Hey, my name is idiot and I used my wildcard three weeks ago. Now I need to make 4 transfers to bring my team to life).

you have free-hit as well, don't you?
it would not be easy to navigate through all these postponements, and probably some players will be left in the team, no matter teams not playing that week, that could not be changed

Salah is getting out, and that is probably for good (would not do that without Liverpool postponement this week, so maybe this turn out to be good after all)

If you think you figured out how to navigate through the recent postponements (whether with hits or wildcards), well...think again:

Arsenal's Europa League tie against PSV has been moved to October 20.

The Premier League have postponed Arsenal v Manchester City which was due to be played on October 19.

Arsenal and City were set to meet in GW12, and given how popular their players have been thus far, i'm pretty positive most people currently have 5 or 6 players in their squads. It's gonna be a major hurdle to deal with consecutive blanks of this magnitude.

Prayers and thoughts to those who already used their first wildcard... Grin

Now that makes our first list of double game weeks..

It gets no worse than this, I'd say. Now that's another headache to navigate through, but at least this time it's better with 4 weeks prior notice, unlike the sudden ones for last and this game week.

I only have 4 players from both teams combined, so I'm not so bothered. I can make two transfers and bring in another two from the my bench.

you'll currently have 2 two free transfer for the next game week (9), and the week after that (10) you'll have another one with which you can still rotate your team to get very close to your initial plan without taken any point loss from this coming game week with the players with postponed fixtures and you'd still end up with the team you wanted for your wildcard initially.

Yeah I kinda forgot that I have another free transfer this week so that would be 3 players out of the equation for the GW so yeah I guess I'll hold up the wildcard chip for now. I'll probably decide on which players to swap out with on Thursday as we could be getting another game postponed which I hope dont happen otherwise its sucks

I'll add my opinion to the mix as well. For me it comes down to the math, if you have wildcard and have to go more than -4 this week to get 11 starting players use it.

Gotcha, I guess I could bear with -4 points for another transfer as well so that will put only 1 player out of the equation. Thats an option as well

Just make sure to pick players with 5,6 game weeks in mind, not just this one. Biggest problem for me in this situation is Chelsea, they have great fixtures going forward but they have new manager and blank this week.

If you don't have wild card, you can also use free hit, but that is more valuable chip cause of its rarity so I wouldn't activate it for less then -12 points. There will be other, probably better, opportunities to use it.

I am currently on -12 and contemplating weather to use free hit chip, I will probably not use it if we don't get any new info. That is -12 in my head with planned transfers, not gonna do anything before CL matches finish. Imagine going out of your way to target Kane against Leicester and then he gets injured in CL game? Disaster.

dang I have like 5 players from Liverpool and Chelsea altogether

It's a FPL pandemic, so I don't think I'll be rushing into making any hasty decision(s) just yet, I've also got 2 players from Brighton, 2 from Liverpool and 1 each from both Leeds and Man United, that's 6 players without a fixture, I guess these circumstances are vital to what makes a better football manager  Roll Eyes

Most teams are still heavy on Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, and maybe even Brighton players, postponing the London games on Sunday only will be the absolute worst-case scenario. With my team, i'll only have 6 players available and will have to field Danny-fucking-Ward at Spurs, lol. I'll definitely have to burn my wildcard a week or two earlier than desired.

probably 4 on the field if I decided to bench one from the midfield but is it worth to use the wild card with 4-5 players not getting any points or should I wait for it to be atleast 6 though? Still pretty clueless on when is the best time to use it

There is no wrong time to use the wild card to be honest, just use it whenever you feel it's worth, Let me try an explain how best to go about it, why most people are waiting for after the international break is literally due to the fixtures swing and the potential injuries that would come from the break, so If you want to use your wild card now, you might have to ask to ask your self a few questions such as;

One, will it be projected towards the players you plan on having after the international break if that's when you plan to use it, maybe due to a perceived favorable fixtures after the break, and secondly would they also be playing in the coming weekend ?

If the answers to questions are Yes, Yes, then you should go for it by all means, since you'll be getting some points for them playing this week and since they're already a part of your plans for after the break, so it wouldn't hurt to bring them in just a bit earlier and get a couple of points from them, all you just need is to hope for an injury-free international duties.

However, If the answers to the questions above is a No, Yes. Then, alternatively, you can also still use your wildcard and have a perhaps a maximum of 3-5 players deviation from your intended lineup for after the break, you'll currently have 2 two free transfer for the next game week (9), and the week after that (10) you'll have another one with which you can still rotate your team to get very close to your initial plan without taken any point loss from this coming game week with the players with postponed fixtures and you'd still end up with the team you wanted for your wildcard initially.

Finally, If the answers to the question is Yes, No or No, No. Then, there is absolutely no reason to use the wildcard before the international break, due to the several uncertainties surrounding it and bringing them in early just in time for this current game week also would not serve any purpose, the best move to rather make is to just make use of your free transfer(s) for this game week to get in the most essential players that should be playing during the weekend and hope for the best, then make plans for after the break.

💥SCOOP: Foreign heads of state and their spouses heading to London for the state funeral for Queen Elizabeth II have been asked to arrive in the U.K. on commercial flights and banned from using helicopters to get around.

World leaders have also been told they cannot use their own state cars to attend the funeral at Westminster Abbey on September 19 — and will instead be bussed in en masse from a site in west London, according to documents obtained by POLITICO revealing strict protocol rules.

I really hope GW8 goes as planned without postponements...though things will get crazy in London around Sunday-Monday.

I already have an idea of what I want for the next game week too, but I might just project it toward Game Week 9, incase we don't get another action next weekend

So in this case, its either to predict which player will get to rest on the bench and which will be playing on the field as rotation might be coming soon as there is no points this week. Its kinda like hit and miss at this point isnt it as the players that we thought might be sitting on the bench could be playing on the next GW but most players could be playing though as they get to rest due to the unfortunate event

I've still got  most of my options as per wide cards, triple and bench boost in place but, over the week after a very bad game week through GW3-GW6, of which most of it was due to maintaining my team out of indecision and procrastination, I finally get to make the changes and sacrifices 12points to get the players I needed in my team and was ready to watch them role before tragedy struck in the Queens death. Unfortunate indeed and as we pay our last respect in a boring week, FPL have given me another 1 free transfer and that could have been 4points saved. Perhaps another in the coming week and my 12points would just be gone for nothing.
Perhaps the free transfers might prove useful in future game weeks, to get Rodrygo when his injury free Perhaps.
Why give up 12 points when you still have a Wildcard, buddy? I believe I used mine in GW2 when I learned that four of my players had been benched and could only receive 20 minutes of playing time each game week. I got rid of them, but it was still insufficient, so I went as far as spending an additional 8 points to acquire a super team, and the outcome has been encouraging thus far.

You should be aware that Rodrigo will likely be sidelined until October due to a shoulder injury.

Wtf! My top pick, GK Pickford, won't be available until October. Meh.

Why didn't you use freehit chip after the news of postponement and FPL noticed were known? All chips used are given back this week as per their notice. Meaning you use free hit, remove negative points, and then get free hit back Smiley
Oh boy! There is a lot I still don't know of this game!! Of course I am hearing this for the first time!!!
Is it still available? So I could navigate the app a little to see if I could find it.
This is where experience talks a toll of 12points on me, lol...

This hasn't happened before in the FPL, so know one could have known, but it was all stated in the updated post from FPL which was shared here
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.60908144 and that happens to be another reason to not get into transfer very early into the week and it could easily have been avoided. I made only one transfer very early into the week too, but I kept the other one for an emergency purpose like a Thursday/Friday knock ruling a player out of the game round.

I already have an idea of what I want for the next game week too, but I might just project it toward Game Week 9, incase we don't get another action next weekend, I'm sure that make the use of wild card more probable towards gameweek 13, since I can leave just 5 changes instead of the complete team overhaul.

Of course that means you would not receive that additional free transfer so maybe it wouldn't actually help you in the long run.
I guess that's another option to it but, with the uncertainty of my changes, the free hit would have been a better choice as 12points at hand and having effect my changes would have meant more than have expectations in uncertainties.

Really unfortunate for that Brighton postponement. That will be a though GW for me to navigate with 2 Brighton players in the team.
What happens now? if the GW goes ahead, do Brighton players on FPL teams automatically receive 0 points or something? Man, people with triples and no wildcard available must be fuming rigth now, Potter gone and now the game's postponed  Lips sealed

Cool. I wasn't sure I had time to put in my changes this week, such a busy weekend with almost no time to do anything other than post on forum here while travelling.

Things for me to do on next change:
- FORMATION (yeah, dumb, I stuck with what I had)
- Free Chip (delayed using it and now it's refreshed, maybe I use this early on instead).

I see that the official FPL site has updated its info, GW7 fixtures are off as mentioned above but the deadline remains the same. Those who have activated their WC this week or have two FTs might want to look forward to GW9, i personally have doubts GW8 will go ahead as planned but that's to be confirmed i guess.

Prepare for no Prem League football until after the international break, and that is early October... Undecided

Postponed fixtures will be allocated to another date. Points scored in these fixtures will apply to the Gameweek in which the fixtures are played and not to GW7

🔘 Gameweek 7 will roll over with no points scored

🔘 Triple Captain, Bench Boost & Free Hit Chips activated for GW7 will be reinstated. Wildcards will roll into the next Gameweek

Somebody wrote that football doesn't stop in this situation unless FA decides to stop it, some other guy on twitter wrote we will not have PL until after international break. At this point it is speculation, we will find out about it soon enough.

Problem is that fixture congestion is already really high cause of World Cup and there is no space to reschedule these matches.

I am sure Chelsea and Liverpool would not mind a couple of weeks break to consolidate.

The FA have decided to postpone this round of fixtures "As a mark of respect to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, this weekend’s Premier League match round will be postponed.", but look at the statement it's likely that next week fixtures will hold accordingly, or at the very most will be played at a different time so it doesn't coincide with the queen's burial.

https://twitter.com/premierleague/status/1568185317169188864

EDIT: That'd surely mar my plans at large, for the next game week, initially planned to be rid of Liverpool players ahead of the Chelsea after they're done playing Wolverhampton this weekend, but with two Brighton players on my squad, I have to settle for Salah and/or Arnold still, while being getting rid of Trossard and/or Grob, I could settle for just one from each Liverpool and Brighton if there's any other of my bench players that is likely to have better fixtures with Andreas Pereira also playing against Neco Williams for next week, I might just settle for Andreas.

What else, your player did not play, 0 points for you.

If I knew about that on time I would maybe prioritise Brighton transfers but it isn't that bad. At least Brighton has cheep players ao we can bench them.

What if we get a postponement of all games which will make even bigger problems for our teams. I had 2 more game weeks to prepare for fixture swing and now I have no way to do so. I just hope games go on as planned, Brighton players not playing I can cover, but loosing 2 game weeks would give me a huge headache going forward.
