It is generally not a good idea to make assumptions about people when you do not know their circumstances.

Actually no. Creditors make this decision all the time. If you are owed a million dollars from someone with no assets and no income, and you sue this person in court, all you will get is a worthless judgment and a bill from your lawyers. If the debitor wants to stick it to you, he might take actions to make you get a bigger bill from your lawyers.

I think you are the one who does not understand how the "law" (or specifically lawsuits) work. When you sue someone, you are opening yourself up to discovery and to being deposed.
If this is the case, Dominion's lawsuit would be frivolous. Dominion is claiming to have suffered $600 million in damages resulting from Guiliani's alleged defamation, but if Guiliani's statements were false on their face, there would be no damages.

Oh yeah, totally just a major PR play that they know isn’t going to end up paying them out anyway.

Giuliani could probably just say that all of his claims were made on behalf of the campaign or that he puts on a show and dance as a performer (not sure on the legal claims of all of this, but still) I think that due to Dominion being in the media a lot, they may have a higher bar they must prove in defamation

I don't think Dominion was smart for filing this lawsuit. Giuliani almost certainly does not have significant assets, so Dominion is not going to recover what they are alleging are damages even if they win the case, and the case will give an opening for Guiliani to look for and air out any potential dirty laundry of Dominion's employees, and scrutinize Dominion itself. I doubt the outcome of the case will change many minds regarding Dominion, including those that are decision-makers deciding if local governments will employ Dominion.

 

TBH I'm not a big fan of defamation lawsuits, particularly by large corporations, but these types of cases are notoriously hard to win and Giuliani was deliberately making shit up so this seems to be well deserved. OTOH he doesn't have a billion dollars anyway so this is pretty much a PR play.

War decimates people and production. The Chinese don't want it, and neither do Biden and Trump.

The Chinese might have stepped in for war if Trump had formally been inaugurated. With Biden in, they have no reason to, as he is their puppet.

Landmark case for NYSBA. I’d the put the odds at 50/50 of him actually getting disbarred here. May just end up with a pretty hefty punishment from them and a certain amount of time with his license taken away. We’ll see.

I think it was a week or two after the election, but yeah, true story.

I have no doubt you would have paid up but on the other hand I would have probably spent it on useless crap. Ultimately this wasn't about money anyway. Don't feel bad about it. I'm sure you have better ways to use that coin (e.g. hodl) than I do.

This isn’t 100% correct..

Just before the election, when I set up the escrow with SM, SM said they forgave the bet and didn’t want to be paid for it if they won, but would still pay if they lost.. I returned the same courtesy if I won, basically forgiving the bet both ways..
That’s why I only paid out to escrow for you and twitch’s bets..

I was set to put all 3 bets into collateral with SM, what I intended to do, but only ended up putting the 2 for you and twitch in escrow with SM because of that..
I was GOING to pay all 3, but the one with SM was called off.. Not by my choice or mention, but by SM..
So I didn’t actually “pay” that one out.. But I 100% would have..

Y’all need to know because I don’t feel good having false info out there about me doing something that I didn’t, especially on my trust page, as you stated..

Kinda feel shitty not paying it out, but I guess I’ll keep it (mostly), but am probably going to do a little something so I can feel ok about it for myself..

Thanks, suchmoon. This is really a great idea for a really fun game. Simply add a bunch of colors. Each player takes a color, and tries to Trump dump his color onto a State faster than his opponents can cancel his color out with theirs. Anybody who doesn't maintain his color on the board is out of the game. Simply add a time limit - like 3 minutes - and whoever has the most States colored his color, wins. Love it ❤!

Let's see how fast somebody can start making this game!
