Well it seems both Alvarez and Haaland are going to get crazy amount of points if you captain either one of them. Haaland with another Hattrick and Alvarez with two goals. Im really glad I chose Haaland at the end for the captain

Anyway it seems most of the midfield / strikers that most players have will ended up getting decent amount points though. Firmino just scored, Salah with the assist as well as both Jesus and  Martinelli
I tried getting Erling Haaland on my team over the weekend but, I already brought in Kevin De Bruyne and have Walker and Cancelo on my defence already and as such, the move wasn't allowed due to too many players from a single team unfortunately but not on expected, Erling Haaland scored yet another hat-trick right from the first half of the game. Mean while, Pep saw it fit to have De Bruyne on the bench, only to come on as a substitute.
These paste few game weeks have not worked so well for me, would be doing some real adjustment soon and see what points I could get in GW6.

You can't really compare Salah to the rest of the players regarding fitness, he is one of those with natural fitness numbers trough the roof and he has incredible recovery. Don't you remember Salah playing 120 minutes every 3 days on AFCON coming back home and playing full 90 in the first game just a couple days later? At the same time Mane got 10 days off. He can and wants to play every game and that is why he is such great FPL asset.

Yeah I kinda remembered that but back then he was great with Liverpool. Most players that are on their prime condition wont like it when they get subbed off but things are competely currently different to Liverpool so chances that he might be rotated for the upcoming UCL? Idk though, the fantasy premier league isnt indication that Salah and Haaland will miss the next game

Ramsdale on the other hand has 75% chance of not playing, glad that I have Pope on my bench for this

Salah is at probably at the pick of his fitness level and has never been injury prone, no doubt but my perspective is coming from the fact that it's still pretty much a very long season to play for and you can't afford your best player to unnecessarily get fatigued this early into the season, If it can be avoided. Given Haaland's terrific form too, Guardiola might likely not leave him on the bench for too long, especially if they're having a tough game.

I'm at a crossroad here, I'm need 3-4 transfers to feel confident go into this Game week, I'll be fine with 3, but all I have now is 2 transfers, I really don't like the idea of spending 4 extra points for the additional transfer, and using my wildcard(which I plan on using in 3-4 GW from now) now would literally be me wasting one transfer. My pessimism wouldn't let me imagine the possibility of the supposed transfers making up for those 4 points, or me not needing those 4 points at the end of the season, while I as well don't want to get comfortable with idea of losing extra points for any transfer  Undecided Undecided

I'm pretty sure Haaland likely wouldn't start the during the weekend, but I'd except for the fact that Liverpool are currently facing a bit of struggles themselves, I'd have said Salah should also get a breather because he's played every minute of Liverpool fixtures so far

Yeah pretty much these two are either going to play only for like 45 minutes or probably wont play at all this weekend. So I got both of these two on my draft but Im quite confused on who should I switch either one of them with, dang and Im not sure if taking Haaland out is going to be a wise choice considering that he is quite pricey

If I could get even odds at who will play more minutes on the weekend I would put everything on Salah. That being said Haaland is in incredible form and could outscore Salah if he gets even just last 20 minutes. Torn between those for captaincy as well.

Salah's second assist at the last possible moment and subsequent two bonus points saved the gameweek for those of us who captained him, it's only 7 points difference at the end but it could have been so much worse. I mean we were for a brutal points swing with Haaland's quick hat-trick and Liverpool's FH struggles to score...man what a stressful couple of hours.

Had he not get those points man, I was 100% on letting him go tbvh, I would have been able to make decent squad rotation of another top midfielder and a valuable striker as well instead of wasting those valuable budget on him, as if that's not enough to go with what would have been a complete waste of captaincy, if that second assist hadn't come surely the 2 bonus points wouldn't have as well, so that'd have been losing as many as 26 points to an opponent that captained Haaland over the weekend and last night.. sigh 😏
Exactly, that late assist from Salah and goal from Cancelo sort of saved my game week. Could have been so much worse. Had to buy Haaland after this even though I think he is due a rest.

Nice and quite insightful write up you've got there! Haaland playing as many as 30 minutes might always be enough to get significant amount of points for any game week, but the problem is with Guardiola you just can never be too sure, I saw several post tipping KDB as best option for the GW not knowing Guardiola have had other plans, I'm pretty sure Haaland likely wouldn't start the during the weekend, but I'd except for the fact that Liverpool are currently facing a bit of struggles themselves, I'd have said Salah should also get a breather because he's played every minute of Liverpool fixtures so far, at least as the UCL is due for the next midweek Klopp should prefer having him well rested and energetic.

Now waiting for Pep to save my game week and destroy dreams of Haaland captainers.

as far from this as possible
changed Haaland for Jesus and Rodrigo, could not be more wrong to do that

what about Liverpool, is this definitely sign that this season will not put them into championship fight?
good thing that Villa scored, now Jesus is under pressure to score one more

wth happened to James yesterday? injury? and Koulibaly was my 'free transfer' for this GW, ffs!

next weekend, Chelsea v West Ham, and i'm not getting my hopes up, Chelsea in this bottom-of-the-league form can lose to anyone, what a great time to have chelsea doubles in the FPL, eh? grim

Now waiting for Pep to save my game week and destroy dreams of Haaland captainers.
i'm relying on City and Arsenal today, but i wouldn't mind more upsets tbh, i'd probably prefer that so that everyone stops earning points  Cheesy
Best I could find about James is that he had some minor illness and did not travel with the team as a precaution. If that is true he should be back for next game. Why would you buy Koulibaly? I don't want Chelsea double up but I am seriously considering Fofana at just 4.4M. Playing Chelsea defender at that price should be a steal as first bench option.

I am hoping City and Haaland flop tonight while Salah punishes disbelievers. Otherwise I'll be bottom of all leagues  Grin
i thought it was gonna be a field day for Chelsea, the game were they gonna find their mojo and display proper football with a comfortable win... so naive, this delusion costed me some points and a free tranfer  Cheesy

Fofana? yeah 4.4M seems like a bargain for a first-team CB playing in a team that sometimes uses the 3-5-2 formation, plus being a 70M transfer could guarantee him plenty of minutes during the fixture congestion,, actually, with the current defence playing like crap i wouldn't be surprised if he goes straight into the starting XI

Yeah, No coach/team would splash 70M on a player he/they intend to keep on the bench, and with either Cucurella or James consistently playing at CB for several  week you'll know the Chelsea does need another CB, he's surely going to slot right into the squad, it's not as though there currently is any form of chemistry at Chelsea's backline that will get disrupted, so I agree that he's such a bargain at such price even if it's as a bench player because it would give another dynamic to a manager and you can substitute him in at will.

So what a great bunch of games from Fantasy point of view yesterday. If somebody has more than 5 points he did well  Wink

My latest transfer Dunk also performed admirably and immediately got me a return of -1. Good thing I did not do more transfers after hearing about James not traveling with the squad.

I wouldn't do anything out of hand If I were, I'll playing catch up but not too aggressively because It's just week 4 of 38, there is more than enough time for everyone to win it all.

Yeah I guess Im pretty happy with my current draft. Adding up perisic last week paid off and Van Djik finally gotten his hands on some points. Few of my Arsenal's players wasnt really getting that many points but they were decent for the last 4 weeks so everything seems pretty decent right now except that if the managers start rolling out rotation for their squad

Just strategize how you dim fit, getting just about the average of the pool every week will be more than enough and take every decision as a 4 week decision.

Maybe you should think about Julián Álvarez.

and trust me If I was down on the table and playing to catchup with other managers in the pool, I would have gone with Haaland to be very honest, but I predicted that majority of the managers I'm in contention with would have Salah as their captain, so I'd rather take a risk of having just 6 points together with 85% of managers in the entire pool and 95-100% of managers in the top 7, and then try to outsmart them in other areas of the field, than getting more points in every other area of the field and end up losing them significantly to the captaincy.

So in my case, I should probably go with something out of the box to haul up points to catch up with the others rather than sticking with the conservative ways since Im currently 2nd from the last on the table. Well speaking of this, I actually would have hauled up crazy amount of points if I didnt change my captain to Salah from Haaland

Another bad move every week and now Im a bit below average points again this week
