What clear advantages does XMR have over BBR and is is possible to rectify these? or have their coders that have been working on the project for over a year really put them in a clear position of domination over BBR that is pretty difficult to null without employing people like fluffy and the guy who cracked sdc for a year on BBR? I did hear CZ may be returning but these wild whispers surface now and then a produce nothing.

This is likely occurring because the daemon only has two seed nodes to connect to by default. If these nodes are not online then your node doesn't know who to connect to the first time you run the daemon. Therefore a long term solution to this will be to change the hard-coded seed nodes in the code repository.
A short term solution for you and others would be to specify a seed node manually. This can be done by doing the following:
boolbd --seed-node 5.9.44.154:10101
This command tells your daemon to treat the bbr.mbkpool.info node as a seed node. As a result, your node will connect to it and download its list of active peers. I got this to overcome the error on my end so I hope it works for others as well.

But some of you keep messaging me asking me questions about the project. So I skyped with Zoidberg to see if there were any updates for the community. He said that the GUI for the new project is complete and now they are going into final testing for the next two months.
More of interest for the BBR community, he said once he is finished he plans to bring all the new features to BBR and since its the same code base he will be able to add it more easily.
He also said he may want to create a black wallet for BBR. Don't ask me what that means, I do not know.
So if you believe that this means a potential brighter future for the project, then maybe BBR is a good buy for you at these prices if you are willing to hold.

Looking back, I was being presumptuous when calling it the BBR GUI. It is more accurately called the LUI GUI, which will hopefully bring more speed and functionality when modified for BBR.
I like the idea of adapting the XMR GUI, but I wonder how difficult that would be.
Would the difference between wild Keccak and cryptonight present particular issues during the adaptation? Seems on first glance that they would use diff amt of RAM

That thread was started under the uncertainty that attempting to revive the project in this moderated thread would be met with hostility and censorship. Censorship didn't happen. I continue leveraging that thread because I can format the first post with all the latest information. Where I wouldn't have access to do that here without daily mutual cooperation.
