dead board  as the gear does not hash with a dead board like the Avalon 6 will do.

The one row of all 0's is interesting but inconclusive.  A 7 minute test from nicehash is worthless as nicehash constantly switches around.

Sometimes I jump to 20th with 2 avalons on nicehash gui  or down to 8th.  The avalon gui will do restarts more often using nicehash.

Like Phil said  try kano for 2 hours then screen shot.  One more hint  -2  and -1  work  way better then + 1.   0 is also not so good in a hot room.

can someone enlight me about the lines in red?  They are all 0.

Update: looking at https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer/blob/master/driver-avalon7.c, it's clear than some asics are not working.   I have only 66 asics on each avalon.   I will check the power cables, but each one is powered from it's own delta 2400W PSU.  Too much coincidence to have both PSU or both one pcie cable failed.



tell us your psu used and read the screen shot . 7 minutes is  not appropriate .  and nicehash  is subject to flux  since you are selling  hash to miners not mining yourself

can someone enlight me about the lines in red?  They are all 0.

Update: looking at https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer/blob/master/driver-avalon7.c, it's clear than some asics are not working.   I have only 66 asics on each avalon.   I will check the power cables, but each one is powered from it's own delta 2400W PSU.  Too much coincidence to have both PSU or both one pcie cable failed.

Received mine today from Miner Warez. Took an unboxing video just in case I needed documentation.

Mine looks very much the same as philipma1957's video shows. Like jonlorusso mentioned, I also did not receive the information card and it was not sealed. I did get the two cables and converter as shown in philipma1957's video.

I did not notice any odd smells, however it does not smell like 'new' electronics. More neutral. Looking through the fan area is slightly dusty. More so from looking into it from the rear. Some of the capacitors and mounting brackets show an accumulation of dust/dirt. The silver fins (heat sinks?) look relatively clean. The outer shell is pretty much on par with the mentioned video. A few scratches and the label appears to be lifting a little around the corners.

This is my first purchase in the mining world. I was expecting it to be 'Brand New'. That is what I was paying for. This I would describe as 'used'. Possibly lightly used, but used all the same.

I also received the 1500 watt power supply kit from Parallelminer. These in comparison look 'new' and definitely have a 'new' electronics smell.

I will not be able to test the miner for a couple of days. Waiting on the rest of the Raspberry Pi parts to arrive, so I can make the controller.

I also paid with PayPal, so I'll see how the testing goes.


I almost forgot.

I ordered five 2400 watt delta psu s from parallel miners.

Eighty cables and breakout boards.

They cross wired one pcie cable.  Gear was almost cooked.

I caught it and no issues .

Check all your pcie cables from them to see if they were cross wired.

Can you elaborate more on "cross wired"?  Positive with negative?
I checked all my cables, the black ones are ok, the white ones are crosswired between pins. (left pin goes to middle and vice versa, right pin is ok)  - but this should be ok, it's just ground. Isn't it?

Update: the 12v are crossed between them, that shouldn't be a problem. Grounds are ok (left,sense,right).

Phil,

I have used my meter to see the voltages coming out of the psu's and they are below the 12.53 which is a good thing, thanks for the heads up as always.

I also have them in a below 30c environment, trying to exhaust them out of the room they are currently in. Planning on using some duck to 10 inch flex to an exhaust fan. Hoping to keep the temps down in the room they are currently in.

i have the same problem, with 2 x Delta 2400, each powering one Avalon 741.

The first one has 12.6 on left board and 12.7 on right board.
The second one has 12.4 on left board and 12.5 on right board.

The goal is to have 2 deltas for 3 avalons.

Was kind of hard to insert the boards, i will swap them only if this is the last resort.

Shoud I be worry ?
