KDB stays- another greedy mistake from Manchester city.

Means Eze doesn't go to City and mess up everybody's templates!  Smiley

Would be a better deal than Olise but crystal palace are pain in the throat to dela with although Eze would fit more Liverpool, typically Mane kind of player, strong and create chances from nothing.

Yep, agreed - basically on both fronts. We should have sold Salah, we need to sell him this season, if we don't, we won't be able to match the signing on fee he'll receive from Arabia - so we'd lose him for nothing.
I still believe we can get close to 100 mil, for Saudis 10 is the same as 100. I'd actually force them to make a statement out of it, to show the world how rich they are. I'd start the negotiations at 300 million, saying 'make the biggest transfer the world has ever seen'.

Basically dare them into it, there's a decent chance that they'd actually think it is a smart marketing move.

Liverpool cannot afford to lose Trent, Salah, and VDJ in the same window; they must do everything possible to secure Trent on a long-term contract, persuade VDJ to sign a year extension, and release Salah in January, but none of this will happen if there is no transfer ambition. Liverpool has been extremely quiet, with no incomings and no Klopp, so it will be difficult.

Players at his age become greedy and would rather have the signing fees sent to his pocket than to the club; Liverpool should learn from the Mbappe deal; it is too risky to let someone like that run his contract for 12 months. He won't get anywhere near wages he was presented with last season if he decides to go, which is ample motivation to punish Liverpool by walking out for free next summer.

Regarding KDB - I felt this is a blessing in disguise for Pep - he would have got some real hate for forcing KDB out - and he looks ready to be forced out of that team.
I adore the guy, he's one of the best that we've seen in this league, but although statistically still brilliant last season, he did look a step too slow in a lot of situations.

Agreed and I hope we won't get to that. He either signs or gets sold - would be crazy to gamble on him wanting to stay after his contract runs out.
We can't be that stupid, right?

I can't believe Liverpool turned a potential €100m for Salah last season if only they knew he's time was literally off.
It was more than £100 million; Al-Ittihad offered that £100 million just to be paid upfront for him, like an advance.
I feel that offer will be on table every season. Salah is the biggest Muslim player and they will overpay to get him whenever they have the opportunity.
Al-Ittihad have gotten a younger and cheaper alternative, Moussa Diaby from Aston Villa, to fill that position for them, so they may no longer be interested unless they want another option in Salah, of which I am not sure.

Salah may still get an offer from Saudi Arabia—maybe not from Al-Ittihad again—but another club, and I do not think he will be as priced as he was last season. His value, even as the biggest Muslim player, has declined a bit.

Yeah but Salah is basing a lot of his success on physical predispositions and they will not get better. I am expecting only a decline from him as seasons progress. Feels like he is one big injury away from becoming mediocre. I would have taken 100M for him and used that money to strengthen the team even more.

But your point as biggest Muslim player stands and that will mean they can probably always get a lot of money for him.

Physically he's a monster - he'll probably maintain that level for the next 4-5 years.
Injuries should not be taken into equation, Mbappe is 1 ACL tear away from being worth half of his current value.

True, but his contract expires next summer, and his current market valuation is €50m. Liverpool would be extremely lucky to get anything close to that; it's a matter of cashing out on him now or risk losing him for free next year; he wasn't really a part of the team last season, and the few times he did play, he didn't spend much time on the pitch. Salah's biggest strength is pace, and he's getting old for all that running now. He's already 32 years old but a year contract extension won't be a bad idea, enough time to find replacement.

I would have sold him, that is huge money Liverpool can use to grow further, but then again - Salah was one of our better players last season again.

We have a lot of options on the left, not really any viable other than Salah on the right, and especially if Trent chooses to go - without Salah as well that right side would be changed from one of the better ones offensively to God knows what.

I guess Nkunku might have to play with avoiding contact a lot at least for the foreseeable future to prevent any other form of set back, should he stay fit though, I'm curious to see how Chelsea plan to integrate him into the team without having to alter how and the position Cole Palmer would occupy on the pitch.

He'll most likely play behind the main striker or in a deep role, but he's a versatile player who can play any attacking role. We still need a proven striker on the team, by the way, and we're looking into our alternatives right now.

Yeah, with KDB leaving and Haaland+s price increasing further, going for him might not be the smartest thing to do.
Alvarez played a great season, he will want his minutes too, if he gets KDB's role it will be a team that works differently and Haaland won't be the only focal point anymore.

Interesting dilemma, I'm almost certainly going without him. I know who I'm picking from City anyway.

People still believe Mailsport's news in 2024? All they do is trigger transfer rumours for clicks and create division in dressing rooms with fake news. Well, he's been struggling with injuries over the past two seasons and could really do well in the Camel league with less intense football and huge money for his kids and family. We saw the few times he was out and how Halaand suffered for it, and I don't see anyone coming in to fill that spot if the transfer happens.

KDB leaves MCI, Erling Haaland's goal tally will reduce unless another player fits into the shoes that KDB will leave behind.

but since that just one injury it became a problem to play for a month with having a reoccurrence or another similar problem.
Can surgery not be a permanent fix for those reoccurring issues?

Playing with avoiding contacts may not be possible for Nkunku knowing how physical the Premier League is.

KDB may finally be exiting the EPL for Saudi Arabia to join Al-Ittihad.

If Nkunku keeps fit, he'll do a lot of wonders this season as we are transiting from a running-based team to a possession-based team...
There was a lot of running in the Chelsea team last season, and it created a lot of opportunities for them, but their major problem was finishing and scoring goals from the opportunities that they created. As you are transitioning into a possession-based team, it is important that they also practice their finishing because possession without finishing will not yield any results different from what they achieved last season, and this is the truth.

Nkunku barely stays fit; he cannot play for two months, IMO.

Nkunku have not always been an injury prone player, they're are just some types of injuries that when a player have them staying fit for a longer period becomes a problem just like it was with Reece James and Ousmane Dembele too, these use to be players that get a lot of tackles and almost never got injured, but since that just one injury it became a problem to play for a month with having a reoccurrence or another similar problem.

Nkunku is a smart choice, yeah. He's in the first few drafts that I have assembled.

He will probably claim the starting spot, and Chelsea actually looked decent at the end of last season. Palmer will be overpriced so Nkunku sounds like a decent gamble.

If Nkunku keeps fit, he'll do a lot of wonders this season as we are transiting from a running-based team to a possession-based team, but but but....two French players who haven't kicked a ball in more than a year for us trying to ride on the Argentina shit to ruin the locker room. We all make mistakes, right?
Nkunku wasn’t really terrible last season, the much he played, he made some difference on the pitch altjogg$c it was much late in the season. He would need more playing time though, perhaps with a new management in place, he would get that. Hope he works on not having to hold the ball for an extended period of time, it was the little I wasn’t so impressed of him. He’s not a very valued Chelsea asset, N. Jackson and Palmer remains top on that list.

Wouldn’t want to comment on the issue with Enzo, FIFA and Argentina but, it wasn’t expected of them but hey, they are humans and even then, being in the game, the ought to know better.

Thanks again brother can't believe I bottled it all. Now can you edit the thread title back to FPL?

Woodie be ready to join the Bottler league in January.
Icopress haven’t been in doubt. Credibility check is at ATH.

Am glad you’re choosing your players already but, Woodie, really! Am tempted to see how it ended for him last season but, don’t want to go get my hands in the dirt.

I strongly don't think I have any plans for any other Chelsea player in my team (If I'd be having one) for the first month and half or thereabout, except for Cole Palmer, and I really would be going with differentials for the get of the season this time around, they are more of fortune asset than the premium with whom your only chance of getting the most out of the is if you're having them through the entire season, so maybe a little tweak between differential and mid would be my major play, especially for defenders.

I will gladly pass mate, I've already trusted Chelsea and Man United players one too many times, Chelsea roster is already deep enough and you can't trust anyone to keep their spot in the starting eleven.

If there is any other player I could be on the look out for, it will be Marc Cucurella, after a sensation Euro 2024 spell, I believe that he should get a huge chance in the team this season, and budget wise, he's not someone you can go wrong with.

Received mine as well. Thank you icopress, Trofo and BC.Game for organising, running and sponsoring this pool.
Also I apreciate everyone who congratulated the winners in previous posts. Thanks for the good vibes!
It was lots of fun playing Euro Fantasy, enjoyed the different rules to FPL, had to be more engaged with the games making sure to get the subs in and changing underperforming captains.
Although I've been playing FPL for a few seasons now, I've never been able to take it seriously throuought the whole season as always something would come up and I would miss making the deadline for a couple weeks or I wouldnt have enough time to do my research then I'd make quick ilogical transfers. But with the short Euros format, I managed to give it much more attention and therefor managed to get a good score.
I hope to have time to give FPL more attention and to not miss any deadlines this time around, so Trofo, watch out man, I will be knocking on your door!!
