Hmm looks like an interesting coin... guess most of us missed the boat! Smiley

Not really. Only 150 billion coins have been mined so far. You can still mine 30 billion or so and then go to https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bcn-bytecoinbtc-google-spreadsheet-exchange-531925 (Marketplace thread) and exchange 1 million BCN for .25 BTC.

I agree. That's why I mine this coin as well as the no-premine version.

Alternate marketplace for those who prefer a forum-based OTC format. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bcn-bytecoin-trading-thread-and-otc-xchg-bid-112-ask-125-last-8-579781

Everyone (except the developers) missed the boat because it was 80% mined before they even released it.

A relaunched version with no premine is here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/xmr-monero-a-secure-private-untraceable-cryptocurrency-583449

The new one has all of the interesting anonymity features and is only about 2% mined.

Nevertheless BCN still has its following, and shouldn't necessarily be dismissed. I still mine it.

Smooth, please stop posting this shit, I pray. Practically everyone knows your opinion.

There are new people showing up all the time. I'm going to respond to their posts as honestly as possible, which is exactly what I did. Note that I didn't say this coin is shit because it was premined. It is what it is. People can make up their own minds.

Not everyone knows this. Only 80% has been mined so far. 20% is still up for grabs. Meantime almost anyone can see Marketplace and sell millions and millions at a time and make BTC.

Everyone (except the developers) missed the boat because it was 80% mined before they even released it. (They claim they "released it" on the deep web, but no one on the deep web nor any deep web search engines has ever seen it. If a tree falls in the forest and no one hears it....)

It's almost May,8th and there is no BCN on comkort exchange.

I doubt it would change in 3 hours. Furthermore, there are some problems with other coins on the exchange because according to the site blockchain is stuck

We disabled all operations for this coins due to blockchain stuck.

IMO they are going to delay it for a week again. Hope to see BCN asap.

Merged mining is what crypto currencies need now. It allows to use resources effectively and as miner I would like to use this feature. Thanks FantomCoin for this ability..I don’t understand authors of BitMonero, why the didn’t they implement merged mining?? Huh Huh

Because there is no reason to merge mine with a coin that has 80% premine.

Can you explain your statement?

IMHO that GreekBitcoin is trying to support Monero as he is one of it's devs.
The only ''argument'' they have is that BCN was ''premined''!
I would like to quote emontmon as he is independent from MRO and BCN devs, IMO

I don't think it is fair to say bytecoin was ninja mined for 2 tyears. It was most like announced on the deep web. I don't think a third world country can say bitcoin was ninja mined just because they were not aware of it.

I feel as though despite the surface intention of cryptocurrencies to become currency everyone treats cryptocurrency as  comodity. People seem to feel left out easily because they were not part of the early adapters. Bytecoin has my vote because it is easy to mine it and obtain coins.  Now if some one could implement a master coin protocol on top of it to create colored coins it would be great. Perhaps adding it to the exchange is the wrong approach.  It becomes a commodity.

I have a question...
Again, I'm not techno-geek, but even for me https://bytecoin.org/ looks not the best way it can.

If this coin has been around for 2 years, why doesn't a single exchange have it?
its not the same as other coins.  very hard to add to an exchange

What I really like about this is awesome anonymity. Normally, when you post your public address, anyone can check all your incoming transactions even if they are hidden behind a ring signature. Cryptonote technology used in BCN provide unlinkable transactions.

Fixed that was odd

It happens on regular basis.
You would think everything should work perfect when they charge 10% mining fee  Undecided
