Yes, Bitcoin will be a central digital currency and it seems to be gold.
altcoins is depending on this BTC to calculate their values.
I'm sure BTC has been becoming a Global currency.
It has become I guess, the fact that we are all using bitcoin only as one currency to transact we already pass the criteria for calling bitcoin as our international currency, it will continue to be more popular in the future and we should be ready with it, do not just enjoy it as a currency but also learn the art of investing to avail on the benefits bitcoin can give into our life.

I believe big companies - businesses need to start adopting Bitcoin as a currency reserve alike so we can see a big jump in mcap and the start of Bitcoin viralization.

Your argument is absurd. Are you saying that the businesses must adopt Bitcoin, so that we (the Bitcoin users) could profit out of it? Why should they do that? Right now, most of the international trade is denominated in USD, and done using credit cards. The businesses are comfortable with this method, and they will consider BTC only if it offers a lot more advantages.

Maybe a massive adoption around the world is needed to make the bitcoin a world currency. An information campaign is also needed to convince people to accept the bitcoin as one of their alternative currency.

Bitcoin started out small but it has been growing ever since it is no longer confined to certain contries or areas it is going global. Soon bitcoin will be used all over the world.

Though it is already used all over the world and by people living in any country around the world, but for bitcoin to become global it should probably get legalized by the countries around the world so that it can be used anywhere like fiat, then we can call it a global currency.

I agree there are countries which they ban bitcoin for different reasons. Also there are countries which maintain a passive attitude "wait and see" and in their legislation is considered as an agreement between two parties and not as currency. So its not strange many people not use it because they believe it is illegal. Legalization and information are imo the main reasons to prevent the dominance of bitcoin globally.
The fact that there are countries taking such a move is a sign that Bitcoin has the potential to be a better option than fiat currency, and many people are starting to become aware of it. The result is being reflected in the market, with a growing demand for a limited quantity of Bitcoins in the market.
It is true that bitcoin has a great potential and it may be a good alternative for fiat in the future, but the fact the bitcoin is a cryptocurrency means that it is and always be connected to the internet so if there is no internet there is no bitcoin, which explains why many people still don’t believe in it.
I think that's not a problem for the future later on the Internet connection is not a problem anymore, in the future of the Internet is already reaching all regions around the world, so do not worry about the internet.
bitcoin will continue to spread, lets see

Internet will always be a problem

Sometimes, it is even problematic to transact with fiat, especially when a local branch of some bank can't connect to their main office, though they seemingly don't use Internet for wire transfers. Payments may get suspended for a few days in such cases. That's why reliable means should be implemented that would increase Bitcoin robustness in the case Internet gets fragmented for some reason, intentional or due to natural causes. Without this, Bitcoin is destined to remain mostly for speculations and not for real trade at a world scale

Yes its coming closer and closer to this what is good and I think that it has a great future and also will be more used globally everyday so that is a good sign and you can also see the price increasing.
the price rise will not happen every day definitely a time the price will come down. but the development of bitcoin will keep going forward and will be more people who will adopt bitcoin, users will increase in many parts of the world, and certainly bitcoin will become a global currency, I'm believe it
yes there is no doubt about this that people are now taking interest in bitcoin and they are investing their fiat also in bitcoin for making more money. the users of bitcoin are already present in all over the world, but the number of its users are still low, that is needed to be extend, and hopefully that its number will increase with the passage of time.

Too many crimes have already been committed by using bitcoins, as its ideal for shady dealings due to anonymity.

Dollars is the world most liquid anonymous market for crime, it beats bitcoin easily as many transactions can be done for notes only with barely any trace possible.   The numbers on a federal reserve note dont compare to the public and central ledger for bitcoin, I think bitcoin is preferable in tracing transactions though neither is exactly known.

This is really not whats holding it back, some slight perception issue but really its always about profits and security

It will become a global currency because from different part of the world people are using it, but we cannot expect we can attract a bigger population to adopt bitcoin, we are 1% now of total population in the world but I doubt we can reach 10%.

Back from the Dead!
December 22, 2016, 09:08:42 AM
Bitcoin is quite often seen as an outsider in the world of finance, simply because it’s not issued nor controlled by a bank or government. For many days since its arrival, many years, rather, it had gone mainly unnoticed. It was simply because of the following three things :-

  • Banks and government dont get any interest as bitcoin is decentralised, they get any profits from it
  • The politics sector doesnt own bitcoin/control it in any way, if by the people, for the people, and of the people, LITERALLY!
  • Too many crimes have already been committed by using bitcoins, as its ideal for shady dealings due to anonymity.

It wasnt before the later half of 2016 when the prices started rising very high that people came to know about bitcoin, but its still not really that popular, and in many countries, its even banned due to the above listed reasons.

However the number of bitcoin users has seen a huge hike since the last halving in July, 2016, and its becoming more and more popular. But, still there is a long way to go for bitcoin in the race of becoming a global currency Smiley

Since the massive growth that bitcoin has seen over the past couple of years it became very popular among the internet users especially for those who are looking for an extra income, it is indeed used by many people so it is considered a global currency but it is unfortunate that governments do not see so.

You see because of the nature of bitcoin and how decentralized it is it became something they cannot control that is why they refuse to make it as an official global currency.

I also think that it has grown a lot and that it has a great future but we can simply not become a global currency that is just not possible without any doubts.

It is already grown a lot and it keeps on growing each day that is passing by. It can be a global currency even there is no law with it as long as all of us are agreeing that we need to keep on using bitcoin then for sure we are going to have a lot transactions with bitcoin. Then that is going to make it as a global currency.

Bitcoin is global currency and I think its the only way in which bitcoin can survive, to be international. If we tie bitcoin for any country that can be the end of this freedom we have now. Do you think that bitcoin can work just in one country? What will happen with bitcoins in that case? As I see here there is people from every country in the world, that is international.
Yes for many of us bitcoin means extra income, but through that we learn about alternatives, world economy, some people find bitcoin very helpful in sending and saving money.
Bitcoin is our currency, there's no government that regulates it, we have to support it to continue to grow and a massive adoption would always help. I see some businesses are already accepting bitcoin but I am not satisfied yet, we can grow more.

You are not satisfied because the fact that many stores and merchants are not still accepting bitcoin and government is not even agreeing that bitcoin is going to be used globally. Don't worry about that as long as the market is keep on going, we don't have to think about it too much, let's just keep on supporting bitcoin and the adoption soon will be massive.
Let us nor hope for mass adoption over night. Bitcoin could not handle it. We need a better infrastructure and that takes time. If tomorrow the whole world would start using it we would have a problem as the transactions per second are to low. The fees would explode and the price also. This would make Bitcoin unattractive and people would look for alternatives. That would end just in a big bubble.
You have a point, We don't need that massive 'instant' adoption for bitcoin because it will make things worse or ending up in a worst scenario for bitcoin because that 'massive adoption' needs a great foundation and if bitcoin is not prepared for that massive adoption then it will make the transactions very slow and it will result for people to abandon bitcoin since it has a very slow transaction and bitcoin will become useless because of the heavy traffic. You're right it takes time for young bitcoin to be ready for that massive adoption, It is better for bitcoin to have piece by piece adoption rather than instant massive adoption Roll Eyes.
