I will rather choose Bitcoin for my savings than Litecoin although litecoin is a great token, more so both differ from each other.
Judging from the amount of volume and total increase in bitcoin prices, clearly the best bitcoin this year. but if for the long term there could be another better coin than bitcoin.
Both coins are profitable coin to hold not withstanding there potential values, bitcoin is the leading coin and the society have recognized bitcoin for transactions, litecoin is a new generation coin grow in value which is gradually be recognized.

Sure, I would stay away from Litecoin and go for Bitcoin and ETH instead. If you want to stay safe, Bitcoin is the best option.
