It will be ready in time so don't worry... Tests are hours away and then making production boards if all is well... You will be ready to order probably by the end of the month or sooner...

Am interested in whatever hashes most and having least problems.  Beyond 8 chips seems taking too much power.  Even Coinado board being 4 chips is working OK for me if being available when chips arrive.

Good Point...

I would use about half my chips for the 4-chip boards IF it means getting them sooner.

Bigger would be more reliable then 2 small ones since it has less parts... 220W(estimated) is not a big problem...

Good job !

Will look closely at the further progress !

Always nice to have a new contributor to the btcoin mining hardware field, even if its named BFL...

Are those your sample chips from BFL?
Yes I got 6 samples and BFL give me 6 chips up front(so not really samples)... Idea is to get enough to make 8 and 16 chip board and testrun it to be sure it will not fail in a month...

Fantastic.

Keep up the great work!

A 16 chip board has got to be really HOT.  I have no formal education in this stuff, but given all the issues BFL seems to have, how wise is it to pack so many on a single board?
If it's true and it works that's great.  I mean it will be cheaper.  I ordered 24 chips so I'll get another 8 to get 2x16 out of it.  But I don't want the thing to melt in a week.
Mythbasters have a say "Failure is always a possibility."

Yes it can happen. But not a big chance... How many Singles did that? As far as I know none. And there is not a hi number of GPUs that did that and they are ruining even with higher power then that. And when you look at the numbers of GPUs out there it is clear that this is not something that happens all the time. So if that happens to you you might go and buy Lotto ticket or be afraid of lightning...

EDIT: It will not happen if the board is working normally... Something strange must happen...

Project Status:

This board doesn't work with rewB BFL chips so we agreed to licence Chili. There is no time to fix this one. The way to buy it is here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3463345

Tests complied 100 production boards ordered for early buyers... We are collecting samples to make one production board hashing with 16 chips. You will be able to order any day now

8 chips board COINADO It is going to be only one board that can handle 4 configurations. 4, 6, 12 and 16 chips
16 chips board COINTAMINATION

Having working test board with chips. Enough power for up to 5 chips. Ignore the BFGMiner-Errors, because hashing is difficult without chips and picture is from time we didn' have them. Production board will have PCI-e power plug...

Chips arrived on Friday so next week we will put them on a board and do some hashing... We also have Jala for tests and analyses(in case our board has any problem).

Will add some more pictures as soon as we have them...

First hash test:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZIc03dKLIs

Testing 16 chip "board". This is just to see if it works. It will be one board not two put together.

Changes since rev. 1.0 (COINADO):
- New name: COINTAMINATION
- New size: 189.23 x 144.78 mm
- 4-layer PCB for better power-distribution
- Up to 16 BFL-chips can be mounted in 4x4 clusters. (because of heatsink-balance it is not possible to mount a single chip in one cluster, but 2-4 chips per cluster works)
- Each cluster will have one heatsink and a dedicated fan-connector. (plus one main-fan-connector - we try with passive heatsinks and one central fan first)
- Multiple mounting holes for central fan (for 92 and 120 mm fan)
- Now four power-modules (each for every cluster, with independent adjustable voltages and a better sensing-system now)
- USB-Connector changed to "Mini-USB type B"
- two PCIe power-connectors (for up to 8 chips one of them is sufficient)
- Power- and USB-Connectors are now accessible from one side
- Firmware is still BFL-compatible. You can use their software or a tuned version from any open-source project. (There will be many sometime)

First 100 boards Smiley

Interested in joining GB https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bfl-chip-groupbuy-275chip-50-btcpaypalsepa-420-sold-0100-batch-4-238052
For now you can only buy chips...
Board can be bought with or without chips but price is not jet known but GB buyers will have discount. If this one works without problems it will be 200 to 300$ with current orders in GB if we will have more we might get it under 200$...

Production board:
Will have PCI-e power plug
8 and 16 chip version with probably have 1:1.5 price ratio and close to 1:2 size difference

Sample chips are welcome(PM me)

Rules when ordering:
Processing GB orders and buyers that will help have priority
Bigger orders discounts

Distribution chain and mounting chips:
You will be able to get board assembled and mounted in USA and EU...

Orders:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3463345

We will put you in a waiting queue for assembly when you pay. You will be notice if we are out of stock and get option to be refunded and look at different options. Don't just send chips before we let you know if we have the stock to process you. Some parts have longer lead time and we are ordering them as some as founds are available but we don't have large stock so plan ahead an order ASAP.

Warning:
Do not touch chips directly if you don't know what you are doing. You need to be grounded to do that...

Disclaimer:
Board is expected(but not guaranteed) to run at 60GH+ topping out at 70GH but this depends on chips. Chips are sold in mixed lots and are not marked, so it is the luck of the draw. We do not take any responsibility if chips when send to us are damaged. Some packaging that we seen from BFL is inadvertent to protect the chips(static and hydro protection). We also received some dead samples so BFL quality check are probably not adequate and there specifications of chips on page might not be right... We do not test chips more then just to see if they are short circuit. Warranty is limited to board itself not the chips. Each units will be tested prior to shipment and will not ship unless it is working. Should an issue arise due to a non-ASIC problem we can work with you to get it repaired. BFL's ASICs are a bit of an unknown however, and we can not guarantee their longevity or reliability. Board is currently being tested with new BFL chips and we didn't have enough samples to test with 16 chips. So be aware of thus risks to. Once we buy parts we can't refund you in full. This is raped development board that was tested just with samples.
Prices are subject to change.

End price:
The price will include parts, assembly, test. Your quoted shipping price will include antistatic packaging and shipping. We cannot calculate VAT/Tax/Duty for international customers.
