There was talk about creating a hardcopy booklet for BiblePay on this forum. I forgot who exactly suggested it, but I've also have been in contact with Habib about creating one for Ghana, so I'd like to combine the two.

Maybe we could also hand them out in conjunction with a paper wallet. That would be a great 'getting started' thing I think Smiley

I've got a little budget in the last superblock. I'm going to use it to pay an illustrator to the visual content for the booklet. But I would also appreciate some input on that should definitely in the booklet concerning text content. If anyone has any suggestions, please PM me Smiley

Anyone looking for a portable installation of BiblePayCore.exe can use 7-Zip Portable in Windows to open the BiblePayEXE. Extract the contents to a folder of your choice. There, you have a portable version of BiblePay-Qt.exe

Hi,

China is a Atheist country, most of chinese don't have religious beliefs. China goverment has restrained the bitcoin. It lost the market. I think it's hard to attract them for your whitepapper.
As for the content, it's easy for native chinese to understand the theme. But virtual currencytual currency is new for me, so some terms is a little hard for me.

Hello
I read the whole whitepaper from start to end,and most of them is OK.
But some technical details look like translate via google, and there is some little typos need to be correct.

Cheers

Thanks Slovakia! Do you think one of them is perhaps willing to improve the translation (for payment).

Please see this gem that Linda from QIEX translated for us:

https://pool.biblepay.org/Docs/BiblePay_WhitePaper_Chinese.pdf

Please let us know if there are any fundamental errors, or if it is good the way it is.

Great work. I can't read Chinese, so I have no idea if the translation is correct. Is there any thought to paying someone to review the language for correct meaning?

a few nitpicks:

* Last page doesn't need to be there (it is blank)
* Chart in English for road map progress, can that English words be translated to Chinese as well? Adobe Acrobat can do it... or if there is a translation of the English text, I can make a PDF page with Chinese characters (I have licensed copy of Adobe Acrobat Pro which lets you edit PDF files)

Just an FYI for the community -

I was offline the last few days and was alerted that my explorer had stopped mid-day yesterday due to a biblepayd crash. After restarting it a few hours ago, the iquidus db was corrupted, so I'm doing a full re-index now. Sorry for inconvenience, it should be resolved soon - seems to be moving at a good clip.

I believe utxoamount= is not required anymore as of a month or so ago, so the latest versions will auto stake, the documentation on this may be out of sync

If anyone is interested, please help document things on the Wiki!

Ill try to update when I can, Im way behind

I've updated the wiki and I've contacted Lichtsucher to remove a redundant utxoamount line from his guide (which was correct btw, but might be confusing to newcomers).

Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords
so I bought some BBP on SouthExchange to stake more BBP to get a higher reward.

BBP is a side hobby for me and we support Compassion kids on our own, but I've gotta say there's no easy way to figure this stuff out for someone new.  Now granted I have two rigs with many GPUs running and I can mine about anything, but Biblepay has to make it cryptic.

For one, my RAC is 1607, the console knows that, so why doesn't the wallet show me how much BBP I need to stake to get 100% UXTO awards?

found this on another thread:  Stake 20 BBP per RAC and you will receive : (YOUR_RAC/TEAM_RAC) x SUPERBLOCK_REWARD x 0.7.

So why not add something to give a suggested stake level to the wallet...  it could be to the far right of the Available balance.

So I changed my utxoamount=36321 (was 5539)  in the biblepay.conf and exec stakebalance still shows:  5539.  I shut the wallet down and restarted so I'm guessing it takes time, but how much I can't seem to locate.

So if the utxoamount= still needs to be in the .conf file then why isn't the wallet smart enough to autostake the max amount available?  Or why can't it stake at 75% of available balance if someone doesn't want to stake it all?

ETA:  after 30 to 40 mins my stakebalance is now 36321.

You can type 'exec totalrac' to find out how much UTXO is required.
You can comment out 'utxoamount' and 'utxooverride' in the config.  When its not present, we automatically stake the "UTXO Target" amount (from exec totalrac) in the PODC Update.

WhatToMine is a popular cryptocurrency website we could list BiblePay on
https://whattomine.com/

In the Bitcointalk Forums, people point new miners to this website

===

Proof of Work is based on Hash Rate and Network Hash Rate (and Dark Gravity Wave?)

and

Proof of Distributed Computing is based on RAC and Total RAC, and RAC grows in a weird decay function way
(The ability to support more than one Science Research project complicates things)

=

So it looks like we could definitely easily set up a PoW Calculator with WhatToMine

===

Quote
Requesting coin addition. Coin must be on one of those exchanges:
Binance, Bitfinex, Bittrex, CryptoBridge, Cryptopia, HitBTC, Poloniex or YoBit.
https://whattomine.com/contacts/new

We have submitted payment to CryptoBridge and are waiting until after our next mandatory release to move forward with listing, so after that we would meet their requirement to get BiblePay added.

===

Also, we could nudge WhatToMine to add a CPU section, do you think they would add it?

How do they gather the data on how different hardware does on each algorithm?
Are users submitting that data?

UPDATE: I contacted them

Security is actually more reliant on the distinct CPID, not on copies of it.  I never said it was frowned on to run multiple wallets.

My point is if you want to run multiple heat mining wallets, you can set a simple switch.

What is frowned on is not understanding blockchain programming, and what I mean by that is the ignorance of proposing a bad solution that bloats the chain.

Remember, most of us are not developers (let alone blockchain developers). So, know in advance, we may make suggestions not fully knowing the intricacies or even the background knowledge of this blockchain fully works.

> My point is if you want to run multiple heat mining wallets, you can set a simple switch.

I wish there was a way to could keep our main wallet.dat on one machine only, but still be able to mine on mutiple computers. Having to copy wallet.dat to multiple machines is a security concern for me. Instead of securing one machine, I know how to worry about x number of computers that have the same wallet.dat

Doesn't the masternode have some sort of mechanism to secure/lock funds and not require you to have the wallet on the same computer as the masternode?

Not a problem, I am all for making the wallet smart enough to act more like an iPhone (IE improve our ease-of-use features).  And not against supporting the n+1 wallets intelligently.  The issue was how it was approached.  If a feature request is made in a very respectable way, it will receive all the credit and explanation.  If otoh, the user is
demanding, or rude, or assumptions are made (without simply asking others how something works first), a person comes across as a know it all, and disrespects the lead dev, etc, then things will go south quickly.

As far as not copying the wallet, you could dump the private key for the Rosetta pay to public key address, and import that key into the submachines.  Im not currently thinking of a graceful way to heat mine on the sub machines without doing that.  We get too much benefit from requiring the distinct CPID to be signed with magnitude than to change that feature.

Yeah Gary we need help documenting this, streamlining the information, the process,
Would you be down to help out on the Wiki? I will gladly pay you (or anyone!) for any work on that

I would add this as a feature request on Github Issues: https://github.com/biblepay/biblepay/issues

I'm not sure how much time it takes, but your PoDC Controller Wallet sends a PoDC Update every few hours or so, so it would depend on when its scheduled to send next, I think it can be run manually "exec podcupdate"

I don't know if it has been commented on (very busy thread, so hard to check), but I can see that the main pool seems to be getting only between 1 in 10 and 1 in 20 of the blocks now.  Is there a rival pool that we know about?  Otherwise, have we confirmed that it isn't a 51% attack?

purepool -- there's no signup required other than having a valid CPID in your wallet. The pool works like yimp where the payout is the wallet address you specify. I don't know how they verify CPID is valid, but I assume once the wallet is unlocked, there's a process to figure that out. As long as the receiving address a public address in the same wallet.dat I think pool mining works.

the details on what's mined is delayed by 24 hours... so pool.biblepay.org is better in that respect, but the steps required to sign up and mine on pool.biblepay.org is at best many more steps than purepool.  hopefully with the UI redesign on pool.biblepay.org, some aspects especially navigation and documentation will be improved.
