glad you got the support you needed

I am working on hosting a seed node for this specific purpose, and integrating it directly into the client

@cryptohunter, is this what you had in mind? We can fill in blanks and adjust details as necessary:

BBR Crowdfunding Template Rough Draft

Our crowdfund will be escrowed using a 2-of-3 multi-signature address.

Please do not send funds directly to this address!

The key holders will be
1. ________
2. ________
3. A well known established escrow

Both escrows will be receiving ________ BBR from the development fund released in batches matching how the funds raised from the crowdfund are released to us.

Verification Post for Keyholder1 : ________
Verification Post for Keyholder2 : ________

Keyholder1 and Keyholder2 received ________ BTC each for their escrow fee

We want to assure investors we are committed to working on this project through thick and thin. As such, we have set certain goals for which much be reached before the release of funding. We will not be receiving the entirety of funds from escrows at the end of the crowdfunding!

Release of funding will go as follows after the escrows are paid:

10% following the conclusion of the crowdfunding after all funds are accounted for
10% after the launch of our initial full node
25% after the the public api 1.0 release to build 3rd party tools for BBR platform
30% after the release of BBR GUI with low RAM consumption and basic core functionality
25% after the first major update / hard fork to implement XMR functionality

This allows us to receive a fair amount early on and gives investors the security of knowing that the escrows are in possession of the funds until we have completed key components of the BBR project. While we may decide to remain anonymous with our identities we can remain transparent with our work, development and finances.

Yes, well just anyway of generating funding for BBR to move forward at a faster pace.

So long as it has a full ledger and is paid for milestones reached at a price agreed before hand I think that is the way to go.

No point saying xmr is doing great without a % dev tax. They have some hugely wealthy financial backers that pay for it all that already hold vast swathes of the currency. BBR does not have this luxury.

I think it makes sense to give up 5% -10% of the future minting to get development rolling and increase the value by 1000% - win win.

Let's just get on with asap before BBR is left in the dust behind another 20 anon projects with larger and better funded development teams.

I think an ongoing mining tax would be an interesting component of compensation for the dev team. Do the miners think that 5-10% is acceptable?

Maybe we need to also add to the list the LMDB work, which CZ said was crucial

There's no multisig in Boolberry or other cryptonotes, and Monero seems to be doing just fine without 1, 5, or more % dev taxes.

We are ramping up development and need to clarify a couple of things.

Donation Process
This update is primarily around formalizing the donations process.

Sporadically, people have donated to @blockology and that has been very helpful. Although the 1% miner tax has not been a priority incentive, this is still enabled and goes to CZ, voluntary donations would spur development better.

There are several objectives and key results which can be funded directly and this will allow the people that worked on those things to be paid directly without ambiguity.

This too is modeled after Monero’s approach to donations and development funding.

For example, there are several approaches to the seed node solution, and they require owning multiple domain names and setting the A names to stable peers.

The domain names themselves would have a cost and having at least one highly connected node under our control would a cost. And paying for it years into the future would be prudent.

Similarly, binaries, and the LMDB are very high priorities.

I’ll be organizing this more in the coming days, showing what the primary objectives are.

Cryptonote

Monero forked to include RingCT and I’ve been monitoring developments in that front, with Boolberry in mind. RingCT has been on the development roadmap since the first research paper was released, and it would require a hard fork in Boolberry.

For now, if a flaw is found in RingCT then boolberry is a good fallback network. If all goes well we would be looking to have the Boolberry community update via hard fork. There would be no contentious hard forks and there are a lot of improvements to bring over without a hard fork.

How about we fork BBR and increase the tax to 5% and send it to a a multi sig wallet with a full ledger. Would this aid development? BBR's development is pretty much at a snails pace compared to other projects. It is the lack of devleopment funds I expect which is causing this. Let's beef up the tax and beef up the dev team?

Firstly thanks for the update and it's good to hear that development is going to be getting ramped up, have you got any figures for costs on the setting up of multiple domains and related costs to the seed node problem? I assume binaries and things like LMDB will be priced up by the contributing dev.

yes I have cost figures

I'll be working on the binaries and LMDB as well, although the project management and community aspect has been time consuming, still expect code Smiley
