OK another update. PnP will be out of action till end of next week. Company I found today did bump us for one day. But not in direction you think... I will be there at 6:00am Monday... We start day earlier...

BFL products have been designed by engineers who like to complicate things. Everything in their products is unnecessarily complicated.
I guess BFL hires people who are just smart enough to design but stupid enough not to see simpler solutions.

There is a reason people say "German Engineering". "French Engineering" does not have the same implied meaning.

Avalon is a different story. ngzhang was all for simplicity. This was evident in his Icarus boards and then Avalon.
I bet whatever else he designs will follow the same pattern.

Good point... 300+ components on BFL board vs. 200+ on Avalon(2/3 of them are same SMD capacitors)... 8 vs 10 chips and components are much cheaper simpler easier to cool and easier to install right...

I am making 100 Nano Furies in less than a month. We have been waiting for these things for what a month delayed now. WTF.

Yes today they setup PnP for Chili... I was waiting there since we would do a sample board for me to test before full production... Just in case so I can test it if there is anything wrong with program(some components not put on just right). Now I'm not sure if this has something to do with BFL logo, someone karma or I don't know what... PnP broke down... I will make some calls tomorrow(I did some today but non pick up, it was too late I guess) if someone else can take us. I will also hopefully know tomorrow how long this PnP is out of action...

If they arrive... I'm not sure they will... Aramex has setted that lost them... Now what I think happened is that they were confiscated by Air France and they need to pay a penalty for cheating that is higher then insurance to get it back... So they will not do that...

EDIT: and when they say they are lost they send them to a sender if they are found.

I do not know how everyone else feels about this since it is 3 months out right now... but I am going to at least get in line and set aside my funds now for this, in case MrTeal and ChipGeek do indeed take on this next challenge.

MrTeal... any idea what you would be doing if you did take this up? 2 chip, 4 chip 8 chip boards? Same 100 board commitment before you would go in for a batch run?

Update... Do not use Aramex or DPD express for shipping anything... They send package DPD express and it turns out that DPD uses Aramex for express shipping. It was seating in Paris till today and today they have no idea where it is... Tracking say it left Paris 2 days ago but that was not the case unless they lie to me that it is still in Paris... OK I was told some thing unofficially what was going on with my package... Unfortunately can't share since I was told that confidentially... But if that is true Aramex is not just a batch of amateurs but they are also cheating air companys. And they were cough with this package... Can't tell you more but biased on source I think it is what happened...
