Small issue I noticed today.

Upgraded to Nvidia drivers 512.15 today to test out the new T-rex miner 0.25.13.  Everything is running fine, but the GUI under "information" no longer shows the fan %. It just shows a static 0%. I am assuming this is a driver issue, as an older card I have on Gminer is also no longer reporting fan %.

Are T-Rex and Gminer also showing the fan speed as 0% in the mining console window?

In Awesome Miner, please select the miner and go to the System tab. Do you see all the GPU details listed here?

Please also let me know which nVidia GPU you are running and I can try to reproduce the issue.

  - Trigger for checking hashrate can look at secondary hashrate when dual mining
 Integration

  - T-Rex 0.25.12

Hey Patrik,

the dual mining feature for lolminer did not work right at the moment. ETC+ALPH for example did not work. I set first ETC for first algo and Blake3 for secondary, than i set the pools - but Awesomeminer not adding the second algo. Only the combination ETC+TON/ALPH not working. ETH+TON/ALPH work well.

And dual mining for Teamredminer would be nice. I know it is harder to realize, because they use a second API port for the secondary algo, but i hope you can improve this. At the moment i monitor the second algo via an extra external miner.

Question about Teamredminer API - did you change something or did they change something  Cheesy? I mine ETH+Zil - in the past Awesomeminer recognized the pool change and show me in the Zil PoW time the zil mining speed and the zil pool, but at the moment i see at the zil pow only 0 as hashrate and no pool change. It is nothing big, but in the "old version", i could see in the history how much % i lose per day at zil mining. Example 96% on ethermine and 4% on rustpool.xyz and now i only see 100% on ethermine. I hope you understand my question  Cheesy
Awesome Miner may not detect the dual mining correctly when using ETC as the primary algorithm. I have a note about this and the plan is to improve it.

The TeamRedMiner API is very unique in terms of dual mining with the secondary port. This is the reason why it isn't supported yet.

Awesome Miner doesn't do anything specific related to ZIL - just displaying the current hashrate and pool details as reported by the mining software.

Good morning patrike,

First time I am trying to use MiniZ and I am having an issue with it running.
No issues with gminer or trex miner that I've been using for over 1 year.

Setup:
AM v9.3.5 console and agent on miner
Windows 10 21H2 with latest updates
Nvidia driver 496.76
(12) EVGA RTX 3070

Findings:
MiniZ 1.8y2 loads the GPUs very slowly (the green list of RTX 3070's) but will not actually start mining.
MiniZ 1.8y3 loads the first 2 GPUs but then the miner exits. Subsequent reboots of the miner also fail.
Diagnostics with 1.8y3 shows it mining perfectly fine, even when running a 2 minute diag.
I'm also able to successfully run MiniZ 1.8y3 locally via command line, from the AM AppData path, using the same cmd line parameters as shown in the AM console.
Creating a custom miner in AM and specifying path to 1.8y3 also works without issue.
I have tried with no overclock but miner still exits.

I see AM lists MiniZ as "1.8y3 (CUDA: 10.0)" while I see bitcointalk main notes of MiniZ saying CUDA 11 is supported. Otherwise I am lost.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
There is a bug in MiniZ where it sometimes crashes on startup if the monitoring API is being called. So it's basically a timing issue where Awesome Miner sends a request for monitoring details - and depending on where Miniz is in the initialization phase, it may crash.

This is the reason why it always runs fine via the Awesome Miner diagnostics, as no API calls are being made. Same when launching it manually via the command line, as no API calls are being made it works fine.

I've reported this to the MiniZ developer a while ago.

Update: I just added the latest MiniZ 1.8z and on my system it runs perfectly stable now. Please give the new version a try as well.

Hello,
i just contacted you by mail, before i realised you had a topic here Smiley

I see that there are some nicehash users and i'm wondering if awesomeminer can be used to monitor temperature, hashrate and alert me (telegram, sms, etc.) when temperature goes above a selected target or hashrate drops below a certain number ?

i'm note trying to operate my miner through a tool, i just want to use nicehash miner and getting alerted when temperature and hashrate change.

Is it possible with Awesomeminer ?
As @sxemini pointed out, these features are available in Awesome Miner. The rule concept can be used to define when you want a notification and there are also predefined rules that makes it easier to get started.

Although it's preferred to let Awesome Miner control the mining via a Managed Miner, you can also use the concept of an External Miner to point it to an already running mining instace. In both cases you will get hashrate details, temperatures and pool details - but with a Managed Miner you will get more and also more control.

Hi Patrike,

I'm guessing that a future update will handle this change?

Hi Jim,
Yes. The plan is to have a new development release soon where the new auto-region is used.

Hi Patrike, i am not understand, why memory temperature on GPU with GDDR6X memory type will be displayed only if "Change device order" button will be deactivated? Is this a bug or so must be? (linux, hive 0.6-214, AM 9.3.3)
Regards
Thanks for your report. Awesome Miner should be able to figure out and show the details correctly in most cases, without the need of specifying the devices manually. I will look into this case and see how to improve.

Is this with combination of a specific mining software or a general problem?
lolMiner 1.48 (ETH+TON) show mem temp only if "Change device order" is unchecked
TREX 0.25.9 (ETH) show mem temp only if "Change device order" is unchecked
NBminer 40.1 (ETH) not show mem temp in both states.

I think the scenario is the following:
- On Linux, Awesome Miner can only read memory temperature for AMD. For Windows both nVidia and AMD are supported.
- Recent mining software versions for Gminer, Lolminer and T-Rex have found some unofficiall way of reading the nVidia memory temperature on Linux.
- NbMiner and most other mining software cannot report memory temperature for nVidia on Linux
- When you use "Change device order", Awesome Miner will not use the mining software reported temperatures by default. Instead Awesome Miner will use what is available from Awesome Miner itself and also provide a way to set a custom device order.

Please note that "Change device order" is only needed in case you manually need to re-arrange the GPUs - in case Awesome Miner doesn't display the correct hashrate and monitoring details for some reason. In most cases you don't need to enable "Change device order".

When not enabled, you will get the memory temperature for all mining software where it's supported (Gminer, Lolminer, T-Rex).

I will also look into if there is a way to find out how they do read the memory temperature on Linux - as this isn't really public information.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I need to be able to show that the Dev fee being taken is the stated 2.8%. Any way to add that to the Mining History feature?

@Patrike,

Any way you could add a way to audit the Dev fee being extracted when running your Awesome Miner (Vnish) antminer firmware? Also do you make any changes to the vnish firmware other than to integrate it into the software?

TYVM
Thanks for your question. Are you looking for a way to confirm how much of the hash power that is being used for the dev fee pool?

You should be able to see the difficulty and number of accepted share for all pools, including the dev fee pools. Please note that the dev fee pools have a very low difficulty so the number of shares may be quite high while the actual work spend on these pools are low compared to the work spend on your defined mining pools.
Thanks for the suggestion. The mining history doesn't keep track of the number of shares per pool for each time interval at the moment. Right now it's only the primary pool that is being recorded and only how much time is being spent on the pools. It isn't possible to integrate this with the current design of the mining history.

You can at any point in time look at the pools and their number of accepted shares and difficulty to confirm where the hashrate is spend. As you can do this at any point in time you should be able to confirm and trust that the firmware takes the stated fee and nothing more. In case you need to verify this over time one possibility would be to do it via the API of the Antminer - where you can get the raw data, do the calculations and confirm the result.
