Heya!

I'm a little confused on how this works... there's a charity I support that I'd like to get to accept bitcoin:

http://www.groupbstrepinternational.org/donate.html

Can I tell them if they accept bitcoin they'd immediately get 100 from this? Or only if people first approve them? Must they be somehow officially nominated first? Can I nominate them?

I know, so many questions! Smiley

Thanks!

Btw, LOL! How come no one suggested we try donating to this charity?
http://www.grandcharity.org/pages/donations.html

The irony if they are first to accept would be hilarious! Should I ask them?

Somebody donated 184.1995 BTC yesterday  Shocked
I would assume that that's not supposed to all go to one charity. Bruno? Any PMs about this?

Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending
Today's lucky number is 5. CIYAM Pty. Ltd., who just so happens to be #5 on the list in the OP, pledged no less than 5 BTC and has recently honored that pledge with 5 BTC. Thank you so kindly, Ian. The OP has been updated.

If anybody has any bitcents in their Instawallet account and dont' know what to do it with, my I suggest 1BTC1oo1J3MEt5SFj74ZBcF2Mk97Aah4ac as I've done? That is the official address for Bitcoin 100.

You might be referring to my 5 BTC donation (for which I sent a PM to Bruno about it at the time of sending).

If you donated that in the last 24 hours, yea, that'd be yours. I'll mark that on the accounting sheet.

That is correct. That was part of the house cleaning I was going to do when I got back online. I'm still in Ohio. I could make a fortune in this state.

Someone just dumped 5BTC into it today. Anyone wish to claim recognition?

Rassah, why don’t you guys solve this problem by posting two addresses, one for ongoing donors and one for anonymous donations. The extra could be from people that will never identify themselves because they don’t want it to be an ongoing thing but are happy to donate.

Problem is, some people donate but don't mean to be anonymous. They just speak up a bit later. In that case all I have to do is cut/paste the cell with all the transaction info next to the person's name. Also, some of the anonymous donations down below are actually, um, nonymous, but I just miss the announcement on the forum, and then after scavenging through posts, move it to it's appropriate place.

In short, easier for me to just have an Anonymous section below than deal with yet another wallet. Especially since sending donations will be from this same single wallet, anyway. (and I'll have to use Electrum to make sure all change goes back to the 1BTC1oo address)

Well, I guess you got it covered then.

The anonymous section works just as well. In fact, in time it'll could become a good marketing aspect. We'll see!

Pledging an additional 4BTC to BTC100 Smiley

Just 73,540 BTC to go and I'll have enough to build my MAGLEV  Grin

Hum, Bruno, maybe you want someone else to watch the wallet. LOL

Never fear, rhymes with Rover Ver.

About your MAGLEV, Rassah. It's no longer yours, but ours. We are family here, and we're helping you build it. Wouldn't it be funny if the first cargo to be transported via the MAGLEV was a load of coffee tables?

Actually, no. My sheet is (usually) more accurate than yours, because I reconcile every transaction to every claim of donation. So, as I deal with this, you can just keep track and update.

Actually, now that I think about it, I really should just give you edit access to the file, too. That way I can keep doing the accounting, but you can add to or update the list if needed. If that's OK, I'll just need your Gmail address.

Just use the one in my bio, then PM me when you send it. Thanks, Rassah.

I've just donated my remaining balance of .58584966 BTC on Instawallet to Bitcoin 100. Here is the donation address for those who may also have bitcents still on deposit there and want to contribute: 1BTC1oo1J3MEt5SFj74ZBcF2Mk97Aah4ac

The goal is to make Rassah earn his keep by now having to record, hopefully, a slew of transactions. Thank you kindly for considering this option.

A number of factors have come together for me to decide to shut down the site. The main reason though is that I currently do not have the time necessary to continue running the site and deal with issues properly. I have had people interested in buying the site in the past, so it might continue in a different form. (If you are interested in acquiring Instawallet feel free to get in touch with me.) I have not decided on that yet though.

For those considering on pursuing this option, at least add a name to the donations to make Rassah's task a tad easier.

~Bruno~

EDIT: Shit! I just realized that I, too, would have to work double time in having to record any donations to the list in the OP of this thread, coupled with adding any new names to the list on bitcoin100.org. Me and my bright ideas!

I noticed in blockexpolorer that some folks have donated to the pool as of late. I've no idea who. Kluge PM'd me with another pledge (less than 1 BITC), but going to PM Ben back to make sure it wasn't one of those deposits.

Sorry, that was me moving things. When I reconciled my accounting sheet, it didn't add up right, and going trough it I realized I added more from gsan's reserve than I was supposed to. The only unknown despoits are the 0.10BTC on Feb 18th...

... and someone just donated 2.50 today.

Just came here to let you know that that 2.50 BTC came from Kluge, info provided to my via a PM. He also has pledged coins (less than 1 BTC) of which I'm going to update the list now.

Hope all is well with Derek, with dealing with his lost and all.
