I'm one of the rare ones that decided to go without Haaland, it's been a shitty call it seems.

All 7 of my offensive players will have to average 175 points to compensate for that, but it just seemed more fun to assemble a team a bit differently.
I decided to go with Salah, I expect him to have a great season. He'll probably have a slow start though.

What to do with Stones? Considering that he did not start him, tinkering Pep probably won't be putting him in the same position he was in last season. Makes sense to rotate him out early.

I also transferred in Stones + Grealish for Saka at the last minute and now it seems that Stones is injured (so I swapped him out for my Aston Villa bench). And Grealish was never intended to be a long term pick anyway, I was hoping he'd score a few thundercunts at the first few games.

Well I was already going to sell Stones for GW2 anyway, but hopefully I am not wrong about Saka as I still have Odegaard (and Gibbs-White).

It helps to have a strong bench in times like these, that's why I didn't buy 6.0 forward like Wissa or JP.

Pep and his mind game once again - Stones was injured in training before the game and he never talked about it, he kept it quiet, I'm not sure he's gotta be available for next GW he's my long term plan thus I'd prefer have him on my bench until I know the extent of his injury.

Saka and Ode were in my long-term plan last season; I already have Saka, but I didn't have enough balance to get Ode, so I'm keeping an eye on him for now

Pep Roulette is going to kill most managers this season.

let's say you have 3 players from one team in your squad and suddenly (because the transfer window is still open) a player (who you also have in your squad but from a different team) changes to exactly the same club from which you already have these 3 players - so you would then have 4 players from the same team in your squad
what happens in this case exactly Huh

The rule book says you still have to transfer one of them out.
It isn't that clear, stuff like that happened before and I think FPL gave you a free transfer to remove that player or even let you keep him. Not sure though. The game does check for that only when you make transfers so you can use him until you need to make first transfer.

Foden will definitely be a regular player for City this season not doubt about that, unless Man City are able to make those extra signings like Paqueta, and now that De Bruyne is out injured, there is no better time to get Foden in, he's been great at finding those open spaces in the Burnley setup, you would almost think that was Gundogan, and we also know how much of a good finisher Foden really is.
Good luck with that. If I learned one thing about City that is - nobody is secure, except maybe Haaland and Ederson. All other players will get rotated sooner or later. Problem is they are the best team and we want their players but I don't want that added stress of checking lineups every time City plays. Screw them, I have Haaland and that is it.

You just saw what Pep did with defense yesterday, there isn't a single FPL specialist or anybody that could have predicted that.

I made an oopsie and forgot to change Haland back to captain before the deadline, Arsenal and Brighton looked more like a one sided goalfeast but they don't have a single player that is as central to the team as Manchester City. Also I benched two Manchester City players that scored some points.
Let's see if my predictions about Arsenal and Brighton being very dominant will pay off in the end, I'm still learning this.

it is certainly somewhere in the fpl rules clarified but since some fpl pros play here i did not want to search now and ask the question here Cool

btw i hope that KDB is not seriously injured and will be able to play again soon.

edit: the belgian midfielder was injured 'in the same place and in the same position as in the champions league', Pep Guardiola explained after the match and announced that his strategist would miss 'a few weeks' from now on. Tongue

didn't expect to be this easy for City against Burnley, but there is an obvious difference in class, and they scored fast goals
bad thing I didn't choose any more City players, nothing in defenders, and they will keep clean sheet, too many rotation to have City defenders in the team

I got Stone and dozed off, I didn't pay heed to the leaked lineup news, and now I'm paying for it with O pointer. Another reason I dislike city backlines is because you never know what will happen. The Burnley team has far too many youngsters; they will undoubtedly return to the Championship.

If KBD can't stay fit, he's a huge risk at his current price. Must be avoided at all costs. Age is starting to take its toll.

Come on Kane you already fucked me, i choose him and not Haaland, i change him before the start of the match, but come on, i dont wanna change my whole team to make Haaland fit, so this week i dont put Haaland, and you see....2 goals for Haaland and a lot of game to go.

Man, I don't know what to say but it's as though you just didn't follow the no. 1 rule for FPL for this season, Haaland cost a fortune, but he's got to be the first pick for almost every manager, then you get to work your way around the remaining budget, even if Kane wasn't transfer bound to Bayern Munich, he wasn't on any of my drafts yet, I would have waited a few weeks before bringing him in, if it's worth it, and I would have thought him as a must have against Brentford as a team, I'd rather have settled for a better midfield at his expense in exchange for a 7-8m forward.

Haaland looking like a popular name in here both as a starting player and captain ..and I thought 14million was too much money for one player Roll Eyes anyway great investment as Haaland is already on the scoresheet, hope our golden boot Winner 🏆  keeps getting those goals Cool

Kdb could be substituted for Kovacic as his injury concerns could have reoccured...not good for Kevin's fans  Embarrassed

I lost points on KDB. It's definitely not a happy outcome. Considering I had multiple chances to opt for Bruno instead of him for GW1 and just left it. I had concerns that he might not start or be injured and it just got confirmed. I'm just  up and hopeful if Haaland can compensate for those potential points I've missed from KDB.

Edit: Another goal from Haaland.

QQ: Did anyone used the Triple captain chip on Haaland for GW1?

After going blank in the shield, I'm not sure a lot of persons, at least not anyone from the pool would Triple captain on Haaland just yet, but there will always be that one person on FPL general website that would have used the chip in this round.

I think it was very obvious that KDB was fit at all, and I never expected him to start this game all along, but Kovacic is about to a good player to have very soon, as soon as he start getting assists and bonus points in the absence of De Bruyne, might be a worthy bench to have for a fair price.

Halaand will always be the main and captain guy; remove him at your own risk. We no longer have to worry about Halaand and Kane captaincy issues.

Oh Stone not in the starting IX. Pep I'm familiar with your game. The only Manchester City player worth getting is Halaand; everyone else is a gamble.

I have built my squad like this for the first week. I have added Son to my squad at the last moment. I wasn't going to add him to my squad because of making me fall behind in the standings by making a horrible start to last season. However I think he can be more effective in scoring goals after Kane.

By the way, seems like Foden, DeBruyne and Rico Lewis will start while Stones, Ruben and Guardiol will not start. Pep roulette hits defense in GW1 just to give you a taste of what is to come  Grin Not confirmed yet but usually reliable source.

I read a report stating Ruben, Stones, Walker and Gvardiol will start at the back  Shocked

I know I cannot always trust the updates from Livescore.com, But from the team line-up from their end, Foden and Rico Lewis are not in the starting XI. De Bruyne is on starting, Ruben Dias and Stones too.

Both of those sites are garbage then, nobody can predict City lineups but problem here is that Ruben Dias did not even travel with the squad, that is 2 day old news and should have been included in reports of good sites.

That info I gave was probably from the people in the know or maybe supporters seeing players come to the match. That always leaks on twitter and social media and is too late for "report sites" to catch up.

Official line ups are available 1 hour before the match, and FPL deadline is 90 minutes before the match so they can't help us.

The deadline for free transfers is over, no more overthinking for now  Grin

Yeah, Now that we are over the deadline, I'm going to share what my team looks like, No Liverpool, nor any one from Chelsea (but just yet, I'd say)

I had Salah all along, but then I just had to switch to Bruno Fernandes in final minutes before the deadline, Gvardiol also just came in for Stones as long term asset, as I'd expect him to be nailed in, so I could really careless about him not starting in Gameweek 1, and the extra 0.5m that I get to save was the major determinant for that move, really!

Let's get it on fellas! May the best Snow (you might need to see the Game of Thrones to get that) wins!

Maybe Gvardiol will play some minutes in the second half, Foden as well.

It is not even necessary that you get invitation on time. Just make sure to sort your team and you will have all your points even if you join in a week. But deadline is in 20 minutes and i will be available until then so feel free to PM me.

It sounds like Pep Guardiola's lineup choices might be unpredictable, especially for the defense,I have Chilwell in my lineup, but I left him on the bench and started Stones. Unfortunately, I couldn't make the change because the website wasn't responding to my choices.
