Bitcoin and altcoin have great connection each other where bitcoin raised up make altcoin raised up, but last week bitcoin have higher price but altcoin still in lower and down.
Perhaps the direct effect of altcoin on the development of bitcoin, which is a good step at the moment, is not very impactful, obviously not too. maybe because of the high number of altcoins that are growing and scams that affect. but for a good altcoin and growing together with bitcoin is pretty much.

Bitcoin is the reason altcoins exists. No Bitcoin, No Altcoins. From start, bitcoin brought the confidence that one can use a digital currency as a store of value, global transactions and so on. Those that'll will survive are those that have usability in the real world - real use case coins, and those that will drive mainstream adoption. One coin I love mainly for its use case is Tapcoin. I buy drinks and dinner sometimes with it, they have over 100k partners worldwide and are still going.
Most of the altcoins are down 90% from their peak valuations in 4th QTR 2017. Only a few cryptos have fared better and these include Ripple, Stellar and Ethereum. Others like Cardano and NEO have witnessed bloodbaths.
Unfortunately, this is the truth. Many altcoins will die in several years, man. I guess, that the main task for most of us now is to realize which of the cryptocurrencies will survive.

Ethereum with Smart Contract and its own Blockchain offers something different from Bitcoin, as well as the price problem. so when the price of Bitcoin crashes or rises, don't worry too much because there are still Altcoins whose prices remain stable.

I believe the market price of all coins is determined by process and developement of the product. Many people think ripple is not good coins cause its just like a traditional bank and kind of like that but as i see ripple is one of good project which have a real product and do have a real partnership and seems like ripple are started to be big by partnering with big bank such as Bank CIMB from malaysia. I believe market will start resume when we do have a clear regulations regarding ICO and also real use of the product from altcoins company. I also believe in year 2019 we will see so many use of blockchain technology in many aspects of businesses, we do already see a good example of company using blockchain technology in their businesses for example the wallmart that using blockchain technology for supply chains. do you think that the whole market can be resumed? or will most of the altcoins fail in these months? sorry for my english=)
