Comparing this two is like comparing apple and orange make no sense.
Both are extraordinary speculations and are inspiring the crypto world at the present time. Bitcoin's year was a year ago and 2018 is the time of altcoins so perhaps Ethereum will be of much change this year. It has effectively expanded to roughly $900 and that is an enormous jump. Ideally it will continue developing and hit $1000.
I agree with you, but seems like better days are yet to come, and not only ETH but NEO and EOS will be also in trend in the future.

For today, there is a situation when one interrupts the other due to demand. in the beginning of December there was a demand for bitcoin and the etherium sank very well, then when the ICO began to bring huge profits and the people realized this the airplane flew up sharply. now there was a global correction and the airwaves returned to the prices of November 2017. If the public finally realizes that the market has turned around and the green channel has been formed, the air will again rise in price relative to bitcoin due to investments in ICO
Comparing BTC with ETH will be a hard task. Both of them are very promising coins but they are from different era and do their jobs in their sectors. It is sure that, both of them will make us reach our goal.
Nowadays BTC is much more stronger than ethereum, but I hope eth will rebounce to previous levels and we will see steady growth. All what we need to do is just being patient.
I'm betting on bitcoin. It is generally recognized digital gold and it holds all the capital. Changes can occur only if large capital will bet on another coin.

I REALLY like Ethereum's utility. It's clearly a better technology than BTC. However, I'm old enough to remember betamax video cassettes. Apparently they were better than VHS, but VHS caught on and became the industry standard, while betamax kinda died in the dark.

bitcoin and ethereum are good investments for the long term. bitcoin is the core of all cryptocurrency. you can see. when bitcoin prices go down, all altcoin prices will go down. whereas ethereum is more widely used because the ethereum platform is used by everyone.
Both cryptocurrency has their different features like I want to more focus on Ethereum blockchain. as well know Ethereum blockchain give us freedom to create own cryptocurrency using smart contracts ERC-20 tokens. while on the other hand bitcoin does not give any freedom because technology used in bitcoin is no supported tokens system.
I believe that it is most appropriate to distribute your investments between these two coins. And BTC and ETH are quite reliable in comparison with other crypto-currencies.
I think that ethereum will be bigger then bitcoin one day but i do not know when because bitcoin is getting higher by the day and now it has even reached over its top maybe bitcoin will stay number one forever. Because I like to join ICO which mostly use ETH. ETH help me make profits . I love ETH
