I think Liverpool would be happy with a draw away from home if that means they are fresh for City. Too risky to place the bet on odds of just @1.4.

do not like neighbors much, but they are obviously playing without City on the weekend in their mind, trash every opponent in the row
and there is no "rivalry" between Salah and Mane, due to two time over in national squads, first African, now World cup, they have really homogenous squad

seems as two goals more in Benfica net in second half are far from impossible

There are games tonight guys make your picks.

I am trying to make a ticket and I can't find anything of value in these two games. They can end with almost any result from 0:0 to 2:2, especially since we have City-LFC derby on the weekend. I think Liverpool would be happy with a draw away from home if that means they are fresh for City. Too risky to place the bet on odds of just @1.4.

Atletico Madrid is capable of frustrating City for sure so we could have anything here as well. I think I am going to just watch tonight and place my bets on other sports.
I actually surprised to see such low odds for City win . Ok, maybe Atletico don't play their best football, but I think they're understimated way too much.
Benfica - Liverpool is tricky game. Liverpool is favorites even playing away, but Benfica this season already nade one big upset.

City-Chelsea semi? I'm going for Real.

+1
Chelsea is in difficult position at the moment, and I think that they will have hard time to kick-out Real, low chances IMO
City vs Atletico is probably the most difficult opponent for a favorite, since Atletico knows how to play draws, or at least they knew it (this season they seem to lost their lock for the goal)

Liverpool and Bayern are already in SF

Wow I'm so late to the party, totally forgot the draws happened last night (Wolves-Leeds was so engrossingly long, over 2 hours on the telly) and then this morning started seeing the posts.

Liverpool-Benfica we probably got the weakest team left but I actually would have much preferred to meet one of the stronger ones earlier, perhaps even Real rightaway but in any case, we should expect then to avoid all the boring English meetups (I don't mind but I prefer seeing non-English teams, more exciting when the games aren't among teams from the same league right?).

It's okay too though as we then meet Bayern, who'll want to prove they are rightly the favourites to win.

City-Chelsea semi? I'm going for Real.

When you hear a whisper in your ear as you place your bets, saying: "Juventus is done with their journey in this competition", but you get swayed by "value" odds, don't.

I may very well have also Atletico to blame tonight since there is still a leg left, but Old Lady just has to accept, they really are just the imposters in Europe.

And yes slaman, I not only got Ajax wrong, also Juventus. Arguably the 2 weakest teams on paper have progressed. Well done to them. QF draws tomorrow. England and Spain dominating.

what happened to Juventus last night?
Villareal had three shots on target, two from penalty spots, and that was it, did not watch the match, but it was a surprise

Chelsea gone through, as well

will be an interesting draw, 3 from Premier, 3 from La Liga, Bavarian favorites and Benfica in a draw

Chelsea issues mean either good news for fans (bookies up the odds) or bad news if you think they might start to get affected by on-field play. I've never seen them much as a team reliant on fans though, so they won't miss much if only season-ticket holders watch. Pretty shit to do that to them though, I do feel sorry.

Hope you took that Atletico win. I watched the game and I can't say it is undeserved. United had a bit more of the ball but only few real chances, 1:1 would have been the most fair result.

I did! Much smaller than I initially wanted, I'm trying to be more responsible with my betting as I'm having a poor season -- blaming it on much shorter time spent on games and news these days and some crunch time with studies (or maybe my shittiness is finally showing ha). Watching the match, yeah, I agree. Atletico clearly know how to win matches much more than United, and seeing Pogba start on the bench, I thought it was worth to back them more but the odds actually kept improving so I saw less and less value.

regarding Ajax, yeah, they seemed as clear favorite in this duel, but end-up getting kicked-out, would this influence their meltdown in Ere divisie, and letting title to PSV, probably a real shock for them

Chelsea is already in, but Juventus is a great pick @2
Ajax loss was big disappointment for me, I wanted to see them going far this season. And yesterday they didn't played bad actually, they dominated game.
Yeah, very attractive odds for Juve today, though, Villarreal is tricky team.
Chelsea is almost in, but I still will bet on their win. 2:0 is not 100% secure result, I expect Chelsea to try finish everything tonight.

While we are at fair results, it seems Benfica robbed Ajax of their place in CL. According to the stats Ajax was much better team but Benfica goes trough. Would have never gotten this game correct. Ajax to not score at home, almost unheard of, especially this season.

basically, two weeks ago fair result would be 1:0 for Atletico, now it would be 1:1, and in the end it was "got some luck in Madrid, to lose it at home" for Manchester

Can't wait for next Friday, when we know all the draws. I believe we will get a proper CL last 8, even if arguably, the next 4 to join are on the "weaker" half:
City*
Real
Bayern*
Liverpool
Chelsea
Juve
Ajax*
Atletico*

Looks like you got your prediction wrong in the end, the weakest team left (supposedly) has won a famous victory in Amsterdam, like Trofo says I'm totally surprised they couldn't score, which is not normal. I guess the people there must be having a shitty day right now.

1 point for me. cryptofrka did marvellously and now has a chance to get Number One spot well done man.

I expected the United game to go either ways, but Benfica winning at Ajax is what I never saw coming, I saw the Ajax game for most of the first half, and they had their own fair chances to have taken the lead, but couldn't take the lead and all Benfica needed was just one shot on goal to go through.

It's zero point for me this night in the pool.

I think both Ajax and Atletico were really unlucky last week not to walk away with the win, but that just means tonight's games should be really fun to watch. Both home teams are clear favourites, so that suits me a lot. Going to back Atletico to win, although to qualify at 25/10 is also pretty good odds if they decide to go back to their playbook and just play to annoy. Think I'll wait for some kind of price boost to see if we can't get it bumped to 3/1 and parlay that with a Chelsea clean sheet tomorrow?

^^^You guys seem to have read my mind, as I was coming here to say all those things. I made a 6-leg ambitious acca yesterday with Real on my first leg, was the only bet I made, so am happy.

I only watched 2nd half of the game last night and in bits and pieces, but very lucky to see Benzema get his team back on the QF where they belong. That guy, when even not fully fit, forget him as a person and understand him as a player hungry to prove himself, and you know they're built for Champions League. Plus, Modric definitely the man who also deserves the plaudits (as usual).

PSG have always been pretenders, they're the biggest team I hate to watch because of that simple lack of spirit and UCL ingredient I have trouble trying to understand myself. Mbappe's the only one playing to that tune and yes, he belongs at Real. The fans want it. He wants it. Done deal. I'm absolutely happy they're no longer in the competition. Poch doesn't want to stay. I guess United was the second-happiest team last night as I think now that's the natural next place for him to return to.

PSG is prone to loosing second leg away games in CL and Real is in good form. I am also thinking Real should win this but I am a bit hesitant since they were really bad in first leg. My bet, as usual, goes to both to score as safest choice Smiley

and it happened, Benzema was a star last night, with three goals, but Modric was the one that facilitated the win
what is next for PSG? to buy Benzema Smiley

City did not bother to even win, goalless draw to keep strength for Premier league, all in all, teams expected to pass through from these four matches are going to QF
What is next for PSG? I belive this will be the last nail in the coffin so to say and that Mbappe had enough. He is too good for this squad and Ligue 1, and there could not have been a better scenario to push him towards Real. He once again showed how fast and dangerous he is and Real will want him more than ever and I belive he wants to play for winners  Grin

Real and PSG tonight should be a match worth watching
I am leaning on home win side, and Real seems as good to pass-through, while PSG have result from first match (Mbappe scored in last seconds)

City and Sporting have training for both teams, I do not think that City will go anywhere near Bavarian seven pieces
I agree with both. City will take it easy and play a training game, probably winning 1:0 or 2:0 just to take a bit extra money home and keep the good spirits. We could see some interesting young players in this one.

Yikes. Salzburg actually had a really, really bright start, just as expected. One quick goal was what they were hoping for. Bayern napped but then the Lewandowski show started and it was all over. Just stupid penalties given away in quick succession and then it was ripe for a thrashing. Had them in background commentary while watching Liverpool game.

Liverpool way sloppy in passing out from the back and Salah, well, hit both posts, Matip header crashed the bar. Just glad we made it through and hopefully that Inter game just passed out all the bad luck. We lost our proud Anfield record (never lost after winning away leg). Hope it was worth it. Salah said never mind, next game maybe he scores three heh.
