is there a pool without Trofo, doubt
Yes there is, and not just one, two pools as far as I know. There is F1 pool I skipped aince I don't follow motor sports and there was/is some cricket pool managed by royse.

No football pools I am not a part of though.

Peer pressure. But don't worry yeah, I have a feeling we'll make next season good, am in contact with icopress, Trofo, others all in the background making stuff happen together. We're going to have a fun time!

will be a good fun this season, should be interesting in CL as well, somehow looking at teams, there could be more than a few teams that can reach final stage, and play better football than Real while reaching finals

Bayern said that Ronaldo is not suitable in their play, Lewa out, could they finally make something this season, more than QF, SF, where they are almost secure prior to start

leea-1334 Trust me, if there were a week left to play and I didn't see your ass in there, I'd be messaging you.

I like peer pressure on this forum,,, there have been times I did not know about promos/stuff but see it in a PM from someone like you and I am happy to "know" about it.

These days,,, so many things going on it can be so hard to keep track. What a nice complaint to be making however!!

Looking forward to the time, hope it is not while we are all busy with normal league Smiley

I resent that you did not include me in that list, even if I did not already said I am in, and I did, I would expect that you know that I am playing in every available pool, every season Smiley

Buwaytress I did not see my name mentioned here, and I know you dragged me into the pools last season so why did you not pull me this time  Grin

You and Trofo are like the guys I see all the time in the pools, especially Trofo of course because I am trying to follow Italian League the most and he manages that pool plus the weekly predictions. I saw all of the discussions in EPL thread about CL this season,,, so let us hope to see everyone come strong.

But first, I have to gather BTC to play!!

Trofo man, saying that you'll participate is like saying the Pope is Catholic. Consider it the highest honour from me I don't even need to think of asking you to join heh heh.

Funny as it may sound, I think I prefer the UCL pool to perhaps La Liga and If not Serie A, over the course of the season sometimes it's get either boring and/or exhausting for a few rounds regardless of my position on the table, probably due being almost a weekly thing mixed with couple of other commitments, but the I find the UCL lest stressful since almost all games are played at the same time in two days and it's done and over with until another fortnight.
It is not funny at all, Champions League is actually my favorite competition and only Premier League can rival it. I believe we had lower participants because we started the pool late last two seasons and it was not clear if it was pay to enter.

That's good to hear from you! So that's CLS63, casperBGD, cryptofrka, me, slaman29 in order of last responses mean at least 5, pretty sure we can convince every past participant to join, if we get at least the La Liga Serie A pool people in, it's good as gold.

I'll rummage around myself too and see if we can scrape something, will update if so.

The UEFA Nations League is going on really boringly now. I hope that UEFA decide to reconsider this organization again in the coming years. I think that there is going to be a bigger interest in the Champions League pool this year. I didn't participate in it last year but I'm going to do it this time. It is a sad truth that it is even more difficult to climb the positions in the standings after the group stage.

More games, more money, we're never going back, my friend. And I feel like a lot of people watch games even when quality's shit esp on internationals so I guess there's very little to argue commercially.

do not follow daily, but did not saw a drop below $10k for BTC?  Grin Grin
nevermind, there was little interest in CL previous season, not sure why, but I don't think that it is going to change this season

maybe it is due to competition that is group based, and then there is not much games, and basically after group stage, you cannot change much, so not that interesting as EPL, or La Liga and Calcio (those having few participants as well)

Was a terrible attempt at a joke, I'm doing my best to be cheerful, and in 2018/19, I always 'pretended' BTC was below 5k, and then of course my heart sank for a time in March 2020 when it actually fell through $4k heh.

So now my psychological mind's putting BTC at $10k. You know, false comfort.

I suppose UCL is different format but funny thing is we actually had 15 participants for Nations League, which is also group stage, and a lot more boring (sorry UEFA).

I'll rummage around myself too and see if we can scrape something, will update if so.

So for EPL, seems like entry fee is suggested around 2-3 mbtc (which is about $18-27 right now haha)

I'm actually quite surprised to see that there is no real interest for the CL.
It is the most important competition in club football and I expected it to have the same number of participants as PL for example.

I'm interested in playing OFC, it would be great to have it sponsored though. That would probably attract a lot more players.

I'll commit to a small share of the prize pot if hilariousandco can confirm we'll get anything, otherwise I also don't mind managing what should be a small pool. I know there are plenty of others willing and able to, but I actually really do like this contest and feel like it should deserve more attention Wink

Liverpool 8/1 to win it last season, so outright was absolute must for me but just over 3/1 this season (what the hell haha), so little value, better to bet on them to win a string of games in group.

Loads of news coming out about the UCL final in Paris, what a fiasco, they should just punish France and never let them host another final.

Anyway though I'm also reading that the next season is going to be the last in the current format.

I don't think we can blame everything on France, though they did seem to handle it badly there are likely a lot of factors involved here. Everyone is telling a different story and I'm sure there's truth in bits of many of them but many sources also have their biases. From what I understand is fans - could have been Liverpool, Madrid or even neutrals - were storming the stadium, many climbing over the fences to get in without tickets. It seems that some fans had probably bought fake tickets from scammers as well, so that probably added a whole other issue with very annoyed fans having paid exorbitant amounts to touts for fake tickets having to be turned away from the ground and I'm sure they were reluctant to leave as I would be. There are lots of videos of many people storming the grounds trying to get in but it's not clear exactly what sort of fans they were though. In some of the videos I've watched about it it's claimed a lot of people storming the grounds were actually African immigrants which could be true, though there are obviously biases on both sides. The racists and anti-immigrant mouthpieces will jump on that but on the flip-side the cowardly mainstream media often ignore the facts and the politicians try to downplay the situation and blame others. It seems the police were very heavy handed but in these sorts of situations the police politely asking them to refrain or disperse usually doesn't cut it so further measures are needed. With that being said, this sort sort of stuff happens whenever pissed up football fans go aboard (and it applies to all clubs and nationalities) and lets not forget ticketless Man United fans stormed their own ground a season or two ago which also caused a delay in the fixture. I'm sure there will be a full investigation but regardless of the outcome hopefully everyone can learn from it and further measures are put in place to stop things like this from happening in the future.

For sure it's not all of France's blame, but they did handle it badly and the quotes I read were what I would say was almost racist. It's always wrong to blame the fans (even if it's their fault I guess) but in this case in the pictures I saw that older men and young children were crying and well, even if I only saw 1 picture it was bad, this was many pictures and many accounts.

I also saw leea posted in SB thread about some video posted by locals sneaking into the stadium for fun and laughing at the fans stuck outside, if it's the same video I saw, the video clearly shows the guy doing it, going under turnstile and laughing and police don't do anything, they just focus on the red shirts.

So I think the people you mentioned could be the same as this African immigrant guy (who speaks French) and he is also seen in other videos where he says he is in Syria, firing of AK47s and laughing.

So French, not clear which side supports, but just there to do trouble and they were being let in.

I always say when something goes wrong, it's not one person's fault. But the Paris people wanted to host the final, they didn't prepare enough, and you pay for the rights and the responsibility.

Anyway yes, terrible terrible, they should have let us Barca fans host it so we could boo Real the whole game lol.

Yeah, today their minister blamed Klopp for inviting fans to Paris - it is becoming laughable.
~snip

there is obviously not that friendly relationship between Brits and French, and that probably caused their police to react stronger, but I think that they did not want to cause delay, it is more that things get out of control
from those that were on a stadium from Liverpool fans, they say it is an organization side, and from their point of view it certainly is, but from my experience being at football matches, you cannot get whole picture when you just wait in front of stadium, not knowing what is happening few meters on each side

Yeah, today their minister blamed Klopp for inviting fans to Paris - it is becoming laughable.

There will be an investigation into the organization of the event and I'm really curious to see what will they find.

From what I saw and heard from people I trust - the police did a horrible job. Both before and especially after the game.
That is just ridiculous. So what now, manager should not invite fans to come and cheer their club? I think everybody with half of a working brain just knows this is a blunder on organization side. There is only a choice between UEFA and Paris police for me. Probably more on the police side, but UEFA did not help as well.

New season in 2023 is going to be supposed to resemble tennis, where you get seeded and ranked, and high seeds only start playing later, and no country protection in the leagues. Not sure I like it since I don't really understand it yet but seems like a weird way to change the system. More games for some smaller teams I guess.

I find your lack of faith in Bitcoin disturbing.
Interested in Nations League and the Italian, English, Spanish leagues next season?

You would have said the famous "Ligue des talents" aka the French Ligue 1, I would have had a look Smiley. I like football, I watch football, but not enough to really be involved in other leagues.
I guess there will be something for the world cup, I'll probably join.

And I also confirm that I have received the prize. Thank you again.
