^  Yup.  Lol.  And notice how I slowly stopped being vocal of being a City supporter after Pep became manager.  I mean I was excited (esp. for the EPL) but was left thinking how it would change everythng.  It kinda reminded me how I used to hate Barca.  Lolol.

You know I was never really a big big fan of Pep even though I supported Barca and thanks to him we made new records and stuff? I always felt it was more of the players and the team itself, of course the style of tiki taka also made it attractive (but Pep himself apparently hated it) but I think you can't always get the style you want simply by being a good manager, you also have to identify the right chemistry players to do it. This is why I like Klopp much more, than Pep. Don't shoot me I love Pep too for what he did for us, but I'm not an admirer;)

Yeah, I feel a bit sorry for genuine non-plastic Citeh fans. Hopefully they'll go shit again and restore some pride to the fans  Cheesy. Might happen if half the team leaves because of the Europe ban. Most big players seem to be contracted till after the ban but not if it gets delayed by appeal.

Hah!  It's ironic, I know.  Lolol.  But the thing is if that's what it's gonna take then that's what it's gonna take.  And to all those people who're getting so excited about Pep leaving to transfer to Italy...  I'm afraid you'll just have to wait for a year more guys.  He's finishing his contract.

Wait until we get the reverse fixtures , there’s going to be some crazy results that no one is going to get right !

Damn, Chelsea were even less dangerous than I expected. I just needed them to score one goal for perfect night at bookies and correct score in our pool. It seems VAR always picks wrong decisions for me. When Alonso got red card there was a fishy situation in Bayern box with possible foul on Abraham. If I needed Chelsea to stay goalless it would be penalty for sure.

as I expected, poor Chelsea with virgin manager can't do anything better against Bayern now. Even if I expected from him to score once.
I did not lock Napoli vs. Barca later I was too late to edit and I wanted to pick Barca wins 2:1. seems to be good that I was lazy to edit  Smiley

Bayern are all over Chelsea , can’t see Chelsea getting anything from this game  - made my prediction 1 week ago when Chelsea were looking very good , but still went with Bayern !!! 2-1 Bayern .
Anyone watching the Barca match ? How’s it looking ?
EDIT 0-2 to Bayern
Edit  0-3  Chelsea can’t come back from that in Munich !

I have some very bad prediction last few weeks, some idea for tonight's matches?
I expect easy wins for Bayern and Barca, but as I say I am on the very bad mod.

I think Barcelona will win, but not sure about Bayern. I already wrote in another topic somewhere - I think Bayern is not that great and actually like the odds on Chelsea not losing in the 1st leg.
In general I think Bayern has enough to win the 2-leg tie but I like the risk/reward on a Chelsea bet.

I just wrote the post with exact opposite of your predictions, that's the beauty of tonight games. I'll quote it here:
I am thinking Bayern will put one foot trough the door today with a nice result like 2:1 or 3:1 tonight. Chelsea defense looks criminal and Bayern has a lot of fire power.

The other game could be a little trickier for the favorite. I think Napoli has good chance of winning today and that is one upset I decided to put my money on. This smells like 1 goal win for Napoli for me but I can't decide if it is gonna be a game with lots of goals or cagey one which Napoli will clinch in the 80+ minute with single goal.

Well it would be pretty boring if we could all guess the exact outcome but that's the fun of it. Anything could happen in this match but I don't think it will be a goal fest. Bayern are the better team in my opinion but they're not brutalising everyone right now but they always have the potential to, but away in the Champion's League is always hard. Chelsea aren't the great team they used to be either, but their form has improved of late and I think that's why I'll go for the draw.

When we talk about Napoli, I was thinking also like you about Atalanta Valencia game and Atalanta destroyed Spanish club. Barca also has some problems.
I know Bayern is not so strong like his name says, but Chelsea have inexperienced manager, he lost easy against Man. United and wins poor Tottenham which played without a few key players from the past (Kane, Son, Eriksen). I don't think last game it's a clear picture of Chelsea's performance.

Don't any of you have a man cave/basement? Essential to escape your wives and spouses. Get a pool table and massive TV and you're set. I don't know what country you live in but watching matches in pubs over here can be dicey. Booze + plebs + football = danger. Seen far too many idiots fighting over nothing and that's why I'd rather stay at home. Much cheaper and safer.

I agree it's essential but unfortunately not Grin
I'm from Croatia, no violence here if there's foreign football on the TV. Rarely during domestic derbies.
I just don't like big crowds I guess. Cannot concentrate properly on the game.

I understand you completely, also I don't like to watch football in pubs, even in-home versions where many people are and many comments. although I am often the one with undesirable and contradictory analyzes. just to provoke  Grin

Anyone backing Chelsea tonight? I'm probably going for a draw though the away Bayern win is tempting. I'll be watching either way. I'm expecting Barca to beat Napoli as well. They're sixth in the Seria A right now which isn't great.

I'd rather stay at home to watch the games, but full kit wankers are the worst. Anyone over the age of 16 shouldn't be wearing full kits out in public non-ironically. The Petr Cech ones were funny though:

At first we always watched in someone's apartment - it was 10 of us every time. Then we got girlfriends, got married etc and somehow it started to become a problem to have a place where we can watch in peace. Then we started to search for bars&pubs and had some great times there before we started dominating.
I understand the hype, I just don't like it. When I go to the bar, the first thing that goes through my head is 'please bring back Hodgson and let Skrtel hoof it to 5 foot Joe Cole on the wing so I can watch the game alone and in peace'.

I'm sure the same thing will happen to Liverpool if they start to dominate the game now. Liverpool have always had a pretty big support outside of their city though.

Yup, in my town (far away from England) everybody's a fan now. We were watching (10-15 of us) for years at the same bar, we did not need to reserve tables or anything, just show up. Now I don't even go anymore because there's like 100 people, full kit wankers that say things like 'this is Henderson's first decent season' or 'we bought Matip for 15 million from Werder'.
It makes my ears bleed so I just stay at home and watch in peace. Team's dominance already ruined my pub enjoyment Grin

Don't forget the games tomorrow and Wednesday. 5 players haven't done their picks yet. Not sure whether to go for a draw on the Chelsea/Bayern game or an away win. Definitely don't think Chelsea are strong enough to pull off a win but they could hold onto a draw. I'll be watching that game then the Madrid/City match on Wednesday. I'll probably go for a draw on that one for sure. Hard to split those teams but if I had to pick a winner I'd take the home win.

Anybody watching Man City vs West Ham?

The stadium is less than half full & this is a Premier League game, not an early round of a domestic cup. They are such a fake, plastic, shitty little club.

In their defense, it's prolly cos of the resched...  And the cold.  And yeah, lots of 'supporters' riding the Pep wave.  I actually stopped being vocal around here about being a City supporter when Pep came in.  It's like the club started being uncool.  But it's fun having him around in the EPL...  And Mou.  Lol.

Well City are becoming the new Manchester United. Everybody used to hate United fans and it was never cool to support them, especially when they were not from Manchester. You always get glory supporters and they become like rats and that's what people used to call United fans because you're never more than ten feet away from one  Grin. Whenever I see a City shirt outside of Manchester I always bet that they haven't been a fan for more than 5 years or so. I'm sure the same thing will happen to Liverpool if they start to dominate the game now. Liverpool have always had a pretty big support outside of their city though.

toke I'm not sure I ever knew this! I make fun of most other big teams but I probably am a bit more spiteful towards the moneh clubs but they're not all bad, I mean our good old Millie came from Citeh, and the Toures were really decent people too, so you know, haha. But yeah, plastic, man, sorry to say =p

This is the issue for me though. How can UEFA be objective or be fair in handing out punishments. They seem the judge jury and executioner. Couldn't they just pull a random figure out the air to fine them? It's obviously in their interests to fine them as much as possible and that why these things need to be independent of the governing body. I dunno how I feel about it. I don't know the full extent of what City did yet as I haven't read up in depth, but there definitely needs to be some harsh punishments for teams that essentially just cheat by throwing money at players.

They absolutely can't. They're sort of like FIFA to me, really bland, really corporate money grubbers and almost completely warped in their sense of justice. I'm actually happy Wenger's in FIFA now and I hope we get more sensible people into UEFA.

That said, City actually never, in their appeals so far, said that they DIDN'T cook the books. All their excuses are surrounding technicality (their data was hacked or the stuff happened before laws came into effect). They're actually not saying they're innocent, so well, they will get punished for sure. Just how, we'll see.
