I don't know how deep bill gate knowledge about cryptocurrencies, but everyone has their own opinion about it, about the risks, I think every movement of people to get or earn a profit always has a risk, the main point is how to manage your capital, how to use it in a good management, cryptocurrencies also has a risk in it, but if u use it wisely I'm sure you will minimize the risk

I am not as smart as billgates but i do not think that cryptocurrency is bad since bitcoins is helping people to improve their daily life and achieve their dreams in the future since most of the people today are having a hard time to work on the corporate world.
Every thing is life has its pros and cons. If they say crypto currency is bad because it is used by criminal, money laundry and for drugs they are not wrong in saying that for some use it for that purpose . Fiat currencies are used by some people for the same bad things

This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard and filled with double speak and politics.
Claiming that crypto causes deaths in a direct way is the most insane thing I have ever heard.
A vast majority of drugs are not bought with crypto, it is bought with cash.
So if we believe that what he says is true, that means that anything used to buy drugs causes death in a direct way.
So cash is evil.

The vast majority of the world uses it for normal things and those who don't use it, only trade it.

Any kind of exploding, speculative markets have huge risks.

Bill Gates is a great businessman. But he used to talk about bitcoin only good reviews. I don't know why he changed his mind.
Bill is a prominent person but it does not mean that he cannot mistake. As far as I know he ignored linux and did not consider it as a perspective product but now almost all internet is working on linux commonly and of course an amazing thing, Bill ignored networks when they bear but rigth now nobody can imagine PC which is not connected to any network. Generally speaking it looks like Bill could not enter on this business in time so he is upset.

The risks of cryptocurrency are very large, you can earn a lot of money or you can lose everything. You can not risk the money that is very important to you!
Whether it is bad or not, i will still continue to invest as much as i can, because i see the value if my hardwork, being in altcoins for so many months i could say that i earn a living for investing and doing it, so ill keep going whatever happens

I think he said what many thought and understood about. Another thing, why he said about this right now, and not a year ago, when there was a wave of growth of the crypto currency? His words immediately caused the drop in the cost of bitcoins, the impression that they simply did not allow him to rise above a certain price bracket.
Seems like Bill Gates is a bit out of touch with the use case of most coins and tokens. In a way he's right that there's not much legitimate use at the moment besides hoping for price increase. But soon the tokens will begin to play a role in many people's life and we will see broad adoption.
That's right. We just need to go with the flow as the cryptocurrencies are still in its early stages that's why its value is fluctuating and cannot find its stable value yet. The truth is that most of the coins have no real value because the whitepaper is just attractive but the project itself is not implemented so it would end up in speculation for some time before it will have its real value if the project is already implemented with all of the plans applied by the developers. It is still early to conclude that cryptocurrency is bad just because it is full of speculation and the use case of the coins are not followed.
