Hello bitcointalk.
I'm also waiting for my two pieces of 741's. Received the payment address and made the payment two days ago.  They send me invoice after my request "Please confirm that you have received my payment". So I believe it's ok. But still no tracking number. I believe there's gonna be a delay due to the storm in Honk Kong.

Can I Avalon A7 reconfigure for mining UnbreakableCoin?
or can mining Bitcoin only. I don't have this hardware but I heard that exist hardware for mining bitcoin only (cannot change coin)
Sorry for dumb question

unbreakable uses what algorithm?

I checked, UnbreakableCoin use SHA-256.
On official site I found that SHA256d ALGO.
I don't know what mean 256d...
They list only 2 exchanges for the coin. Current value around 20 cents. Also need a special wallet for it.
Ya might want to read the Unbreakable Coin thread here...

So far it hasn't shown to be in stock. I think they're clearing out the back orders until they list more.

My order from 8/8 got updated to Processing like most of the other replies who were waiting for things like a BTC address.

I think you are most likely correct. That would be the wise thing to do. That way they don't over sell when they open up ordering again.

Same here But as others said, prolly an automated message released once an order starts moving through the system. Fingers crossed!

In other news...  As I mentioned earlier, had a fan die in an A721 and since I opened a repair Ticket shortly after placing a miner order that ticket ended up being linked to the new miner order by Canaan Support. After this delay kerfuffle it then was split off again back into a separate ticket. Guess what -- seems they created two fan orders #81983 and #82716 and I now have 2 replacement fans headed my way via DHL.... Kudos for getting it done but I take it the order system is a mess...

Since I paid them  I can only hope this is their way of saying I have paid the item.

does not look like that to me.  One can only hope it is correct this time.

my payment is here:

I got that tonight, too.  It's likely an automated email created by whatever ticketing system they are using--Steve said himself he was still trying to figure the system out.

I presume this is a precursor to a tracking number.

Thanks NotFuzzyWarm,

I didn't want to break anything and rather ask the experts.

Thank you, you're awesome!

Philip,

I have the Anker dual charger and the usb cables.
I just ordered a new rasp pi 3 and a case to build my second controller, followed your write up.
I will plug them into a power strip once I work on my second one.

Thanks for your info greatly appreciate the rasp pi write up.

Question and sorry it's a dumb one.

How do I shutdown the controller for the Avalon 741.

I know how to shutdown the miner but not the controller.

Thanks.

they could send  :

 the fans
 cables
dongles
 daughter boards
rasp pi 3

to people like me  In a few spots around  the world thus repair parts would be quick and easy to get.

no hash board  or case but the rest good be sent.

would help miners get gear working again.

If I had a case of fans
a 20 pack of dongles
a 20 pack of four pin wires
a dozen daughter boards
some rasp pi 3's

it would ease the main office

if a guy had them in europe

if a guy had them in australia

a list for spare parts on the website.  this would have to help.

I built  2 spare rasp pi's

I have an extra dongle

Open up authorized repair centers and have a certification you need to get to maintain the warranty. Seems like the next level of growth, similar to what PC makers used to do.

Keep in mind though that managing that network is another full time job, and it seems like they're short on staff as it is.

my idea is less then that idea  as my way  is about 500 to 800 in parts.  less then the cost of one avalon 741

every part other then the daughter board  and hash boards are easy to replace.

fan  = plug play
dongle = plug in play
4 pin wire = plug n play
rasp pi 3 =   a liitle more work

the daughter board is more work but is not an expensive piece.

so   any owner of the gear should just be able to get one quick and easy and simply swap it in.  instead of waiting weeks for a new part from china.

Basically  I would want a parts dealer.  like napa is for cars.
