On http://bfl.ptz.ro/ al orders for jallys were updated at once, (for 2012/06/25 /24 /23) without any exception, so i think the moderator just marked them all as delivered for some reason,
Does not look like it was user input, because some users would have forgotten to update the status

how legit is this site?

Answer is : In the past.

If only that were possible. If I could have had an ASIC delivered to my younger self in 2009 I would have had millions of coins right now.  Grin

Ah yes the fish that got away, 20/20 hindsite.  I could have had a lot of money too if what I spent over Xmas I put into buying BTC ready for the $266 price peak. Didn't need an ASIC for that one, just a crystal ball.

You would have had about 11 million coins on an alternate fork and they would be worthless, since nobody else would care about "Bitcoin" as your would be the only one with the coins (ASIC vs CPU miners)

The subsidy of "free" coins is just that - a subsidy to set up the network.  Ultimately the success will depend on the utility of the coin.  I would rather have 1 coin worth $200 USD then 11 million coins worth a novelty idea.

1 guy has it delivered, unless he's some sort of employee.

That list is actually being update from time to time. I counted about 40 people delivered last time I looked, and of course a whole lot more that never knew about the list.

Now It's been updated. Checked a couple of days ago, and there were just two confirmed deliveried. Now there are quite a few more. Looks like they are consistent with BFL's shipping announcements.

Am I missing something simple about that site and how someone would confirm their order as shipped? Creating one seems easy enough.
Honestly I have no clue, ran into it on the forums today..

So it seems they are shipping only Jalapenos. Not singles and rigs. No updates from BFL_Josh. Sad

Absolutely none at the moment, they shipped around 35 from which most went to devs and media for reviews.

Most, but not all went to devs & media

Took around 11 months to arrive.

Absolutely none at the moment, they shipped around 35 from which most went to devs and media for reviews. Last update on the forum was on the 6th of May stating they should have ~100 chips on the 9th and make few units then and ship, no updates since then.

I requested a refund from them, no response, gone via paypal to retrieve my money so.

Seen a post in here nicely describing the shipping they promise and what the average wait time for the units will be.

at 40000+ orders and them promising 400 units a day that makes 100 days. That makes 3+ months wait time, the thing is it does not appear that they will be able to ship in such quantities for at least another 2-3 months. you'd be better buying bitcoins

So... BFL started "shipping" weeks ago... How is that we are not flooded by ecstatic posts of Jalapeño users receiving their machines?

Any word about how many units are their "shipping" per day?

Wow this is still going on...lol So guys when do you call a spade a spade? I'm glad i have my money in my pocket ;-)

will you still be 'lolling' when people are posting 'I have my asic' and you refunded and spent your cash on crap?

[EDIT] I decided to 'gamble' on a BFL asic - I still think it's a decent gamble and I should be able to gamble my own money if I want to - I can't stand all the posters complaining - you shouldn't have 'gambled' if you couldn't afford to lose the money. If you can't afford the 'gamble' - then request a refund - afaik - nobody has been refused a refund.

Sounds like justified crying to me, suck it up big boy like you said you did it to yourself. Possibly the mods could start a "Boo Hoo" thread and move this there.

I'm thinking that it seems like BFL have shipped a few units, even a (very)few units to end customers.

If/when they have their final design ready, I think they can ramp up production pretty fast. There have been talk about 400 units/day, but If they have wafer/board design ready, i think they can go into more of a mass-production scenario pretty fast.

With electronics, the hard and time-consuming part is the design and development. When that is done, production is pretty straight-foreward and it does not take a lot of skill to assemble the parts.

Edit: BTW - one thing that baffles me is why they are offering to exchange the FPGA's and why they just discontinued their FPGA's instead of doing ASIC-development parallel with FPGA production.
But then again - I'm new to the scene.
