Automatic subs happen at the end of each GW. So it will happen for you maybe 2 hours after United finishes tonight. Just the way game works.

Ah great. And which player will be picked? The one who is listed as 1. DEF on the bank in this example?
That is more complicated. Your first sub will be picked if he doesn't break formation rules.

Example: you started with 3 defenders and your first sub is forward, he will be skipped and your first defender sub will get in.

But if you started with 4 at the back, than your first sub will be picked even if he was striker. Hopefully it is clear enough for you. If not, post screenshot and I will tell you who will enter for you.

It selects the subs based on points earned, right? (Assuming that formation rules aren't broken of course.) for example, I can't imagine it choosing a 1 pt. sub over a 5 pt. sub.
No, first sub it is. If it was your way it would break the game, everyone would put 2X4.0 defenders which do not play in the team and have 3 good subs to get max points.

Some things look strange at first but you will see as you gain experience that any other way would actually be way worse.

Mbeumo is another player to put on watchlist.

I thought you would've bought Mbeumo by now, if not already?  Huh

Not the right time-

Man you have two Crystal Palace defenders in your lineup, Mings on your bench is out for months and next Crystal Palace game is against Arsenal. Your end is here.

Does anyone have Sterling on their team? Cheesy It looks like he is also one player for Chelsea that his experience is going to be heavily depended on in this young Chelsea team. I think if he does not get injured this season, he will play many games for Chelsea and score some goals too.

Unless you want to stick to 2 match point for appearance. Sterling is one of the weak link in our attack He hasn't done so much lately.

and unless he hits some crazy stride of confidence he'll be mid at best.
You noticed it too right, Havertz is really lacking confidence. He had many decent opportunities to try the goalkeeper from distance, just a German players are known for, he kept passing the ball. He had chances to run into the Nottingham forest penalty box and put them under pressure, he passed the ball too.

Come on today Rashford, you are my last bullet in the magazine.
I just want this game to be done with already let me see the point gaps. Don’t just know how you guys are still having players yet to feature in GW1.
I still have three bullets to bank on; Martinez, Casimero and Fernades. I expect top performance from these players later today and hope that Onana will not decide to be a midfielder today again instead of a goalkeeper. They should be able to win the game and keep a clean sheet.

The entire team is built around Maddison, and if he stays fit, he'll provide us with a lot of differential points. There are simply too many midfield options this season, and you're correct about Chilwell, but I think things may change if we pull off the Eze deal this week ( Chilwell returns to the back). We could switch to a 4-3-3 or a 3-5-2 formation with Eze, Jackson, and Sterling up front.

Salah looks dangerous but that early sub keeps me away from him.
Diaz is also another good choice from Liverpool, My big fear about him is Injury and small game time because he does not play full games, he is always substituted out or in.

As I have Stones and Gabriel both in my squad I'm thinking of replacing one of them with R.James for gw2. However I haven't decided yet. Besides as Nicolas Jackson showed that he has the potential to collect so many points in the coming weeks I have it mind to add him to my squad as well in some way. But I don't know how to do it.

@Igebotz, I should have listened to you about Kai Havertz - I've prematurely dropped his ass ahead of GW2, just can't see the 7.5m valuation there and unless he hits some crazy stride of confidence he'll be mid at best. Love the start of the season, though!  Grin

£7.5m flop ! Maddison is the same price as Kai Havertz and is four times the player. There are players who aren't fit for FPL, and Kai is one of them.

Mbeumo is another player to put on watchlist.
I don’t know how Kai Havertz managed to get on some people’s team, perhaps some way to get what your price allows you but, his not a player that can make any good impact from his performance at Chelsea last season. I think his just going to feature more as a new signing and would later be vying for his spot on the team. His a good waste of £7.5m alright, Bowen is just about £7.0m and you’ve still got a bank role of £0.5m for your bank role.

Bowen is one player am looking up to, I didn’t had a good look at the Spurs game but, am sure Madison is a good player and would improve in Spurs as well as the Spurs play which makes him a player to watch out for.

Come on today Rashford, you are my last bullet in the magazine.

seek3r im not a profesional in fantasy and also im not so good in this kind of games, but its risky to have so low key subs i think, they are not gonna play so much and in some round you surely can have a few injurys rotations or red cards, so for not having proper subs you are gonna use so much transfers.

Sounds reasoning to me.

But here is a screenshot of my subs, just to want to make sure if I got it right:

Normally Holgate would be picked if he would have played right? But since Baldock is the only defender who was playing from my substitutes he will be picked.

Does FPL automatically substitute players into your XI from your bench if some of your lineup does not pay a single minute (or gets a yellow card)?
Yes, but only if your player did not play a single minute. If your starter played, missed a penalty and got red card you will still keep -2 points even if you have heaps of points on bench.

Did I something wrong? Still had Stones on my team and there was no substitute for him for this first GW.

can't say that I am not satisfied with midfield and attacking options, but missed on all defenders, keeper included

would be better if Gabriel didn't take this few minutes, but ok, let's see what next round brings, on the long run I expect more clean sheets from Arsenal and Newcastle

didn't expect Maddison to be that good, congrats to all that picked him

Some early thoughts from me after watching the games yesterday. Chilwell looks incredibly attacking and he will be my first choice going forward. Everything in Spurs goes through Maddison, and I mean absolutely everything, really happy that I started with him.

Finally got our man! Caidedo - Liverpool made us overpaid for Caicedo and we're about to make them over pay for Lavia. They are literally going to pay more than the initial release clause of £50m now or lose him to Chelsea.

Brighton and Southampton are the winners in this stupid money game from Liverpool.

Salah looks dangerous but that early sub keeps me away from him. Playing 100 minutes should have been his strong point. Udogie and Henry look dangerous going forward and I believe I will add them to the team sooner or later.
