Haha 😅
I don't think Bitcoin should be compared with alt coins. Bitcoin is the OG of the crypto space so if there be any important comparison I think it should be between alt coins only.
Altcoins are mainly suitable for trading not hodling.trading with altcoins also require experience and skills to avoid losses
Of course bitcoin is never compared to altcoin. Altcoin is a kind of sheet coin which has no guaranteed future but Bitcoin has a guaranteed future and Bitcoin will be the first crypto coin which is known to everyone on the other hand there are thousands of Altcoins in the market and Bitcoin alone is not an alternative. So anyone who wants to compare bitcoin with altcoin I would say he doesn't have a good idea about cryptocurrency and he doesn't know about bitcoin well about the history of bitcoin. That's why he made such a comment

Altcoins should not be compared to Bitcoin in any way. Because only Bitcoin is the best for holding. If you are looking for long term profit then you should definitely hold bitcoin. And if you think to trade for a short time then you can take altcoins. However, trading with altcoins is more likely to result in losses. You must acquire a lot of experience and skills to trade with Altcoins.
Altcoins can never be compared with Bitcoin. Because Bitcoin is very popular coin. If you hold Bitcoin for a long time, you can get huge profit from Bitcoin. But if you want to invest or trade Altcoins, you have to take a lot of risk. I think Altcoins  It is much better to invest bitcoins and keep them than to make money at risk.

Secondly, Bitcoin is not in anywhere in comparison to altcoin because of Bitcoin's dominant market, and for sure, Bitcoin is going to continue to rule the market much more further than it has done before.
I agree, the Bitcoin dominance is high and while many thinks that there have been a lot of better performers and gainers than Bitcoin. In what sense? Did you able to ride that hype and gain for you to say, in papers, it's true. But what matters is what you actually gained for your own holdings and that's what you need to settle for. In the few years time, many of these best gainers and performers from this era might just be a no brainer and forgotten project just as the early altcoins that have been known in some point of time.

No one denies the dominance of bitcoin in the market and no one says that bitcoin is not the best and safest currency on the market. But if we participate in this market and our main goal is to make the most profit, not to learn about technology, then altcoins should not be ignored.
I think we are past with that time already about learning or not learning about the technology. Most of the people that are diving on this and altcoins market are the same, everybody is for the profit regardless of what coin they want to have. While our main goal is to maximize our potential profits on this market, one thing that we have to remember is to be patient at all times. I've learned that lesson the hard and expensive way.

We need to accept the fact that today altcoins are giving better returns than bitcoin. And obviously high profits will come with high risks, so if someone likes safety, bitcoin is the choice. But if someone likes to take risks to earn bigger rewards then altcoins should not be overlooked.
That's true that many alts are giving better returns but they're unstable. It is going to be one point of time that they're profitable but it won't be repeated. If it's repeated, this only happens for some of the altcoins out there and they're like ETH. Choosing bitcoin is having two things, having high potential profit but it comes with risk and the amount of it depends on you if it's going to be that much or not based on how you take it.

But typically, choosing bitcoin as your choice is always the best thing that you can ever have. It's not going give you any regret unless you sell at the wrong time.

The main point is that bitcoin is low risk HODL coin, compared to those altcoins which are high risk high reward. Me personally, I hold mostly btc, but sometimes I like to gamble with altcoins, that I like Smiley.

For me, there shouldn't be a clashing or a problem that involves choosing which one should be more favored because I do believe that anyone can utilize them both. Bitcoin can be a go-to investment if you want a steady but surefire profit investment, the only thing that you need to consistently do is to be patient and accumulate as you're hodling bitcoin, that's going to make you get more profit as time goes on since you're increasing what you're hodling. Altcoins are a really good alternative for if you've already taken a profit in bitcoin and you want to do some little diversification, you can use altcoin to do just that but the problem is that there's about 99% shitcoins out there that's going to promise you profit but will do a rugpull when there's a lot of gullible people that have invested in their shitcoin so it's not for beginners in crypto because you're going to need an extensive research about all the altcoins that you're considering to invest your bitcoin profit in it.

I think bitcoin is the best safe investment because bitcoin is called the father of cryptocurrency
No one has called bitcoin that before, what are you talking about? It's actually weird to say it or even think that bitcoin's a father.

Altcoin is defined as any cryptocurrency other than bitcoin.Example of altcoins are Litecoin, binance coin, dogecoin, ethereum etc.Altcoin cannot be compared to bitcoin because bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency in the world and the first altcoin was Litecoin forked from Bitcoin in 2011.We can get more detailed information from this link below
https://www.investopedia.com/terms/a/altcoin.asp
Furthermore, the majority of altcoins are performing rather well; their only drawback is that, as we all know, they are dependent on bitcoin, so any negative developments for bitcoin will also have an impact on the other altcoins. Additionally, the coins you named are performing well for themselves in the market and have even somewhat taken over the market. In particular. Furthermore, I have no doubt that some people are profiting from altcoins. And my opinion majority of people that invest in altcoins is because of the money not everyone can afford bitcoin. So and that is why they have give other altcoins but it is still better to do your research.

I know many people have invested in BTC hodling for the price to increase higher before they can sell to take profits from their investment, and whenever the price of BTC is increasing in the market other cryptocurrencies price will be increasing too which is the reason why I still prefer BTC investment than altcoins.

But is not good to make one coin your investment, you can invest huge amount of money on BTC and invest little in altcoins in case anything happen that will affect the price of BTC so that you will have hope that you will achieve something from your altcoin .
Bitcoin acts as a catalyst for altcoins, and individuals are massively investing in crypto in both altcoins and bitcoin. individuals who cannot afford bitcoin will go for altcoins. And holding is for profit, and people are willing to hold any loan for the sake of profit. And there will be instances when bitcoin will rise while other altcoins will fall, and this is due to personal preference, as well as individuals looking at the quality and amount of profit it will generate. However, some people may not perform adequate research before investing their money.

Everyone wants to invest in bitcoin, but money can be an issue. And because everyone has a budget, the best thing you can do is make a sound financial decision for yourself.

Exactly, some altcoins offer greater returns than bitcoin, however, I feel that people will choose altcoins especially new altcoins as investments but not in large amounts, because it is very risky. On the other hand, bitcoin, which until now we call the king of crypto, has a better offer than altcoins if invested in large amounts with less risk. However, bitcoin and altcoins have their respective advantages and disadvantages, however, bitcoin plays an important role in the price movements of altcoins.

Cryptocurrency trading takes place 24 hours a day. We can gain more profits from our digital asset portfolio by choosing investments anywhere and most importantly, our net profit in the end. Despite the fact that there are new coins listed on exchanges and they seem to have potential, I think it is safer to stay in BTC because besides being able to accumulate when it goes down, long-term holding will give us good profits. .

Even if we trade, we are always required to be patient, waiting for setbacks or corrections will always be a good decision so that our trading is safer and for the difference in profits generated, the only difference is who is the first to make a purchase in a new coin and is the winner.

Probably several altcoin (including some new altcoins) will offer better returns than bitcoin, that's for sure, and the reason is that they have a way lower marketcap compared to bitcoin. Bitcoin, in my opinion, could eventually do a 3x, maybe a 4x, more than that is difficult for the current cycle. I buying and investing in some game coins, will see how it goes.

I am surprised that this thread is still in this section, it talks more of the gain of the altcoins although Bitcoin was mentioned and compared on how these alts move. Talking about the era of Bitcoin but this means that it's not a full discussion related to the whole thing of Bitcoin but more of the altcoins that have been mentioned and that's why it fits to the Altcoin Discussions.

Really?
I don't think, in the next 10 years from now, altcoin can compared To Bitcoin in any sense and for that, we have to conclude that the fact that, the cryptocurrency market is vol volatile for that, anything can happen as far as coins are concerned, so we shouldn't take that to mean that Bitcoin is losing it or is not making any controlled changed on the market at whatever time.

As we look forward to the anticipated bullrun come 2024, what altcoins are you holding and why do you think they will bring more returns compared to others?

I think bitcoin is the best safe investment because bitcoin is called the father of cryptocurrency, that's why many investors invest in bitcoin to stay ricks free because they know that the possibility of scamming bitcoin is very low.

And alt coin gives much more profit than bitcoin in a short period of time, many investors invest in alt coin and lose all their property because there are many fake alt coin available in the market, if their investment falls, they lose all their property like alt coin gives profit.  Again, losses can also be made, so if someone invests in alt coins, they should invest very carefully

Scrypt algo merged mined LTC/Doge

and a hand full of other pow coins.

LAst I look there were 9000+ coins on coinmarketcap.

we are down to 8831

https://coinmarketcap.com/?page=89

over 8600 are garbage
Now after more than 2 months, we are again at almost 9000 Shit tokens.
and you are right only 200 or something can be considered good and worth looking. almost all of the rest are garbage shit tokens. i checked some last pages of CMC. and noticed that some of them are actually garbages LOL.
they don't have any value, and marketcap. and a lot of them are untracked listing. coinmarketcap just listed their names. but their is no other details of them.

You are right Altcoins cannot be campared with bitcoin. they have their own uses and importance. but this is also true that all of them are cryptocurrencies too.. leave all the shit tokens aside. rest of the good altcoins have their own importance and uses which play their parts in blockchain ecosystem.

Coming from someone who choose Bitcoin over banks, I still stand my ground entrusting all I have on Bitcoin, all my fiat are exchanged to Bitcoin already and I use other means to survive, whatever I earned from my business goes for responsibilities at home.

Bitcoin is still stronger than altcoin, and don't forget that if anything negative happen to Bitcoin it will drag all Altcoins along with it, this shows that Bitcoin is the real OG, but that doesn't mean that some altcoins aren't so good, you can never go wrong with the following altcoins like....

1. SEI  2. SUI  3. Celestia. 4. Aptos  5. Metis

While some will complain that these alts have high market cap, they fail to see that they are capable of worthing more than a billion market cap, I have seen this happened, in solana and polygon, profit wise, don't underestimate Layer 1 and 2 in crypto space.

Still, make sure you focus more on Bitcoin and have some percentage on Altcoins with good fundamental and utilities.

I advocate building your portfolio this way. There is no denying that bitcoin is the safest and most trusted coin on the market, but that doesn't mean we should be stubborn and think that all altcoins are trash and not worth investing in. Investing in altcoins during the bear season is really too risky, but once the bull season appears we should pay attention to altcoins because it will bring us better profits.
But as you said, we should focus mainly on bitcoin to ensure safety and should only spend a part on altcoins to look for bigger opportunities. Don't let your portfolio be filled with altcoins without bitcoin, but also don't waste the opportunity by focusing 100% on bitcoin and ignoring altcoins.

some investors split their investments to profit from the potential upside of altcoins. but I prefer to focus more on Bitcoin and altcoins for short-term trading or investment.
maybe some prefer altcoins for some particular reason. but in terms of growth Bitcoin will be the best investment choice.
if bitcoin will increase then it's impact can going with altcoins market it's simple, if you remembered since 2021 when btc price was all-time high 68,000$,
altcoins market was boom and i made good profit in altcoins, bitcoin is worthy comparing with altcoins,
it is always best investment for future, some altcoins have bright future but it's high volatile and can be scam in any time that is my concern in altcoins investment.
